Basically the same as Maurice. But Maurice gets extra points for getting over his prejudice against Beast (hey him encountering Beast, locked up in the cell, out in the cold, almost asylum is traumatic) but it helps Adam became human again. If Beast stayed Beast not sure if Maurice would have liked Belle with him. Then again he liked his daughter too much. Just lingering concern. Mr. Porter faced a human from the get go, half-ape was almost instantly gone after he met Tarzan and being a professor, biologist plus likely anthropologist he gets more easily over non-human traits ^^

@embran8486
@embran8486 3 жыл бұрын
@@jp3813 Interesting. The sultan is accepting from the get-go, but let's be honest: all because of the way the story unfolded. Aladdin status would have been an issue if Aladdin did not uncover Jafar's threat & trickery. Also the Sultan is a bit funny in the head. If not for his final words or take on Aladdin as new "Grand Vizier" in Return of Jafar you would expect him to be senile. Still all three are awesome Disney dad's. You maybe can add old king/ Prince Charming's father to it too.

Out of all the Disney relationships, I think Tarzan's and Jane's had the most chemistry. Also, Tarzan, my man- a whole grown man, literally waited until he learned a whole language before he could kiss her. Teenagers take a language class for 4 years and still barely can form 6 sentences after. Truly he respected Jane because he waited until he can communicate and understand her before he showed actual intimacy. Even after he tries to kiss her and she becomes shy and turns away, he still tries to just look at her.

This is nothing like the book(s), though. No movie adaptation has come even close to the actual plot of the books, or the relationships between the characters. Book Tarzan basically teaches himself everything, including reading French after he discovers his family's shelter and possessions. He can't speak it properly but he understands it in the written form. And Clayton is an actual character in the book as well, but he's not a villain, he's part of the expedition and a friend of the Porters. Poor Clayton ends up dying in pretty grim circumstances but he's quite an honourable fellow, who loves Jane and does everything in his power to protect her, and who just happens to be Tarzan's cousin. The first time Tarzan and Jane meet they don't speak a word to eachother and only exchange any type of dialogue much later, after Tarzan has been taught how to speak English by someone else. There's a whole lot of more mature and things happening that never made it into the adaptations because the books aren't really kid-friendly.

I still can't believe as a kid I NEVER noticed the parents' bodies just laying there at 2:55 😨 This is possibly the first time we had a Disney musical done in this style where songs are mostly montages instead of sung outright by the characters (yes, except for Trashin' the Camp lol) But I think this mixed approach worked brilliantly for this movie. Also huge props to Mark Mancina for his soundtrack. I actually sung it to her while we danced and it made her ugly cry, the poor thing, but I didn't do it to be mean. But what’s so funny to me is when I watched it as a child w/ my mom, she told me it was my fave when I was a little baby as well. Everyone in my family said that I would cry a lot. Then one day I saw the movie Tarzan on and I would stop crying. So they started putting it on for me. Then when it would go off I would cry, so they would have to play it over and again. The music score for Tarzan still is so soothing and my fave, even tho I’m 20 now.😂😭

The name "Sabor", the leopardess that mauled Tarzan's human parents and Kerchak and Kala's infant, is actually the Mangani (the language of the fictional great apes that raised Tarzan instead of western lowland gorilla like this movie) term attributed to lionesses in the original books. "Sheeta" is actually given to leopards, but since lions aren't apex predators in the jungle, the name was given to the leopard. "You'll Be In My Heart" is essentially a lullaby for Phil Collins's daughter Lily. It definitely deserved the Oscar and Golden Globe wins. Brian Blessed, the voice of Clayton, had to do Tarzan's signature yell because Tony Goldwyn, the voice of Tarzan, couldn't pull it off. Making Tarzan "tree-surf" Tony Hawk -style will never not be the best thing about this movie, or any adaptation of the Tarzan stories. Truly pushing the boundaries of hand-drawn animation. I would kill for another film like this.

