Bought my 16 year old daughter All-black Dodge Charger police interceptor as her first car. Has a spotlight and a push bar. She wanted a VW Beetle. I said over my dead body. She tried to kill me. But she loves her Charger now. Coolest thing in her HighSchool parking lot.

I used to have a white Volvo 850 estate. The same model the highway police used where I was living at that time. I just got it used because the roof was really nice to carry surfboards on. Had a black rack on the roof with a roll of blue neoprene to protect the boards. To anyone glancing in the rear view mirror it looked exactly like a patrol car with blue light bar. Took me a while to figure out why I was always stuck behind people sticking exactly to the highway speed limits...

I'm a retired 64 year old mechanic. I have a 2006 gray Crown Vic P71. One of very few gray ones I've seen. It has the black P71 wheels with the little chrome center caps, spotlights, and front push bar. There is no sign it ever had police decals on it, so I don't really know what it was used for. It had 2 plugged antenna holes, but no indication it ever had the center divider between the front and back seats. I put fake antennas in the plugged holes, and because I am a licensed amateur radio operator, I also installed three real antennas on the trunk lid, and have real (amateur) radios in it, with a GPS unit on top of the dash. I live in AZ, so I put an AZ flag for a front license plate. As a finishing touch I put fleet numbers on the front fenders and trunk lid, and it still has the police interceptor emblem on the rear. All perfectly legal. It definitely attracts attention. No, I don't have the hat and sunglasses, the windows are tinted as dark as they can legally be, so it's really hard to see inside. But it's amazing how people behave around it. You would think by now that people would realize that the police no longer use Crown Vics. They either use Dodge Chargers, trucks, or SUVs.

I never had a crown Vic but I did have an impala that was a police car when I was in high school. I had some good times in that car it was funny to watch someone speeding practically lock up the breaks trying to slow down.

I bought a 1999 P71 about 2 months ago. Honestly I really like it. It is a really wide car, but its easy to drive once you get used to the size.

ex cop cars are by far the best deal. the upgraded brakes and drive train components are often much safer and more reliable. if I had the chance, I would trade in my 2014 charger for a 2014 charger pursuit

I'm 18, have a 2000 Crown Vic, old police interceptor. I love it; best first car. Plus it was really well-maintened, from being a government car. It's fun to watch brake lights come on when they notice a black Crown Vic in their rearview mirror. I just gotta get the hat now

I had an ex W.VA State Police 78 Plymouth Fury back in the mid 80s. It had a 440 4 barrel, 727 trans. and posi. I had similar fun, and had almost forgotten what fun we had in that car. Thanks for the memories.

In 1978 I was 17 and bought a 1972 Fury cop car for $460 that said Certified 140 mph on the speedometer and would do it too! It still had the spotlight on it which we used to shine on kids making out in the park. It also jumped railroad tracks at 100 mph and landed safely, unlike the General Lee. My girlfriend loved to drive it too. Good times.

Had a couple of 77 B body Dodge Monaco interceptors. One with a 400 and one with a 440. The only time I tried to pull someone over, it turned out to be an Alabama highway patrol unit. Oops. Came up behind him at 120. He turned off, got behind me, and followed me at 54 mph all the way back to town.

Just got a 2016 Police Interceptor Utility today. People react so uniquely. Some go 5 over, some do the speed limit, some do 5 under, some stare, some keep their head locked forward, some start talking and looking over the vehicle with their friends. It's quite fun. On the interstate out of Chicago strangely no one cared, the second I hit a regular highway though it was all different. Then tonight, I was out driving some country roads with my dog in the back. I was at a red light, only a couple cars around and one coming down the road. The light turned green with a green arrow for the left and I take my turn. The SUV coming down the road barrels through the red light at 20ish mph, turning into the same lane I'm turning into and almost sideswipes me; I swerve, they speed forward. After about 30 ft of acceralting they slammed their brakes and quickly pulled over on the side of the road, awaiting their doom as they undoubtedly thought they almost just hit a police officer and their teenage lives were over. I crawled forward and stopped in the road for a second, looking at them, letting them panic, before I drove off and they stayed frozen. 10/10 best first day with it. I hope it put some sense into them and not emboldened them, just depends the kind of people they are.
