Absofuckinlutely NO ONE could rock like Zevon, in his early years. Then, in his middle years, he grabbed you by the soul and the cerebral cortex and MADE you THINK. In his later years, he became the Life Teacher, recounting his life, his thoughts, his feelings, and tightened his grip on your deepest self. Then....he wrote and performed "The Wind", reached inside your chest, and took your heart with him when he left. Rocker, teacher, philosopher and by-God incredible example of genius that comes to you raw and unrefined...all these things and more. Rock the Pillars of Heaven, you amazing Renegade, you! I've enjoyed my sandwich, and my ride's here. I'll be seeing you again any day now, Warren. And it's alright....

Brenda Harper U should've done his eulogy! I've always known this song (who doesn't) but I'm just now getting into exploring the rest of his music. & it's def all good so far. Should've checked it out sooner. But there are ALOT of musicians out there that don't get their rightful due in my opinion & I'm searching them all out. & it takes awhile!

Did not know much of Warren's (considerable) talents before I saw him perform in a small club in my hometown - Brisbane, Australia - in the mid to late 1980s. He move effortlessly between 4 instruments and yet his voice was the the force de jour. He left more than a favourable impression as a talented singer song writer. Sadly, gone long before his time. Thanks for the memories.

It was a major venue for the NYC market. I imagine it was less costly to book an act there than in Manhattan at The Bottom Line or the Academy of Music on the east side highway.

@@chasbodaniels1744 We lived not to far away. Right near NJ Rt.3 on concert days, cars of kids would get off at our exit and ask for directions. It got to where they would pull up...we'd point and say...8 lights that way, turn left, 3 lights, and you're there.

The first time I saw him was in 1980-I was tired from working all day, so I wanted to relax and enjoy the show. Bruce Cockburn put on a great show. Warren started his set and had everyone one on the stage floor standing on the folding chairs- going absolutely crazy. One great song after another. He had everyone in his palm. I've see scores of concerts, and Zevon, by far, brought the house down. RIP Warren. I Miss You
