@@Iyana Hi, I wish all the best on your journey. You might have already found out, or maybe had a hunch or an inkling, BUT, when you incorporate items from your heritage they normally work best and are easier to incorporate most of the times in to your practice. Also, remember this, use what attracts you, close your eyes, move your hand slowly over the item(s) that your interested in and you might feel a tingle or some charge. It takes practice an patience, but allow the flowers, herbs, oils and woods talk to you and see where they fit in best. You might also surprise yourself that things that are not from your background might resonate even more with you rather than what "is" from your natural background. Each item and person have their own attraction and it might repulse you. Once you gain move experience, blindfold yourself and ask a friend to change the items around and that way, you will truly know better with more experience. @Siofra's Magic Alcove would have more advice to share o this.

I chopped my mother cannabis yesterday which was exceptionally big and used as a mother cloning plants. I had to harvest her buds yesterday and she spoke to me. I find wands which are obtained from nature far more effective… materials which require minimal touch up… ask the nature for it, and if it comes to you that means nature has granted you a gift… not just the wand, also the permission to wield it… now you can do good with it… I got a few wands made of “king of woods” (agathis borneensis) branches from a few sources… it’s a rainforest wood so dense that it sinks in water, and has very strong vibration due to high iron content… absolutely magical!

I found a branch of English oak in London. It had fallen near the tree, possibly after a storm. I had picked this gun shaped stick up and brought it with me, it was Thursday, but can't be sure. I attached a yellow sapphire to it eventually on a Thursday and made libations, put the sapphire on the end and it looks like a beautiful yellow flame on the end. Hail Zeus, he who defeated typhon, he who diplomatically and fairly rules between the other great gods . Hail Zeus jing of the gods.

@@siofrasmagicalcove7293 I have been on my Journey most of my life but in 2016 I had my Spiritual Awakening and have been on it ever since. I have worked with ghosts and spirits growing up and all through our adulthood before my Awakening. I helped them cross over or cleaned out places. I also practiced magic naturally beforehand. I have always been an empath and finally learned to control it and work and worked as a LIGHT Workers and LIGHT Warrior, Healer, etc.. NOT new age! I have done my shadow work, etc.! My favourite topic 😉😉There are just so many way to make them. The 1st large wand that is shown can be used for ceremonial magic too when casting your circle. Drift wood wrapped in large / broad leaf seaweed for the handle area, together with a few different stones / crystals imbued in to it and at the tip while wire wrapping with Gold, Silver, Electrum (Gold and silver that are combined, at times with other metals such as copper or palladium, this is a natural occurring) and Copped thin wires to wrap the wand. Or you can make a thin solid wand made from silver rod or copper and then add other elements to it. @Siofra's Magic Alcove your input would be appreciated.

@siofrasmagicalcove7293 Жыл бұрын
Wands are versatile and there are many ways to construct them. It all depends on your personal path and purpose...as well as your budget. I tend to use different colors of copper wire as I can't afford electrum. Never thought of using seaweed to wrap a handle. Since it is an organic substance I would wonder if it might rot or become dry and brittle and not sure how that would feel to the touch. Sounds like you might know the answer to that!

Interesting, thank you for sharing. I'm learning some things about myself recently that I've never understood. I've always been around practitioners but never paid attention to their craft. Something in me has been paying attention more to the energetic world. So I've been quietly learning. I've been subconsciously doing things, and i don't know why. Like when i bought a house, I planted 2 rosemary bushes on either side of the front door. I have a ritual at the beginning of the year to leave bad work energy at work or catch it in the driveway.
@siofrasmagicalcove7293
@siofrasmagicalcove7293 5 ай бұрын
The knowledge of how the energetic world works with our reality is instinctive. It is in every cell and atom of the universe which is why, even when humanity goes through those dark times when we are separated from the stream and it seems like we've lost our way, the knowing is never completely lost and rises and is rediscovered by those of us who tune into the spiritual center of life itself and the planet upon which we live. The trees, the stones, the animals...they all remember the magic for us.