Flynn & Rapunzel at the very least definitely make a cameo at the end of Frozen. The Sundrop Flower is at the end of Moana. Rapunzel had a Sleeping Curse Spinning Wheel, a Pinocchio look-alike and a Pumba look-alike. As well as Fairytale books about Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty. Queen La of Opar in Legend of Tarzan resembled Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire. In the Tarzan novels, Opar was a lost colony of Atlantis. A fish resembling Flounder is in Jungle Book 2. The King and Grand Duke from Cinderella attend the wedding in Little Mermaid. Peter Pan’s shadow can be seen on the Kings royal proclamation in Cinderella. In Oliver & Company Ratigan from the Great Mouse Detective is in the photos of Georgette’s suitors and Bill the Lizard from Alice in Wonderland is working as one of his henchmen in Mouse Detective. Both Mouse Detective and Lilo & Stitch have toy Dumbo’s. In Oliver & Company Tito sings “Heigh-Ho” from Snow White and while Dodger sings ‘Why Should I Worry?’ we see Peg, Jock and Trusty from Lady and the Tramp being being walked by their owners. Presumably taking place after Lady & The Tramp since Peg was a stray. Younger Peg is sitting in a Pet Shop window in 101 Dalmations. Lady and Tramp are also apart of 101 Dalmatians Twilight Bark. Jasper and Horace appear to be driving the Milkman’s Milk Truck from Aristocats. Amos Slade from Fox and the Hound being the hunter that killed Bambi’s Mother, and the Pheasant & Ducks from Little April Showers are in Fox and the Hound. Bambi and his Mother as well as the bird from April Showers are seen in the Rescuers during Someone's Waiting for You. Tinkerbell is in the Fairy Cave in the Black Cauldron. Belle, Magic Carpet and two more Pumba look-alikes have cameos in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The Genie shape-shifted into Pinocchio & Pocahontas. A Beast figure is in the Sultans Tower of exotic creatures in Aladdin. How about Hercules and the Arabian Night? An actual Aladdin crossover episode on Hercules the Animated Series that confirms the two are in the same universe. Plus Scar’s pelt throwrug in Hercules. Lilo & Stitch the Series also had crossover episodes with Kim Possible, American Dragon Jake Long, Proud Family, and Disney’s Recess. A Stitch Toy is seen in Treasure Planet. That connects Frozen, Moana, Tangled, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, the Great Mouse Detective, Dumbo, Lilo & Stitch, Oliver & Company, Lady & The Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Snow White, Bambi, The Aristocats, Fox and the Hound, the Rescuers, the Black Cauldron, Beauty & the Beast, Tarzan, Atlantis, Jungle Book, Little Mermaid, Hercules, Aladdin, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lion King, Kim Possible, American Dragon Jake Long, Proud Family, Disney’s Recess, and Treasure Planet. One of my own personal theories is that Cinderella, Aurora, and Anita Radcliff are all relatives. They’re remarkably similar to each other because Helene Stanley was the live model for all of them. A girl that bears a striking resemblance to them, has a cameo in Oliver & Company. disney.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_cameos_in_Disney_films?file=Oliver-company-disneyscreencaps.com-3295.jpg The only film that is undoubtedly fictional in their universe is Mulan. There’s a movie poster in Lilo’s bedroom. However, a Little Brother toy falls out of Archimedes’s pocket when the Gorillas have him flipped upside down. So there’s a theory that a relative of his could possibly go on to work in the film industry, and were inspired by his toy dog.

@Zain Hartono My apologies, I wasn’t trying to imply you were saying that. I was just noting all of the connections throughout the Disney Universe that weren’t already mentioned. I totally understand feeling like they’re in different eras. Technically Frozen II disproves Chris Bucks idea of them being Tarzans parents. They were apparently heading north across the Dark Sea attempting to reach Ahtohallan. So they could find the source of Elsa’s powers. Honestly, I’d prefer it if Frozen didn’t exist. As a whole it’s such a waste of potential and a huge disservice to Hans Christian Andersen‘s Snow Queen. Which is particularly sad considering they were working on adapting it as far back as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937. They shelved it. Restarted the project in the late 90’s, scrapped it again in 2002. Had numerous unsuccessful attempts before they shelved it again. Chris Buck came on board in 2008 because he was inspired to write a different kind of story. Entered development hell in 2010 and it wouldn’t be until 2013 that it got released. That’s about 76 years, and rather than adapt the actual story they completely re-wrote it. Even naming the villain after the original author. That’s seriously disrespectful to the person who’s legacy your making money off of. The Snow Queen is a beautiful, wonderful fairy tale that deserved better. Hallmark’s Snow Queen (2002) and TMS Entertainment‘s Snow Queen (2005) are so much better. The one thing so many adaptions get very wrong is the Snow Queen being portrayed as a villain. When in reality she, much like Ursula, was a neutral figure in the fairytale. Depending on how you view the Snow Queens actions, they actually lead to a lot of good because without her Gerda (Not Anna!) wouldn’t of been able to go on that long journey to save Kai (Not Kristoff! Definitely not Elsa!) from his cursed frozen heart. Absolutely no one in Frozen goes through any meaningful growth or journey. It just goes through the motions as if they did. Much like Brave.

