folks really shouldn't be commenting opinions of a character based on having seen the whole show. it's really a spoiler in my opinion. they should just let you watch free of any pre conceived notions of a character.

To be fair Dean is still alright for the most part in the first season but he get's worse real quick.

I always got the vibe that something would happen between Dean and Lorelai and it scared me

Dean loved Rory and Rory broke his heart. Dean never recovered from that break up and unfortunately got married while he still loved Rory. Rory goes from partner to partner cheating on all of them. Dean thought Rory was cheating on him and so he called and called, I get it. He just loved her. She cheated and needed to leave him alone.

I think the reason lorelai likes Dean, is because he reminds her of Christopher. I also think that the reason lorelai doesn’t like Jess, is because he reminds him of her. Jess and lorelai are like the same people.
