The whole show is great, it did get a bit wacky after a few seasons but was still completely enjoyable

YAY!!! YOU'RE FINALLY WATCHING!!! This is when Ginnifer Goodwin (Snow) and Josh Dallas (Charming) fell in love in real life, got married and had babies!! They'd known of each other before and there were some sparks flying but he was married and she had a fiance. Josh was either in the process of getting a divorce or it was final and she'd broken up with her fiance and they reconnected when they were cast on OUTA and that as they say is history. The great thing the writers did was to incorporate not only the fairy tales we grew up with but also the newer characters that have been created in recent generations. The other thing is there are SOOO many actors who were on here that you're like...REALLY??? It's awesome!!! You've gotten a taste but pay attention to the flashback moments and know that there are a lot of "6 Degrees of Separation" moments :) Regina thought that the curse would transport everyone to this awful place (I mean it's supposed to be the worst curse imaginable) where everyone she hated would be miserable which would make her happy. Yea...not so much, lol. But given that nobody knows who they truly are, she did still get her wish to a point.

Also, I'm sure someone's said it already, but the writers/directors confirmed that Rumpelstiltskin "woke up" per se when he heard Emma's name.

The way that The Dark Curse works is that everyone is ripped away from The Enchanted Forest, and given new identities. They are essentially doomed to be separated from their loved ones either via their new personas not getting along, or just not remembering who they're supposed to be with. In addition, they're stuck in a daze with no perception of time, and they don't realize that they're not aging and have no desire to fight back or try to escape. As far as Regina's relationship with Henry.... Well.... Regina is EASILY the most popular character in the show and I definitely think it's because she's super complex and grows A LOT throughout the show's run. Her relationship with Henry is definitely complicated, but I will say tell you now that she DOES love him unconditionally. She just doesn't always know how best to show it given the life that she's led.

It probably has one of the most complex family trees in any TV series. Have fun working out the familial connections.

It's funny that you said it's exciting trying to figure out who is who, because some of the characters are actually more than one fairytale character.

The first season is so good and so magical, very fun try to guess who is who, is it all real or just Henry's imagination? The first time i watched i was so curious about all, really fun, all the serie is good, has it's low seasons, but in general is very good with a great message, hope and love, the first season is my favorite 😍🤗

I've watched every single episode of once upon a time, it's not just disney its more along fairy tales, like Hansel and gretel, Dr jekyll and Mr Hyde, the wizard of oz, red riding hood, Jack and the bean stalk amongst disney movies and characters and mutiple characters have different back grounds/characters they play

Henry sounds insane, bit imagine things from his perspective. no one in that town has aged since Emma went through the wardrobe right? so imagine Henry's perspective on his classmates

Such a great pilot and you said something that yeah, I never really considered until just now. Why would Regina put herself in this "horrible" place and make the place actually quite nice? I never thought about it but that sums up so much of who Regina is. She put herself somewhere with all of these people she supposedly hates, and sure, put herself in a position of power, but she still wanted to be around them. She still subconsciously wanted that pretty idealistic image of neighbors, friends, family. The fact that you randomly said that on just the pilot episode is amazing. 🤯

They filmed all 7 seasons in Vancouver, BC. So, it was wet and cold a lot of the time.

god, i always look back fondly on the ouat pilot, thinking it was so good but im STILL surprised by how good it is every time i see it again! it really rested on snow and charming bringing their chemistry and heart to bare and jc did they deliver

1:02 that’s actually Canada! Nature Dyke Trail on Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows, BC. Very beautiful area. The whole show is filmed in BC! Most of Storybrooke is filmed in a town called Steveston. It definitely does get cold lol but surely not as cold as Greenland. Definitely wasn’t expecting a watch party for this show! I remember starting it when there was only one season out, and being very excited that it was filmed near ish home. Can’t wait to see your reactions :)

Snow's hair gets much nicer as the season goes on. This pilot episode was a little rough in terms of style

The first season was the best! Loved this plot. Funny that you are searching for "what disney movie a character is from", but they are the old fairytales that it's based on, not disney movies 😅.

Based on the title no the only time in the series it has anything to do with Disney is in season 4 I won’t mention more than that because it’s a good surprise if no one else has mentioned it

The show was filmed in Canada, mainly in Steveston (as Storybrooke), a fishing village in Richmond, BC and different cities in Canada, such as Vancouver, North Vancouver, Fort Langley, New Westminster and Burnaby.

