A simple looking but rather complex media unit.
the veneered panel im using is NZ Rimu (Red Pine) , hard to get in any form let alone pieces big enough and with adequate quality to be made into veneer. thus this one sheet cost around $500 nz.
i used Salice Pacta hinges on this one , here - salicedirect.com/products/sal...
I used Mirotec WB 8060 WB , clear coat by Mirotone
and Lusacryl semi gloss paint by Resene.

When you sprayed the back of the doors first, I thought, wow, someone with a brain. You have no idea how many KZfaq vids I've seen where they paint the outside first. I was amazed again when you covered the back with painters plastic, it is indeed the only way to prevent overspray. Kudos Joey.

Nice build, thanks. I love the cable access port you made and especially the thinking around cutting the piece out with a narrow bit so you could then keep the piece to maintain grain consistency and fill "kerf" with lipping etc, (nothing short of brilliant). Cheers, David

The pop out cable tidy. I saw a guy cut one upside down on a CNC with a 45° V cutter until it just cut through. He then glued on a triangular block of timber to all edges. No kerf lost at all.

Fairly mild in the north island maybe 2deg c for a couple hours in the morning then it warms in the sun. The south island can be much colder with snow to sea level. Cheers

With the 18mm backing panel it can just be screwed to the studs.

Where do I find hinges like that? Particularly with the feature that stops them at 90°. Is it pretty sturdy?

Sometimes especially with smaller Items you can avoid overspray by laying it flat on clean Paper. Even those advertising newspapers work and are free.

I initially read it as Well hung media cabinet... 🙄 I need to get my head out of the gutter 😂😂😂 Real nice job there Joey, make the vids when u can, we're not goin anywhere so no pressure. When you received the price of the veneered ply, did you clarify that you only needed "one' sheet and not an entire pack 😂

I love it. There is not much difference in a comparable model felder. Unless you want the bells and whistles. I can see some areas where the build quality could be improved which I guess they have done on the felder. For me for the money its perfect

KingPost TimberWorks I had a Hammer Spindle moulder but swapped it out for the FELDER one to run doors and windows, there was nout wrong with the Hammer. Keep up the good Videos sir

Its cordless and airless, and reasonably easy to clean. It does a pretty good job for what I want.

So you made a (rather unique / nicely done) cable port, so I assume there's going to be electronics in here - but I don't see any provision for (forced) ventilation. Did the customer spec it that way? (I understand that not everything with a plug needs lots of cooling)

I would have totally made the door faces with the same wood,,, you probably even had material left for it. white doors no way... I like the hardwear though