I fallow my intuition and pickup what the universe puts in my path while I'm out walking. Currently making a staff for meditation and self reflection while on walks or visiting the graveyard. As she said, go with what feels right to you. I pick up the stick and I reflect about how it makes me feel in response to purposed uses. @@siofrasmagicalcove7293 exactly, it's all about perception and how you approach life. Tak the ocean for example; do you see it as dark and dangerous or mysterious and filled with hidden wealth? Do you think k of coral reefs amd Clow fish or barracudas and tidal waves? Do you see it as the primordial womb from with life first formed or as a graveyard of ships and a place we don't belong? Perhaps you see it as all of these allowing its magic to have greater utility to you. I dont believe in evil because even the most destructive of forces have their place in this world! The fire that burns the forest brings forth ash that fertilizes the land for a healthier growth while removing diseases. Rot and decay turn what is dead into nutrients for plants and insects for larger animals and us to eat; the circle of life if you will. As the Hindus say, all things are a part of Brahman and therefore all things are sacred. The true left hand path (Aghori, a hindu practice and concept in origin) teaches us to see this by stripping us of our cultural notions of right and wrong and have us break our taboos so we can transcend our limits and achieve oneness with the universe. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7OCebehlZeYhGg.html This practice is intense though and not for most people, not at its fullest anyways. Eating your own poo and vomit, partying in ritualistic cannibalism and what not. Putting yourself thru great discomfort while attempting to maintain those higher states of conciousness that many can only find when in very tranquil and more ideal places like meditation retreats. Most people won't understand this nor will they care to but that is simply the role they are ment to fufill in this grand act so contrast may exsist and knowledge can be had.
@siofrasmagicalcove7293

Everyone has their own challenges to meet and choose which way they will go in order to achieve their goals. You are correct that it is a good idea to break yourself of the primitive notion of good vs. evil since it is a matter of perspective. I think many could achieve this, however, without going the extra step of eating one's own excrement and bodily waste.

I made my first wand out of the top of a tree I found standing dead in the woods. 12 inches of it were dedicated to the wand and I had affixed a quartz tower to the end you hold with hemp twine. As quartz is a neutral crystal and can channel most every energy with a slight magnification. The rest of the tree was converted into a staff. The base was dead but the other 7 feet of it were good.

Hello, tahnks for the nice introduction! What kind of books you would recomend for wand making?
@siofrasmagicalcove7293
@siofrasmagicalcove7293 7 ай бұрын
Most of the books that talk about wands don't see the wand as a central or important tool. It's just one of those things that people can have. Franz Bardon goes into more detail about specific types of wands and how they can be constructed. I think most of that information is in his second book, Magical Evocation. The more you know about the symbolism and associations of different woods, stones, etc. the more likely you are to create a more specific type of wand like I ended up doing. It's one of the things I like about this tool. There are endless potential applications and types of energy that you can focus through them.

@@siofrasmagicalcove7293 thank you very much. It's such a good source about magic in general and also interesting to read about his approach to that topic. Yes, just when I started carving different wands I noticed the different energy they created. One was more connected to the earth, one to the cristall and so on.

As you said the ritual is less important than the intention and the focus. You can literally cast a spell with an old sock if ya want. The ritual merly triggers your memory. your memory is in the water. Water is memory. We are not a drop in the ocean, we are the ocean in a drop.

Hi Siofra, i live in the south east of England so we have many cobb, hazel, horsechestnut and birch here. Which would you recommend for a spiritual defence wand and which would you recommend for elemental contact/invocations? Kindest regards.

Here's what I have on my computer regarding some of the trees you mentioned. Birch, the Inspiration: Vivacious, attractive, elegant, friendly, unpretentious, modest, does Not like anything in excess, abhors the vulgar, loves life in nature and in calm, not very passionate, full of imagination, little ambition, creates a calm and content atmosphere. Associated with the sun. (Celtic birth month properties) BIRCH* (Betula spp.) A lovely pale, fine-grained wood. Long associated with fertility and healing magic, birch twigs were used to bestow fertility on cattle and newlyweds, and children's cradles were made from its wood. Birch is one of the first trees to grow on bare soil and thus it births the entire forest. Criminals were at one time birched to drive out evil influences on them, to renew them for the new year. Birch was associated with Thor, probably in recognition of his role as an agricultural and fertility deity. Birch is an incredibly useful tree - nearly every part of it is edible, and it's sap was an important source of sugar to Native Americans and early settlers. The inner bark provides a pain reliever and the leaves are used to treat arthritis. It's bark was used for everything from paper to canoe hulls, and axe handles were also made from Birch. Birch is most useful for fertility and healing spells. Male, Air, Sun, Wisdom, Thor, protection, luck, divination. Chestnut Tree, the Honesty: of unusual beauty, does not want to impress, well-developed sense of justice, vivacious, interested, a born diplomat, but irritate and sensitive in company, often due to a lack of self-confidence, acts sometimes superior, feels not understood loves only once, has difficulties in finding a partner. (This is from a Celtic tree month perspective) Gender: Masculine Planet: Jupiter Element: Fire. Hazel is associated with Mercury. Hazel is another food tree. In Celtic tradition, the Salmon of Knowledge is said to eat the 9 nuts of poetic wisdom dropped into its sacred pool from the hazel tree growing beside it. Each nut eaten by the salmon becomes a spot on its skin. The Hazel tree provided shade, protection and baskets. In Europe and North America, hazel is commonly used for 'water-witching' - the art of finding water with a forked stick. Magically, hazel wood is used to gain knowledge, wisdom and poetic inspiration. So am thinking from this that Birch would make a good spiritual defense wand and Hazel would make a good elemental contact/invocation wand. Do research on local lore and then feel what works for you! Talk to the spirit of each tree and see what they have to say about it!