Pretty fun series - later on they also added characters from more recent movies (Brave, Frozen...). I can imagine the creators of OUAT saw Trainspotting and said, "Yep, there's our Rumpelstiltskin"😏.

Drop the talk of Disney! This TV show, is more of putting a twist on old classic fairly-tail stories. Watched this when, it aired new on the ABC network and loved it from the very first episode. The earlier seasons are truly outstanding. So, I hope you enjoy the ride as you watch episode after episode (smile...smile).

You're gonna enjoy this so much, its one rollercoaster of an adventure but its so good. I think I was around 14-15 when it first came out and I was instantly hooked.

The creators of this show did such a great job of creating this universe of fairytale characters and showing how all their stories are connected. I really enjoyed watching this when it came out. I'm glad you're choosing to continue this series.

A few things - Rumplestiltskin gave himself a fail safe. When he asked Snow and Charming what her name was it was him giving himself that key to remember. So when Emma said her name in the inn, that was him finally remembering. Before then he didn’t. Also, it’s been a debate since the beginning of Regina actually loved Henry and I have to say she really did love that boy. I can’t wait for you to watch more. I might have to subscribe to your pattern if you’re doing it there !

There are a lot of Disney characters but there are characters that are more than just fairy tail characters that don't have anything to do with Disney so keep that in when guessing who they are.

Rumplestiltskin didn't know who he was/what was going on until Emma introduced herself to him. It's why in the jail cell he was so insistent on getting the babies name, it was a loophole he had written into the curse for himself that when he heard her name he would know who he was.

I'm currently watching this show. A few things were beyond me, such as the dwarves hatching out of eggs, but mostly I was happy with how the stories were presented. I'm several series in now and still enjoyig it. Robert Carlyle is excellent as Rumpelstiltskin and it was nice to see a lot of other British actors in there.

This is an AWESOME show and super addictive and a great cast and beautiful scenery at times. It just gets better and better after season 1. Personally I loved all of the first 6 seasons. They have a terrific cast and although you want to hate Regina who is also the Evil Queen. You will come to love her character so much. Her, Snow and Emma and Rumplestiltskin and many other characters. I cant eait for it to dawn on you who is Beauty and who is the Beast as more Disney characters are revealed. They are my favorite. Them and Snow and Charming and Regina and Emma. Im so happy yoir watching this. Im sure you might of already questioned how old is everyone in Storybrooke? Because they have not aged at all. But they were frozen for 28 years and time was also frozen and they didnt age. But you will come to find out that that some of them live for a very long time and dont age. And that was even before the curse began. A few of the characters are hundreds of years old yet look like their are their 30s 40s 50s etc. Its really weird. But pay close attention and you will already be questioning their ages in season 1. Its so bizarre. Can you please set up a playlist for all your once upon a time reactions to make it easier to find it when you upload more episodes?

In answer to your question (because scanning I don’t think anyone answered) the whole show was filmed in the coastal temperate rainforests of Vancouver, BC. So, wet, yes. 😂. Cold? Depends on how you define “cold”. Not cold like the northeast in winter. I grew up in western WA where the landscape is basically the same. At one point in Charming’s backstory, you’ll see a gorgeous mountain peak in the background behind him-I remember the moment I realized it was the north side of Mt Baker (I was used to seeing the south side when I went to school in Bellingham, WA). In fact, there are still tours in Vancouver where you can visit filming sites for the show. Hollywood had a preoccupation with the Grimm fairy tales in the 2010’s. ABC/Disney had OUAT. NBC had Grimm (actually set in the northwest, Portland OR; and also featured a main protagonist that drove a yellow Volkswagen, just like Emma-I often wondered if there was a symbolism there 😂). Both launched in 2011. Red Riding Hood (starring Amanda Seyfried) also came out in 2011. Then in 2012 we had competing adaptations of the Snow White story (Snow White & the Hunstman; and Mirror Mirror); and in 2013 there was the action-horror film Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Watching this at the 8:00 mark makes me wonder why Regina didn’t make them remember they had a child that they lost. Like she could have had them remember from the curse they had a daughter who was abducted, who was lost at childbirth, etc. that would have been really awful and more evil for them.
