When it comes to drilling holes, especially by hand, air on the slower side. There are specific RPMs for drill bit sizes, refer to a machinist chart, but general rule of thumb is past 3/8ths in size place your drill on the slower speed. Bits heat up and dull quickly when you spin them faster than they can cut, so just slow it down and don't put a ton of pressure on the bit. Moderate, consistent pressure and plenty of cutting lube and some patience. Cleaner hole and easier on the wallet as you dont have to replace drill bits as often.

the larger diameter the bit the higher the surface speed. larger bit = drill at a slower speed (generally)

I was addicted to Hondas in high school. I had a CRX and an EG hatch, I swapped both with B-series. Sold everything and forgot about it in 2006 until a buddy got into racing recently. I searched for civics to see what happened over almost 20 years of taking a break. These videos remind me how cool these little cars are. Thank you for sharing. I can’t wait to get back in a 1988-2000 civic, throw a swap in and hit the track!

Hasport makes the best aftermarket mounts already. I loved the 60A in my K swapped DC2 ITR. However, if they decided to make a hard rubber version instead of polyurethane, that would be a game changer! Fingers crossed they develop a hard rubber lineup!

Great choice with the B16B. I've had a B16B in my EE9 (EF shape) Civic track car and it was so much fun to use. I'd advise a short final drive if you want it to punch above it's weight, with a 5.1 in the S4C mine would just outrun a DC2 type R on the straights. I've since gone K series which is much quicker but definitely not as fun to use.

The grind on the drill bit can make a difference as well as previous hole size. I use a pilot bit that's the same size as the chisel point then just sent the big bit though but in this case you are going 2mm bigger and will struggle with it grabbing. 14mm drill bits are know for wanting to rip your arm off, when I was build big trucks and had to drill the chassis holes bigger to 14mm or 16mm I would put a handle with a pipe on the drill and just hold on 😂

This one takes me way back!! I had a 1990 Si with a B18C in it and it was a total blast to drive! I wish I had never sold it!! When the drill bit grabs there are two things you can do. #1 is set the clutch so that it won't break your wrist. That alone could be enough but there is another way too. #2 is to put the drill in reverse and that way it won't grab but it will still push through... but only do this to get past the grabbing when you are almost through. Or better yet get the right mount!

Now is the time with so many car enthusiasts getting older to start offering an option for softer durometer rubber bushings in Hasport mounts. Sometimes the wants of the customer differ from the opinions of the designer, but is often a simple case of "give them what they want" and it will succeed.

DP, pretty much how you drilled out the T bracket is the only method, might have a slightly easier time with it on a drill press but fast but slow and steady is how youd get it done. As for the durometer, the reason why its not ideal to go any softer is due to increased stress on the linkage while shifting and also pulling back on the forks while in gear, causing premature wear on the synchros. At one point Hasport had a 65mm but through years of testing they found that it still had issues that I mentioned above, not as pronounced as before however. Cant have it all fellas!

Best way to drill holes like that is to use something rigid like a drill press, make sure the work piece is well clamped and the holes are a true 90° to the drill. Use a drill bit with a 135° tip.

Best shot is when you're checking clearance at the firewall. OMG been there. might as well just strip and relocate the vac lines, wiring harness, vac canister, fuel filter, brake line distribution block... etc..You need a drill press to do that drilling properly and a 14mm reamer. (best technique).

Working on the Pedals is no fun at all. I had to do this as I swapped the automatic trans to manual and I was done after that. I even had the problem with the screw on the trans mount in the back, thought half a day about how to loosen the screw. I couldn't reach the screw as you did no matter how hard I tried. I loosened the screws from the frame holding the steering rack just enough to get to it. It was 1 more minute of work after all. But the pedals... I won't start talking about my war with the pedals, hoy many times I had to get them out agaian and how long it took to get them in as the holes did not fit as they should...
