Tbh, I don't blame Ten Hag in this case. He's definitely made some mistakes, but this isn't one of them. Jadon Sancho was seriously one of the best wingers in Europe not too long ago and at the time he was only 20 years old when he was at Borussia Dortmund. He was lighting up the Bundesliga week in week out, scoring goals, making assists, his excellent dribbles close control and his nice playmaking in 3 straight seasons he managed to have 10+ goals and 10+ assists, which highlighted his ability to score goals and create chances for his teammates as a wide player. More importantly at his age, he passed the eye test with flying colors because he was so so good and he had a lot more potential left in him and looked set to be one of the best players in the world. Also there were calls for him to be a regular starter in the England national team following a run of great performances for Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United desperately needed a winger who was direct a game changer and a player who was creative and they were chasing after him for years and in 2021 they managed to win the race for him. They paid 85 million for him as it looked like they were getting a superstar player, an impactful one and a generational talent, the expectation for Jadon Sancho there was him taking his game to another level in the premier league and be a much more consistent player.

Jadon was originally signed to play on the right, that's where he played his best football for Dortmund and where he played for England, but for whatever reason Ole decided to play him on the left and rashford on the right, I still think he's more productive than Antony, would be a shame to see him go

When this player he has been protecting for over a year now starts not turning up to the required level on training he has all reasons to get disappointed with said player. I think people need to realise just how good a player Bruno Fernandes is in light of this Sancho saga. He gets slated every week. I don't think he's any pundit's favourite either. But his performances and impact are there for everyone to see. He's taken the bull by the horns since day 1 and not allowed any criticism to affect his game. It takes a lot to be a Manchester United player and we've seen too many youngsters buckle under the pressure. I like Sancho and I believe the talent hasn't just vanished but there must be some personal responsibility here. A thing to know and understand with Dutch coaches and the way they work, the way you train determines if you play, I noticed lots of teams in the Prem or in general, they'll play their 'best" 11 even if someone didn't train well or is out of form. Where as with Dutch coaches and systems, training is very very important and it definitely determines if you start or not. This is why I think there's a lot more to it, ETH probably should've said nothing but my guess would be there's something deeper, I mean just the statement alone from Sancho kinda lets you know, this isn't about training, least not 100% about it.

2 years later and Jadon Sancho has seriously flopped at Manchester United and he right now is a shadow of his former self. Under 3 different coaches, he has had a lot of chances to prove himself, but has really struggled, he's sort of confidence, not scoring goals, not making the right moves/run, not taking on players and not getting assists. He's not been productive in the final third and it has caused him to be on the bench in a lot of the games last season, an 85 million player unable to get a game and because of mental issues he took some time off the team after the World Cup and is still struggling to recapture his Dortmund form. He's also lost his place in the England national team as he's farther away than ever from getting back in the national team after seeing his underwhelming performances for Manchester United. For club and country, he's out of favor and there was talk about them potentially offloading him this summer to make funds for transfers. He in a span of 18 months went from world class to squad player all of a sudden and the drop off in performance is huge. Also, the start of this season hasn't gone to plan for him at all as he was on the bench for their first 3 premier league games and he was on the pitch for not a lot of minutes, and in recent days Jadon Sancho has made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Manchester United played against Arsenal away from home and he didn't make the bench and Erik Ten Hag publicly said that he was left out of the squad due to the way he was performing in training and Jadon Sancho hit back by stating that he's been made a scapegoat and people shouldn't believe what they read on social media. Imagine hitting out at your manager for not telling the truth about an incident that led to him being dropped for a game. He's on big wages, supposed to be a difference maker for them, but has been causing a lot of problems and has done absolutely nothing there. I don't think Erik was wrong in saying that the wingers he chose performed better in training than Sancho (you're not gonna take more wingers on the bench than what you need). I think there isn't a way back after Sancho's petulant demeanor putting himself before the club, manager, and fans by throwing another round of turmoil our way because he couldn't wait to speak and explore a transfer request with Erik privately the day after. Issue now is; I don't think any club wants someone who's got the potential to be this hot-headed, it's at least gonna deduct som from his price and have clubs pull out not wanting to bring that to their dressing room. In short; Sancho threw the club under the bus.

The warning signs were there with Sancho’s attitude before he even signed for the club, never done anything good on the pitch in his time so far at United albeit a very well taken goal against Liverpool last season. He’s a luxury player just as pogba was put them in a side that wins and dominates possession every week I’m sure they would look like world beaters but at United where we do end up going toe to toe with teams and have to work hard on the pitch they go missing. Turns out its a mistake to give a teenager millions. Not everyone has an internal hunger to become the best despite all the temptations being at the top allows them. Clubs should start paying the majority of their wages to a holding company managed by parents. They can have full control of the finances when their brain is fully matured, at 28 y old.

This is why i cant stand both Manchester clubs, and Chelsea, they sign players with no real spot on the first team for them, they just sign players for the sake of signing someone, and if they work out cool, if not they rot on the bench.
