Love is such an underrated group.

What a great interview and what a gracious man! Nothing but the facts, as he lived them, without a drop of rancor or cynicism. These guys made incredible music, and that fact never changes.

Johnny Echols is literally now a " Senior " spokesman for Rock & Roll. An amazing summary of Rock royals he worked with. Great memory. He has a book in him.

Indispensable album. Had it from the beginning and still dipped into regularly. In the first wave of magical sounds from the States. Wonderful that Arthur was able to revive the album and bring it to a new audience in his later years.

What a great privilege to be able to interview Johnny Echols! You've really won my respect with this one. Love has been one of those bands I had wanted to get into, but their stuff was super super hard to find. I had my hands on Love Revisited for a while but that's it. "Forever Changes was something I had read about for nearly 20-years before I finally heard it circa 1991. I immediately knew what all the fuss was all about! It would've been cool if Johnny Echols had a similar solo career running parallel to that of Arthur Lee's the whole time. Is it just me when I think that when people where digging Lenny Kravitz, it was really Johnny Echols that they would've really wanted?

So good to hear Johnny talk about my fav album of all time. What great bloke. I've always adored his superb guitar playing on FC but never knew he was responsible for the gorgeous 'Flamenco' guitar on Alone Again Or. Great interview.

Had the pleasure of meeting Johnny recently what a humble guy the man is. He had time to sign autographs ,have pictures taken and most of all to talk to the fans. Love a truly great band and Baby Lemonade with Johnny gave us all there in Bristol a night to remember.

The best interview about the original group I have ever heard. I remember Love playing at our High School in 1966 in Pasadena. One of my top 5 fav groups all my life.

I saw Lee in a small club in 1995 in NYC, he was great.

Excellent interview. A rare case in which the interviewer actually knows what he is talking about, and Mr. Echols articulated his experiences very well. Have heard some of the studio banter during the recording of this classic album, plus outtakes, very interesting.

This is absolutely fantastic. One of my favorite albums.

This band changed my life, no pun intended. Forever Changes is an album that took a few listens to really hit me, but when it did it's like it unlocked something magical. It's one of those rare albums that just becomes a part of you and I couldn't imagine life without it. Digging into the backstory of the band and the rest of the discography was one of the most fun discoveries I've ever had musically. This is a band that within a few months of discovering I knew had become one of my all time favorites, thanks to Arthur Lee, Bryan MacLean, Johnny Echols, and the rest of the various members for your contribution to culture and changing my life forever.

Again... The most underrated channel on KZfaq. Great work Eric and company.

Bought this album back in the Spring of 1968 after hearing "You Set The Scene" on WYBC (Yale radio station). Never stopped listening to it.

why love arent even in rock n roll hall of fame is beyond me when lesser bands swan in!.......love influenced the doors, lez zeppelin, syd barrett and countless others!....... was lucky to see love revisited with johnny echols and their amazing last touring band called baby lemonade!......the guys played the 3 classic albums! ....... blew the roof off!..... johnny had all the cool of arthur lee in spades! .... every inch a rock legend!..... so uber youthful and achingly cool and likeable!........ simply amazing! ......best gig ever in glasgow, scotland

only the cool kids had that album--it's a fantastic record, and the live dvd of it with them young people always brings a tear to mine eyes

The most underappreciated band ever.

Great interview, amazed at Johnny's memory. I always liked Love, I knew Arthur had a fine voice, but I was hardly ready for how great Forever Changes was. It was the kind of record you brought home and just played it 20 times in a row. Only other record like that for me was Beggar's Banquet. Bummer in the Summer was my song, the one I sang to myself while driving around.

I have heard of this album for years, but amazingly had never heard anything from it over the years and they are not discussed enough so I kinda just missed the boat on this one. Finally heard a couple of months ago and the hype is justified. Absolutely brilliant almost like they made this album with absolutely no regard to the outside world which is why it is timeless.

Thanks so much for getting this out there; Love and especially "Forever Changes" is and has been, a favorite of mine for decades. It's good to see Mr. Echols and his take on the music the group made decades ago.

Love and Forever Changes disappeared from memory until interest in the early the early 80's by UK post punk groups that were blending punk and Psychedelic. Interest built up until the later 80s where a complication was released for the U.S/ Canada and I bought it. The albums were very hard to find before that...or very expensive.

Johnny is just as cool I thought he'd be. I have always loved L❤VE!! How they're not up there with the BEATLES & STONES & the other big bands has always a mystery to me!

Utterly fascinating 👍🏻. I was into LOVE from the start and bought my first copy of “Forever Changes” when it was first released. MASTERPIECE then and now 🤷🏼

Very interesting and informative interview for the band love, and all the band histories prior. Nice yamaha amp and turntable clean the album and stylus and put that album on. The fact that the music industry would promote the new album with a billboard, A BILLBOARD, is too cool, make it known and put everyone on to the music.

Man I love Love! I wish that they spoke more about the first two albums witch I think are so much better than forever changes. The first time I heard forever changes I thought it was a wretched disappointed of an album compared to the first two albums.
