When my son was younger, he brought home some unwanted things from school and because he had a microscope, we decided to look at one of these things under it. It was interesting to see it up close. Having said that after he got the head lice again, the novelty had worn off though.

did you knew that peacock feathers arent accualy coloured? its an a optimal illusion that on human eyes looks colourful even tought its not. i once colected feathers, and i GOT A LOT THAT MY mom displayed

I especially loved hearing about the barbules. One of my favorite things to do when I was little was separate the barbs on bird feathers (obviously either found or bought, I never plucked them off a real bird lol). Now I know what’s holding them together!

wow, I really have to applaud you guys for the coloring book idea just from a marketing perspective alone. you have a LOT of children in your audience and that's an amazing way they can learn and be involved, but can still also be accessible to kids who can't have pets or don't have a ton of money. you two are constantly surprising me! 💚 you're doing amazing work and I tell literally everyone I know, and especially friends with kids, about your channel.

I think it would be pretty cool to buy some more of those microscopes and take them with you to your educational programs or to have in your facility when it's open, I bet people would love to look through them at different skin sheds or calm/slow animals ♡

Great video! I definitely didn't expect to see some of those things. Personal favorite was being able to tell Charlotte was about to shed. Seeing the older skin seperating from the layer was wild. I love looking at things under the microscope. It's surprising how much you can learn about the world when you zoom in on it.

That was my favorite part as well. So neat! The microscope lessons were always my favourite part of biology back in highschool. My teacher used to bring in samples from his "pond"- it was actually just an old bathtub in his backyard that he kept some scummy water in for precisely that purpose! 😆🤣 Anyway, it was fun to see what I could spy under the microscope. If you enjoy seeing microscopic things, I highly recommend the channel "Journey into the Microcosmos" here on KZfaq. They have awesome footage, and entertainingly educational narration by Hank Green.

Yeah the dots is what Printers do! 😊 This is how Fabric prints also work too they DPI dots like VERY VERY tiny dots for Sublimation printings too! Learned that in Fashion studies! It's super neat to see it so up close!

I'd love to see more of these! Seeing so many different things up close is fascinating! It would be awesome to see other things. I wonder how one of rex's teeth would look at the tip, or some of her scales since they're larger might be easier to focus if she manages to sit still long enough! I scaleless snake looks strange to begin with, imagine seeing how it looks under the microscope looks. Would their skin look similar to ours? SO MANY QUESTIONS! AAAAH SUCH A GOOD VIDEO!

This was such an interesting video! I learned about barbules for the first time last semester in a course about Dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, and we learned about the development of and different types of feathers!

actually seeing the microscopic parts where you can see the colours that make up the colour we see or how the light reacts to the skin/scales/feather. That's my fav part... I do have the microscope that my Dad had from school in a box in my book room. Loved playing with that as a kid.

I live in an area of new york with marsh land and there are tiny bugs called frog hoppers or spittel bugs I think you should make a vid on them it would be pretty cool

5:09 I don't think one can say we'd see "better" with compound eyes. They're great in a lot of ways (like detecting movement), but generally inferior when it comes to seeing detailed images.

You say it’s just a leaf, but look how amazing and complex “just” a leaf is when you analyze it through a microscope. Even the tiny bugs have microscopic hairs and a complicated organic structure that really makes one appreciate nature and existence. Especially those compound eyes.👌 And for Christians like me who believe in Creationism, the amazing and intricate design that could only come from the masterful design of God.

We saw a snapping turtle at our local lake today, it was according to other campers there since this morning. We think its getting ready to pass away. :( (it was on shore) Ill update you and see if its dead by tomorrow... Edit: Well its gone??
