Before (Chang) 15:42
After (Audience) 18:11
The Audience had better separation between the 2 horns & the timber was more realistic.
The drum hit sounds better defined. The bass was better integrated as well & the highs are smoother. I really didn't have the volume up enough (always sounds louder in person) to really show off the dynamics of the Audience aR6.
Notes:
1.) Even though the outlets have low-medium-high filters, I found that my MacBooks power supply sounded best on the "low or amp" section and not digital. Likewise switching the modem/router to the medium plug sounded better than on the digital plug. However moving my DDC off the digital and to the medium sounded stringent & bright, back to the digital and smooth! I did leave the amp on the suggested amp plug. I suggest trying the different plugs yourself and pick the filter most pleasing with your connected equipment.
2.) Make sure to give this thing about 500hrs of break in & you will be rewarded for your patience! (It got smoother on the top end).
3.) Tidal dropouts have gone done by 75% since testing over multiple days! Although not gone completely, it's a huge improvement.
✨streaming sounds better now too.

Your experience with audience mirrors mine with my older adept response ap1p single outlet conditioner with how it adds vibrancy and excitement along with all the traditional things you get like black backgrounds, larger and deeper soundstage and also bringing out the details that was sorta lost before. Thanks!

Enjoying the deep freeze my PNW neighbor lol! Thank goodness for channels like yours that show the true passion and enthusiasm about audio! I heard a more lively, detailed, open sound, not forward in any way, but more nuanced detail on the Adept Response conditioner.

💥Update! The Tidal drop outs, although not completely gone, have settled down 75% compared to before. This is a wonderful side effect of cleaning up & isolating the individual outlets in my system. Streaming sounds better too. More notes in the video description.🎉🎼✨

That was great! My main and only system is similar to what you have there and a few years ago I upgraded all my cabling to audience (the SE line) which I bought used. I haven’t had the inkling of making any changes! Great stuff! All the best in the new year!

Hay man love your videos, your desk setup is sick. I think I am going to start putting together another system at my desk since I have some money to spend and I need computer speakers anyways. I like your rule of thumb when it comes to the pricing, I think I will follow it with my second setup. Merry Christmas and happy new years.

Definetly an audible difference, Have you tried Qobuz? I find the audio quality superior there and the streams are consistent! I invested in an CVT over 20 years ago from a military contractor, the audible benefits for the front end were amazing, I've never been tempted to look elsewhere after that! I also have one of their Mains tranformers, I rarely use the larger transformer, I haven't had the light and day difference yet! i found a decent DC filter (I bought the supra version) does an incredible job!

Nice! I need to try Qobuz at some point, I've just been happy with the Tidal selections, especially deep house, progressive techno etc...thanks for the info & for watching! 👊🎼✨

@@vpconcepts9838 I was with Tidal since it's Norwegian inception. It was really good, over time though I found it couldn't compete with my CD collection. Since I tried Qobuz I've hardly used my CD player! It's truly a CD competitor! Have you any new content coming soon? If you've not tried a DC filter of highly recommend the Supra version, an incredible tool for your system and cost effective! Since I place it in my system I've not had a day pass bye where I thought the system wasn't sounding it's best, quite the opposite! I'm running my main system through one in various blocks and the CVT after it. Worth a try it cleaned up a transformer hum in my momo blocks and the results audibly were light and day 😎

Another great power filtration option is a company called Puritan. From what I have read they are one of the best.

Awesome video man , I’m going to consider that for my computer setup . I’ve been noticing some weird breakup, pops , occasionally and can’t track it down. I’m running Roon , Qobuz/Tidal. P.S. My amp uses Neutrik connectors that goes to the outboard power supply and it can be tricky if you don’t turn to the left to lock them in place, I made that mistake when I first bought the amp so don’t feel bad lol we live and learn on the way 👍

It's a little power house. I've since upgraded to the I2s from the coax, and added 3 ifi products in the chain that has improved the sound a lot since this video. I'll do an update video soon. Merry Christmas my Washington brother! 👊🎼🎄💯✨

I own the aR6 which was developed for Naim electronics. No power conditioning, no switch. Just best made power distro. I've been very pleased with the performance and it would work well outside of the Naim universe.

I thought the trumpet sounded slightly more forward/bright on the 1st sample but the bass & separation of instruments sounded more defined on the second but everyone's ears are different so i could be hearing Slipknot to your Vivaldi LoL Love your Darkness figure.

hi thanks a lot for the very interesting video i have a very trivial test to check a system with all units connected and no signal coming from the source i crank the volume to max and i listen close to the speaker for any noise the less noise i hear the better the system if i hear some noise or hiss there are problem noise and distortion are the enemies very nice unit you have kind regards gino
@vpconcepts9838
@vpconcepts9838 Жыл бұрын
Hi Gino! The PS Audio gain cell tech has a bit of hiss if you put your ears about 3 inches from the speaker. No hum or buzz. From the online forums, this seems to be normal. It could be the way the gain cell technology is implemented. Either way it's not noticeable and sounds incredible! My big setup with my McIntosh is dead quiet. Thanks for watching! 👊💯🎼✨

The new conditioner removed the 'strident' sounding sound of the brass instruments and separated the instruments better. Also, the cymbals had more impact when struck before they sizzled. Altogether a less fatiguing and more engaging performance.

I notice a big difference in the articulation of the drumset. The attack is more responsive and the cymbals are clearer..as a drummer, that is of course what I would notice..it is pronounced. Noise floor may be a bit lower, also. Thank you for sharing.

Don't put any filtration from the computer signal that will be causing you'll drop out interferes with the signal, if its USB make sure it's just a data cable or cut the plus off, don't shield the cable for digital signal, and make sure it's 93 ohms cable connector for digital signals not 50 ohms and a below could be causing the problem as well especially on long runs.

Their site is really annoying - very difficult to find actual prices on their products. Rule of thumb is, when that happens, companies think their products are overpriced.
