You will have no problem finding a place to camp. Thanks for the excellent quality knives you are producing William. I believe you are just scratching the surface! Take care.

Great review...!!! I have the nessy in a flat grind, before William was putting out the multi-grind version. It's an awesome little knife...and is has been my dedicated river knife since April. It has handled everything a knife is suppose to over many, many days of river kayak camping....!!! Just an awesome knife design....!!!

I appreciate you tuning in and commenting brother! I could tell you were fond of your LARK :) It looks like you have put it to good use and I am happy to hear it is treating you well. Yours would be the ideal food prep and skinning knife I bet. I got the multigrind in hopes that it would be the best of both worlds. I think it will serve me very well cutting meat, skinning, cleaning fish in the field and other food prep while still being able to whittle and do light fire prep, carve trap triggers, etc. William is a smart man indeed :) Take care Todd!

Interesting knife, interesting alloy. I have never heard of that stainless alloy before. An stainless alloy that meets or exceeds 1095 0r A2 got my attention quick. I love 1095 especially 1095 Cro Van. The knife configuration is quite interesting and would spur me to endless experimentation, the question is could I afford such a knife. Being a poor NC boy doesn't make it any easier, many of us have grown up poor, that live in this state. Those from outside the state bring their money and drive up prices and taxes, leaving us poorer. I spend a lot of time in the woods looking for things to craft with a knife. That WC knife is so radically different in appearance and concept, I would love to have one to show it off to all my buddies at the little country store where we all gather from time to time, talking about knives, guns, bushcraft, survival and old timers. I would have to experience the knife before I talked about it and then let them try it out themselves at our meet togethers. But I can't justify the expenditure on something entirely unknown and you haven't demonstrated very much on this video. We have woods out here that have nearly uncarvable wood and all my buddies know which woods are practically impossible to carve. Having a transitional grind, going from one grind and ending up with another would possibly create the need to modify sharpening techniques. Have you yet sharpened the blade ? Or I assume the blade is pristine that you are using. Finally, isn't it dangerous for the tip of the knife to be a flat grind or does the alloy permit the grind without risk of fracturing , chipping or breaking? Well, anyway at least you know my ignorance about the knife, my poverty and the kind of guys that buy knives at the country store where we gather and talk. Take good care and God bless you and those you love ! Later !
@blackhatbushcraft4 жыл бұрын
Hello Peter and thanks for your interest and time. I am curious what part of NC are your from? I totally understand about spending extra money on knives because I used to think $50.00 was steep for a knife :) Over the years I have come to appreciate the differences in design, materials, craftsmanship, etc. AEBL has become a fairly popular steel in custom knives as of late. I know LT Wright is also using it. WC has a special heat treat process which William has developed and that is part of why this steel has the characteristics it does. He has done a great job with it and it is building popularity. I have honed this knife with a ceramic rod and it is very easy to do. The reason is that the angle of the grind is the same from the base to the tip on the cutting edge. I did a review of my WC Jr. Woodsman a little while back kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7xdbJiixsyuomw.html and I demonstrate honing it in the field. It has a multigrind as well. I think the tip could be abused and broken if it was misused. The key is to use it with good technique and slice with it. I would not choose to baton this knife, especially on the tip. So, this country store sounds like a really special place!! When I was growing up, there was a little country store down the road from where my Papa lived. (It's near where most of my videos are filmed) It was a magical place and my cousin and I still reminisce about how wonderful it was. They had homemade pickled red hots, and dill pickles, cut to order hoop cheese, fresh local produce, ice cold drinks in the old fashioned bottles which we turned back in for refunds. In the back was a little pot-bellied wood stove which people would sit by in Fall and Winter. You could buy snack cakes, pork and beans, fishing tackle, fresh meats, and a ton of other supplies there. That is just a few highlights. Needless to say, little country stores have a special place in my heart! Take care Peter and I hope you stick around for more to come!

Great video! Interested in your hoodie, is it wool? Who is the manufacturer? Looking for a good wool or wool blend hoodie. Thanks in advance for your response. Keep up the good work.
@blackhatbushcraft4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words Susan and for tuning in to the video! My hoodie is one that was made from a 100% wool USGI Blanket. I did the measurements myself and had a friends wife who was a seamstress make it for me. It has served me very well for several years now and I truly enjoy it. There is however a great option for you that is as good as any wool outer garment made in my opinion and that is the Lester River Bushcraft Boreal Shirt. I own one of those as well and have worn it in different videos, check it out here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y52BhMeEqsXMepc.html. The Boreal Shirt is built to perfection in every way as far as I am concern and would serve you well for many years. Here is a link to check these out further on Lester River's site: lrbushcraft.com/lester-river-bushcraft-100-wool-boreal-shirt-anorak/. The guy who makes them is Jason Gustafson. Not that I get anything for it but feel free to tell him I sent you :) Thanks again for your interest and kind words Susan.
