I BOUGHT My High School Z28 Chevy Camaro BACK And It's TRASHED

Don't buy your old cars back, you'll be disappointed. I bought my 1994 Chevy Camaro Z28 back after 8 years and it has been completely trashed! This pony car was an absolute blast when I picked it up as a junior in high school but it's lived a very rough life ever since. The LT1 V8 and 4L60E are still plugging away at their jobs but the rest of the car isn't very happy about that. Most of the interior is destroyed, the tires are mismatched and shot, it's been plastidipped, hood pins were installed... Fixing it as-is would be a project but I want to start from scratch and do a ground up with a modern LT1 package.

Here’s the gear and camera equipment I’m using!
Helmet: amzn.to/2zaSAAm
Gloves: amzn.to/2zbAIFH
Camera: amzn.to/2hS3PKy
Tripod: amzn.to/2hLX3Ta
---------------------------------------------------------------
Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Fury, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make KZfaq videos and work in enterprise data storage.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
inWhere can I keep up with you off the bike?
Instagram: WatchJRGo
Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

Someday could have one still because I’m guessing it would be sometime in the 70s when you first started driving judging by your title name correct me if I’m wrong and because those are older maybe not fully vintage but classic vehicles there is probably somebody who bought one of yours off of you used it years ago started having problems was it parked it and one day said you know I am going to fix this and I could either still be in that state sitting in their barn or they know enough to restore it

I feel your pain man! I sold my first truck in mint condition about 8 years ago. I put a lot of work into making it what it was. I never saw it again until about a year ago, I saw it parked in the bone yard of a used car lot. I impulsively bought it back for pretty much scrap price. It is sad to see how bad this truck was hacked and trashed. I could buy a perfectly sorted truck identical to mine for half of what it will take to get this thing back to the day i sold it. But its was my first truck and was once my pride and joy... I guess i feel i owe it to the ol girl! Good luck man! I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work.

Bought a still new '93 Z in January of '94, drove it off the showroom floor with 7 miles on the odometer. I was 23, my first new car purchase and I loved it. Was dark purple metallic also. Only difference between '93 & '94 model years as far as I recall was the '93 gauges and dash had all yellow letters & numbers - they changed to all white in '94. Put 50k miles in the 3 years I owned her - moved to NYC then so I had to sell. Back then 275 factory horses was ridiculous and a LOT of fun to drive. One of these days when I have time for a project car I'd love to find another one (I'm sure my old one is long gone) to bring back to life, similar to what you're doing. Have fun and keep up the great work on your channel!

There was once a movie about a magnificent black stallion owned by a 16 y/o boy for 2 years before the boy went away to WWII, many years later the boy, now a man, came across an old broken down horse pulling a trash wagon. That's right, it was his stallion, now 20 years old and swayback. It was an English movie, but everyone that watched it was heartbroken. He bought the horse and put it in a pasture next to his home and the last scene was the man walking out to visit the old horse and seeing him as he was when he a 3 y/o stallion. Thank God you can rebuild a car to make it even BETTER than when it was new.

My first car was a '73 Z-28 that I had taken a '66 Corvette 327 block and had built. It had the factory Auto-cross suspension under it with a 4-speed manual transmission. It was putting out 600 HP when I dropped it in. Then I got married and had to sell it. The person who bought it lit the tires up and didn't bother shifting and blew the engine up. They had to replace the entire front end. I seen it about 8 months later with the new front on it. Would have loved to have it back in the condition it was in when I got rid of it.

your camero reminds of when my dad worked for the county HY dept they had a 1962 White 4000 coupe cab lowboy tractor that the windshield would jump up and down, the doors had fellen off and the hinges were welded back on cause the bolt holes stripped out, the cab was bout to fall off, the 220 cummins was patched to gather with parts out of the local rock companys junk pile and half the the time the fifth wheel wouldn't stay latched

My high school car: my parents' 1972 VW Beetle. My first car: college graduation, 1967 VW Beetle, powder blue. We fully restored it and sold it to a hippy in about 1993. I have only owned 4 cars in my life, the last of which I just bought last weekend, but I love them just the same.

My 3rd car was also my first really nice one. A 1987 IROC 5.0 TPI with 215HP, Auto, power everything and t-tops. I resealed the t tops behind the rubber and they never leaked ( even in a car wash ) and it ran 14.9 in the 1/4 mile. It was a deep red color. I have 1 picture of it ( shot on 35mm ) and all my original finance paperwork. I paid 384/month for it back in 1990. I loved that car and even though I have owned 4 Corvettes since, it is one of my favorite cars. Glad you got yours back. Later in life I bought a 1993 Z-28 and then in 98, bought a brand new, just off the car hauler, 1998 LS1 Firebird Formula with power everything and t tops. $25K and I got the first one in my town. I still miss the old 87 IROC though. I now drive a Buick Rainier SUV with 275 HP. I am older and the SUV is so much easier to get into. It runs 16.0 in the 1/4 mile, not bad for a 4200 lb beast that can tow 6700 lbs.