Making a wand from the holly tree outside my kitchen window has been on my list of to dos for awhile. I recently felt it was time to cut it, a week or so before a nice new moon with lots of juicy details tied to it so I will have the moon in mind while making it. Q: A list describes holly, then describes American Holly with some more different non-magical oriented words like being the whitest wood sometimes stained to Mahogany. Do you think it means American Holly holds the same as English Holly as well as being the whitest?
@siofrasmagicalcove7293
@siofrasmagicalcove7293 2 жыл бұрын
I think that all woods have both magical and non-magical descriptors so I don't think that it matters if it's English Holly or American Holly. They both have spikey leaves, stay green all year, make red berries. I have a piece of holly that I harvested but I haven't made a wand with it as yet. They are in the same family.

Question - I was finishing some altar work and my silver snuffer fell on the floor, made a bell ringing sound and broke in 2 pieces The bell ringing was a personal sign from my guides about something Then I picked up the handle and they said- “this is a wand” I was just wondering if you had any knowledge or intuition about what a silver (may be stainless steel but I have to check) wand may be best for? I keep thinking silver = moon but beyond that I’m not sure what I should be using it for (New to wands- thank you so much for your channel and your help)

Only if you are trying for a really specific energy (like a planetary wand). For general purposes I think the circumstances of the find make it the perfect wood, whatever it is!

I know about gemstone planatary correspondences, but not so much with wood. I find a lot of conflicting information about the day and the time to cut the wood and make the wand. I suppose they didn't go into what type of wand it is as I'm sure that would correspond to the tight day and hour. I have lots of gemstones and was wondering about mixing planets that are friendly. But I suppose there would be one primary planet. Also when it comes to gemstones, different cultures assign them to different planets. The vedic system seems to be the most in depth. If you see this comment, I am an anthropologist that would like to build something but also get some concise information I can compare and contrast. It's hard to find anything but gimmicky witches and Harry Potter videos when I try to research this stuff.

I have specific wands (7 planetary, 3 elemental) and general wands. My first wand was a piece of cedar from a tree that I had become quite close to and it was never adorned with crystals. I also have a faerie wand made from yew which has more crystals and stones than any of my other wands (apparently the fae really like rocks and colors and sparkles!). And yes, there is a lot of conflicting information out there on all the correspondences: wood, plant, crystal and stone. When I'm doing research into the subject I try to pick the correspondence that is the most common across several cultures or go back to more ancient source material but I also have to use some intuition and common sense. For a magical tool to be effective the individual that is using it needs to have made a link to the tool, so what stones are used, what material is used and how it is constructed can vary greatly depending on an individual's cultural background and implicit biases. The universe works through symbols but those symbols can be extremely specific to the individual user. One of the funnier (to me) incorrect crystal associations is aquamarine being attributed to air...I guess because of the color? Considering the name means basically water/water (aqua/marine) I fail to see why anyone would think such a thing! So sources are not always reliable and you have to think your way through it to some extent!

I buy gemstone beads from Fire Mountain Gems. They ship everywhere and you can order on-line. I pay attention to what they say about their stock so tend to buy natural and undyed and unheated beads for my wands. A staff can be used in a similar manner. I did a video on my staff that you can check out if you wish.

Does anyone know if titanium is a type of material to be used for this purpose? Is rubber and/or silicone a limiter?
@siofrasmagicalcove7293

Titanium is a non-magnetic metal so it would have different properties energetically than say copper or steel. Doesn't mean you can't use it though. I do not find that glue (rubber/silicone) hampers the energy in the wands that I make. How you feel about it is also a factor.

So here is the research that I have on my computer from several book sources. MAPLE (Acer spp.) A very hard, pale, fine-grained wood. Although the sugar maple has the highest sugar content in its sap, all maple species can be tapped to make syrup and sugar, making them a vital resource to early North American settlers. In north-eastern North America, the annual 'sugaring-off' usually coincides with the vernal equinox, making it one of the first signs of spring. Maple can bring success and abundance. It's the one tool that is doable with little skill. I certainly wouldn't be capable of making my own athame, for example!
