I bought this knife to honor Elijah Isham who is the designer and whom we lost recently in an accident. He was a revolutionary knife designer, artist, and a great friend to many.

I sadly did not know about this designer until after his passing. I decided today to purchase the Arrakis + Civivi mystery box and I ended up getting the Lazar as well. So happy to be able to appreciate two gorgeous knives designed by a very talented designer.

RIP Young knife designer 🙏. No matter his circumstances, his designs are unique and unlike anything else. Hate them or like them, they are a piece of history.

Elijah was my favorite designer of all time. I have a bunch of his designs. The arrakis is one of my favorite knives and imo one of the greatest knives of all time. Really bridged the art knife and production knife worlds.

Well I had long wanted to pull the trigger on the Arrakis being a huge DUNE fan myself. I really like the design and honestly now I think the price is good for what you get, though it was price that stopped me before. I was shocked at the story but he’s left behind so much inspiration to others. I hope he’s found peace.

I'd kept putting off buying an Arrakis, but when Isham died I decided to go ahead and get on. I got the flamed, full ti version and I absolutely love it.... even if it is smaller than expected!

I never had an Isham knife, nor knew anything about the guy. I admired the boldness of his designs; I am an SF nerd but I don't carry any really SF-inspired knives (unless the Roxi 3 counts, but I didn't buy it, even though I love it...). Condolences to sll those he left behind

Definatly a cool looking knife and looks like it has a comfortable grip as well. Nice to see a blend of form and function mind you the holes in the blade might cause a problem depending on what your cutting. Awesome of you to do this for his family. Thanks for the vid.

Awesome idea doing this for the Isham family, I only have 2 of Elijah's designs, the Theta, made by Kizer, it's small but a good utility blade in my opinion, and the Zeta made by WE, kept as a collector piece. I like the flippers on Elijah's designs... Once I got use to the index finger placement.

Rest in peace. He was a talented designer with an unique style. I admired his designs such as the arrakis, kizer theta, and BRS eon; but never picked them up cause I couldn't carry them lefty. I might finally pick up one of his designs in tribute. I saw there are left handed kizer megatheriums still available

I too also never really appreciated Elijah Knives because they are just not my style. I have always respected the creativity of his designs though. I only know of his reputation because of the many people in the community that knew and loved him and those he inspired. Thanks for doing this and thanks for sharing.

Man now I really want one of these. The first time I'd seen them, wasn't so into it. Love this design though. Looks like something from Chronicles of Riddick, doesn't it?

Check out the Megatherium, you'll be surprised that all his designs feel and function so much more than first visuals present. Visually I have liked them but, most take the in hand experience to get him.

Was a fan of this design from first time I saw it but it wasn't for me. Bought one during one of your lives when you mentioned maybe buying one. It's an impressive knife and art piece in one. Glad I have one. Would like a CF one too now 😬.

It's still hard to imagine he's gone. I have several of his designs. I was thinking of adding that design to my collection as well but it's a little out of my price range at the moment. How do we get in on your raffle? I looked for a link but didn't see it.

The knife design talent pool is certainly poorer and we will never know what the future could have brought of Elijah designs. He was unique, distinctive and easily distinguishable. RIP.

I have the full titanium flamed version. Its actually pretty heavy for the size, the balance on it is excellent, i'm guessing the carbon verion was an afterthought maybe? I was looking at this for a long time and only decided to purchase after he passed away...but I straight up fell in love with this thing when it arrived. Btw, m390 is mentioned on top of the flipper tab. Oh, and if you look carefully, it's actually a mid-hollow grind blade (easier to see on the dark bladed version). Only downside is the double clutch thing and it also has some ever-so-slight pivot lash issues.

Yeah I had a gripe with SMKW back when the para 3 spirit run in s45vn green g10 was released I payed didn't hear anything for a week called them they said I didn't get one and refunded my money that didn't settle to well just got my first order since Thursday just a rough rider reserve Barlow that big Red made me buy LOL. Sometimes we have to forgive "sometimes" 😂 can't wait to catch up my friend !! Come on Atlanta 2022

I had ordered one of these over the Rike Thor 7 because the Arrakis was less 👽-like. Mine is incredibly smooth on closing and fires really well. It's almost dangerously sharp! The ergos are also surprisingly comfortable. I got the titanium with the blued stripes. The weight is really well balanced in full Ti. I'd be happy to help out and pick up this one with your raffle.

@@LeftyEDC heat treatment is lacking in m390. Don't blame me, blame the knife manufacturer's. Oh man what happened that he passed? I can't say I liked the guys designs but that sucks regardless.

@@tacticalcenter8658 my point was this was a topic 2-3 years ago. Noone talks about it anymore because the companies have done their best to BT M390 in an acceptable range. They follow the protocol given to them by Crucible. So my thought is, why dont we criticize Crucible instead of the production companies? Thats like if DiGiornio put on the pizza box to cook at 130 degrees for 20 mins. Every pizza would suck, but would you blame your mom for cooking it wrong or them for crappy instructions ? 😂

Cancel culture has leaked over to heat treat now and we cant have a conversation? All you say is, “the heat treat is bad” no explanation of what a good heat treat would be, who does it, why it matters so much, and no conversation, just “you dont agree?.. unfollow” enjoy talking to the wall, maybe it will agree with everything you say