Memories flood back as my 1994 Z28 Black HardTop grey cloth auto came to me with all the hacked crap. It was a rebuilt salvaged car from New York. It blew the transmission and engine within 1000 miles of ownership. That started a forged 383 from NutekMotorspots and "built" 4l60e races it back in 2003-2004. Ran ok but limited to actual emission sniffer test. Had BMR everything moser 12 bolt and lt4 hotcam. 100k miles beat to crap Got sick of dealing with LS1s and joined that camp after the transmission burnt up the 2nd time, valve dropping, and burned main bearings. Take notice why nutek is no longer around. Sold it as a roller and bought a near mint 2002 Trans Am 6 speed leather t top in navy blue metallic and a taupe interior with 30k and well taken care of. The truly girl driven car. Hot girl from Boston - accent and all *hotness* Side note my hood struts took a dive when my hand was on the fender and nearly chopped my fingers off so very thankful for the plastic fenders. #memories

Remember my 1996 Z28. Drive side window guide was hashed, dash rattled, and the synchros for 5th and 6th were shot. Did love that car but that platform had its share of problems. Darn Optispark anywho. Though my high school car was a 1976 AMC Pacer with a 3 on the tree. The Camaro was a huge step up from that.

I just found your channel tonight somehow, and watched your Civic, Accord, and Volvo flips. I never subscribe to KZfaq channels, but I smashed that subscribe button tonight! This video makes me want me to find my 1987 Camaro Z28 from high school. It was 2003, I was 16, and it was fun as hell. Two tone, black with silver ground effects, 90k original miles and documentation from the original owner included. The paint was destroyed and it needed a tune up, bought it for $800. Fixed it all up, put it in the paint shop, installed a bad ass sound system, but otherwise kept it stock. Ran and drove smooth, T-Tops didn't leak, AC worked, even the mechanical hatch still functioned. Sold it a year later for $2500... I'm 31 now and still kick myself. I still remember the VIN number by heart!

So known story. :) I was Mazda fan for long time and then I bought trade in 1998 Volvo C70 T5 in Saffron gold. Fully loaded. Dynaudio system, Alcantara interior. Car was tired, fixed paintwork, put orignal wheels, clear headlights and frille from facelift model. Enjoyed the car. Lost my driving license for 3 month with that car. :D Was quick. And then I sold it. And regret it. Life moved forward and 10 years later bought the same car back. Full respray, engine repairs, maintenance and t is back at my driveway all its glory. And hope here to stay.

I just recently bought back my 90 mustang that I sold almost 8 years ago. It used to be an awesome almost stock great running car, all original interior. Sold it to a friend, he put a crazy 347 stroker, manual steering, no a/c, different seats, bad paint, all of it. Bought it back from a different friend who had bought it from him and now the engine blew up. Just not worth it to buy my old car.

i have a 96 Z28 LT1. car has 247K on it, freshly rebuilt 4L60E last spring, with all of the goodies. shift kit, corvette servo, 2,200 stall converter, better internals (hardened sunshell, bands, spregs, ect ect). the car is free of rot (originally a cali car) but the paint has seen better days. the paint was worn when i got the car 5 years ago. it hasnt been getting any better, the cost of painting a car is just difficult to come up with. i dont know what has been done to the LT1, it runs strong and i ever did to the engine was ignition (opti, wires, plugs), intake manifold gasket leak repaired ( had an oil leak, i removed the intake and installed new gaskets with a bead of RTV), and replaced valve cover gaskets. these cars fun cars to own and drive but they need their TLC to keep them going. my interior is pretty rough, im looking at custom made to fit seat covers, $110 for the back $110 for the front. they are tight fitting seat covers designed to fit the specific seat not universal walmart crap. the felt is separating from the head liner. the dash is cracked. the head unit is shot time for a new stereo. its hard to devote money to the car when you have 2 young kids at home and all of the associated expenses with raising children. 1. im not selling the car. 2. i try to fix it up as the tight budget allows. 3. i have managed to keep it running, i replaced all the shocks, struts, bushings, motor mounts. time and money BTW i was watching your video and my 2 year old son walked up to the TV recognized the car and the interior shots and pointed at it..... LOL. he has ridden in the car many times.

Wish I still had that car even though I had a later 2001 with LS that was much better in many ways. Sold the 2001 to best friend who still has it in his garage with less than 60k miles on it. He started disassembly to do a bunch of mods and it is still sitting there. Look forward to seeing your finished project.
