Impressive ship, what a beast. I was thinking it cant be too hard to find an equivalent transparent deep turqouise to that nightshade? Well, they might not be better though. Great stuff. keep it up!

😂 …I kept the crew off and magnetised the mast 😅. But the model was so badly out of shape, it needed far too much glue, filling etc to be able to do sub assemblies. Putting it together afterwards would have wreaked the paint job.

Oh WOOOOOWW!!! Now this is the ultimate in nostalgia! Forgeworld at the height of its greatness. So awesome seeing this blast from the past get your treatment. I've made attempts to get my hands on this model still in the box, but the few that are out there on Ebay, etc. were never less than about $600-$700. As much as I want one, I can't justify that price! (Nor can my wife, lol). HOWEVER, I warned my wife that if I did find one for around $400 of so that I would be hitting the Buy Button, and also probably sleeping on the couch for a few weeks. 😁

Looks great! So much work. I always love that approach to the wood. Btw, P3 Exile Blue might be a better quality alternative to the Deadly Nightshade.

That’s a good shout, I like the P3 range, though I think much of it is (or was) made by the same manufacturer.

Great job Stu! Really enjoyed watching this one take shape! I’m sure Jordan will love it! The rumour I’ve heard is that the mould for this model was broken shortly after release and the original sculptor had left FW meaning making repairs or a new mould was not possible. I hope it’s not true as it would be amazing to see this come back again!

Thank you James. Yeah I have doubts about it really coming back, even if they could fix the master to make a new mould, I think it’s potentially still too tricky to cast for them to make it worth it.

What a wonderful miniature that you absolutely did justice to. Your perseverance with the deadly night shade paid off as it does look very nice. Not sure how willing I would be to go through the hardship myself as I would likely aim for a similar shade from a different product. It would be great if little gems like this were released again even if on a made to order basis. Certainly I’m very hopeful that we will get some lovely bits of history along the way as GW works through the faction release schedule

@@MiniatureRealms Yes, I think the best way to avoid disappointment will be not have particular ones that you set hopes on but just appreciate the ones that do come out. So far for Bretonnians that has already included the hero quest knight and some other cool minis along the way.

re-caste, 3d printing there are plenty of options to recreate this eyesore of a modal that you can play, id say more suited for the vampire coast than Empire/Marienburg , stick some undead on it and spooky colors, job done.

Fantastic job! You may not call it 'display standard' but if I'd done that I'd display the hell out of it. Given what you were saying about seeing other videos for things you do regularly, like oil washes or skin, might it be an idea to do some 'how to' videos for those processes as a good reference point?

Thats a beast of a model, great paint job. Shields look amazing against the muted wood, all that paint wrangling was worth it. Just hope it doesn’t go up in smoke via a first turn calamity roll (that would be my luck 😊)

Heya, Do you follow the gradient from the bottom of the ship being darker brown and green, lightening it up towards the middle of the ship and the even lighter at the top. Or do you treat each wooden panel dark to light separately?
