To be fair, according to Varg himself nobody was a satanist in the early days of second wave black metal in Norway, during those times (1992-1995). It was only a lable the media gave to the black metal scene given that they took everything quite seriously, what Varg told the press (with a tongue-in-cheek attitude) before he was taken into custody. The media needed someone to blame, and took satanism based solely on imagery and lyrics of the most prolific black metal band at the time including Mayhem and Darkthorne, Venom etc, and the interview with Varg where he pulled the journalists leg. If you listen to Burzum's music, there is nothing satanic about it. By the time Varg had been imprisoned he was unable to correct the wrong accusations of him or anyone else at that scene being a satanist. Of course today black metal is full of satanism, but not at the 90's. The main reasons for the church burnings during those days was anti-christianity, yes, but not guided by satanism, but by nationalism and right-wing policies. Varg himself is a advocate for nordic paganism and has always had quite nationalistic and pro-europa viewpoint desiring to make Europe into a homogenous society concisting only of white europeans and early pagan religions and practices before Christianity was forced upon europeans, calling christianity, and all Judeo-Christian religions ''sand-religions that destroy europe''. New ghost albums are not trash and this is a good reaction to this particular song, they stated in many interviews that they want to be a theatrical band and move to the bigger things while still not moving from their original theme. They are adding new members and even backing singers to the band in 2018 and will continue to bring us that cool old vibe. Hail Papa (they are not really satanic it's all a joke on religion)

Juhaliza Ghost was never supposed to be taken seriously to begin with. The concept for the band itself is already so ridiculous and campy. The fact that they're embracing that and not taking themselves too seriously is something to be respected imo. Having to change your style is part of evolving as an act. Besides, they've never claimed to be 100% metal. That's the beauty of it. Merging pop music and 80s metal makes them a lot more interesting than if they just played what everyone else was playing. Ghost is not a band for somebody who only listens to metal.

man i had the exact the same reaction when i first listened to this song, seeing you guys dancing to this song was priceless. Also the analysis of the lyrics was pretty insightful as aways, that comparison with behemoth and how the devil would definetly write a song like this one was SPOT ON hahaha. And not to discourage you guys from keep diving into this band... but the rest of their stuff is not superior to this in my opinion, very minimalist musicianchip, and kind of childish lyricism about the devil.

I would suggest to listen to the albums "Opus Eponymous and Infestissumam" I actually didn't like ghost the first time i heard them.. but the more i listened to their music the more i liked it

Bryce Lorton having an F5 to E5 chug in the verse doesn’t mean you ripped off Symphony. Do you know how common that little riff is? The rest of Ritual sounds nothing like Symphony, and that’s not even accounting for how the vocals are nothing like Dave’s, in rhythm, delivery or melody.

I appreciate that you are expressing yourselves by posting this video, however please listen to the music if you enjoy it, and if metal is not your cup of tea, then listen to other genres. And if you keep doing these videos that I know you will, keep an unbiased opinion.

I don’t know how much you know about youtube, but if you post a song straight through u ususally get copyrighted by the record label. Then all the commercial revenue goes to the band and KZfaq not the creator. That’s the reason a lot of channels interrupt every ten seconds or not play the song in total. We play it straight through and get scooped by copywriters all the time. So um nah bro, we’re not profiting off this.