Kala is one of the best Disney moms. She went through unfathomable loss and pain and instead of becoming bitter, she adopted a total stranger's baby and loved him and raised him with all the tenderness in the world. She deserves more appreciation. And Jane's dad is one of the best Disney dads. He supports Jane's scientific inclinations and art, he supports her loving Tarzan, and he gives up his high-paying scientific job back in England to live with Jane and Tarzan in the jungle. The animated series also confirms he raised Jane alone after her mother died in childbirth. (Plus Tarzan's biological parents were truly dedicated to making the best of a literal shipwreck.) In Kerchak's defense they JUST lost their own child and then Kala comes back with this strange baby wanting to keep him. It's why he presses so insistently to know if Tarzan really is alone. He has to keep his family safe and having strange creatures come looking for their lost baby would certainly make it more difficult. However you can see he softens slightly when Kala tells him Sabor killed the parents given that Sabor killed their child. He's not really given time or the ability to grieve before Tarzan is suddenly brought into the picture, so his response is not entirely unfounded. Especially since, in his eyes, it seems like Kala just replaced their child with Tarzan. However, when he does finally accept Tarzan Kerchak proves that whomever he sees as part of his family he will protect with everything he has, given the way he charges Clayton. You can see he is PISSED.

The sad thing is got the thing that final got Tarzan to be even slightly accepted by Kerchak was what also almost completely tore them apart: the humans. After the gunshot, Kerchak is beside Tarzan and calls for EVERYONE to get a move on to safety and when Tarzan slinks off he doesn't immediately search for him like he thinks he snuck off, he instructs and pushes the order but still talks to him at the family meeting where Tarzan snaps at Kala about not being told there were others like him. Tarzan gave up the body because leader or not, Tarzan came in and took Sabor's attention, he was her opponent now. So when he triumphed Kerchak left as though the title of family defender was Tarzan's, but he gave up the body as respect, see hoe he smiles and gives her corpse a respectful laying upon the ground before Kerchak, but he slinks back and stands down submissively. He wasn't asking for love and acceptance, just and understanding that he didn't want to take over. That's not even talking about their interactions through their actual fight and Kerchak calling the herd "our family" and "betrayed 'us all'", the triumphant "prodigal son returning" or Kerchak's end.

The baboon chase and Tarzan’s fight with Sabor are without a doubt my favorite moments from this movie! Also, if Disney was to make this live action, I would want either Wyatt Russell, Luke Bracey, or Jai Courtney to play Tarzan.

Fun fact: Glen Keane, the supervising animator for Tarzan and known for animating other characters like Ariel, Beast, the bear from Fox and the Hound, Aladdin, was inspired by his son at the time who was skateboarding to add those stunts that Tarzan would do when swinging and surfing on the branches.

I loved all of the songs growing up. I was very frustrated and going through ppd after just having a baby and not being able to feed her because my milk never developed. One day I was sitting down and the song "you'll be in my heart" started to play.My baby was CRYING and I had given her a bottle, changed her diaper and was holding her. I didn't know what to do, but for some reason that song was playing and she stopped crying. "Come stop your crying, it'll be alright, just take my hand hold it tight" I sang the song to her, I put my finger in her small hand and she stopped crying. She fell asleep... My husband was at work, he went back to work a week after my c section and I was home alone with a baby I didn't know, and in pain because I was still healing and that song did so much for me in a few seconds! So now I sing it to her whenever she cries, it works most times, but I'm more calm now and when she cries I just make sure I tell her I love her and that its ok. She's going to be 3 months in a few days. You know how people share a song with their significant other? Welp this is my song that I share with my daughter. It was a song that bonded me to my baby. "you'll be in my heart... always" makes me cry every single time! I just subscribed to you! Thanks for posting these!

Also if you’ve never watched the original/first Land Before Time movie it’s is soooo good! The others I like, but are definitely more ‘kids’ movies. The original is way more intense!

Tarzan's strength must have been absolutely INSANE to even tackle Kerchak like that, and he was even able to hold him in place!

The animators used videos of Tony Hawk skateboarding to craft some of Tarzan’s moves when he’s swinging and climbing through the trees! So cool.
