I agree. I worked in chain restaurant kitchens too. There was always alot of shit talking in the kitchen, including about customers they were serving. And there was always that one bitchy girl yelling and cussing about something just like in this clip. I never saw anyone go as far as they did in this movie about doing absolutely disgusting shit to a customer's food (such as sticking garlic bread down pants or hocking a lugie, but I did see a couple times someone coughing near food without covering their mouths and knowing that they were doing it, and I saw numerous times someone not washing their hands after using bathroom and then handling a customer's food. Restaurant workers do break health codes, I just never saw as much of an exaggeration of it as there was in this movie.

I worked at a Pizza Hut that had a lunch buffet. 8 types of pizza to choose from and a few different salads. Had a regular who would eat only the toppings on the pizzas. He would go through at least two pizzas, wasting the bread. He would then try to get a discount because there wasn't enough "breadless options". He would try every time there was a new server. I had to warn anyone I hired about him. We never gave the discount, but he never stopped trying.

I've worked in restaurants for about 5 years, a waste of my life but I can assure you that the people that wrote this movie have also worked in the food industry, every single thing and person in this movie is seriously accurate as to what you would encounter working in restaurants for so long, every character in this movie is that "one person" in every single restaurant and this is no damn joke. One of the most impactful points in this movie is when this upper class group in a table give the waiter a business card saying he liked the way he works and offers him a job opportunity, this leaves you relieved believing his skills are finally being appreciated, hardly, when he throws the card away it's merely a business card to another restaurant doing the same job, when you get into the food industry you feel very stuck, the only other jobs willing to take you are other restaurants, it really is a sinkhole and the only way to get out is to push yourself out, I no longer work in the food industry and don't think I ever will, apply for anything and everything. But yes, this movie is accurate, so accurate, even the creepy manager guy and the sexual relationships between overaged and underaged enployees is true, I've seen it first hand.

I was a cook at a Bennigan's in the late 80s and the big problem I have with all these scenes is no background music or ambience. There was always music blaring inside/outside the restaurant and people always chattering and clanking stuff around. Its so ingrained in me that I kept wondering what was wrong with the audio in these clips.

@@karibyers7590 Thanks! I have a lot to say about this film, esp since I made a low budget film in 1991 at Bennigan's as a joke about working in a chain restaurant. Some of the scenes look eerily similar to what we filmed, and the plot is the same. Unfortunately, the master copy was passed around by corporate at parties, and I never saw it again. I hope someone posts it to youtube. The director/writer missed a lot of details in this movie, IMO. P.S. Sorry about the long rant. I’m really hoping ex-Bennigan's managers or anyone reads my comments who knows what I’m talking about. I have been trying to track it down for years.
