Condolences to JJ’s family. I lost my 18 year old daugther 28 years ago. She was on her bycycle when she was hit by a car, A young man driving to fast lost control over his car. There hasn’t been a day when I did not think of her. You never ever get over it, but after some years you slowly learn to live with it. regards Kel from Denmark I started follow you when you bought Zatara in Greece. Thank you for many lovely esperiences.

My sister passed away at 16yrs old from a P.E. Losing a family member is tough but that pain is multiplied when that loved one is lost at a young age. I’d see younger girls out and about or around the college campus and think she should be enjoying those moments. It’s been about 7 years and I still catch myself about to text her. Sending my condolences and hope as well to the original commenter and all of those reading this who have lost a loved one suddenly ..

I lost 3 of my closest friends growing before I was 18 just before going into the NAVY. 1 cancer 2 due to stupid accidents... keeping busy and involved in the NAVY was what got me through it. I think about them all the time. Keep JJ in your life's... you will NEVER forget him, so don't even try to "move past him"... move with him !!!

Wow, the JJ subject was still so incredibly raw. Although it’s hard to watch, it’s so beautiful to see how much you all loved him. That being said, your children are learning such valuable things from this that will make them even more amazing and resilient as adults. This is unquestionable proof of how a healthy family dynamic can strengthen the healing from such a sad tragedy. Again my condolences to all who knew JJ. May his legacy be cherished.

Good tribute to JJ. Well done. Moms and dads ain’t supposed to put their kids in the ground. That’s not the way it works. I lost my oldest son to homicide in 2018. He was 26. It’s darned hard to get over. I know the feels of JJ’s kin. My hearts out to them. ❤😢 🙏

I was surprised a few years ago when I learned that they advise against the traditional hand positions of 10 & 2, instead preferring 9 & 3 or 4 & 8. This was brought about because of the Air Bags in the steering wheel. I had driven with the 10 & 2 most of my life. It didn't take long to make the switch. Plus it brought another level of comfort to driving. Keith is very thorough in his teaching style, gentle and encouraging. He is brief in his explanations, yet I can tell that ten thousand scenarios are running through his mind and he works hard at keeping those in check and staying in the present. Keith and Renee, you have raised some amazing young adults. It's been a treasure watching you all grow these past years. I can say years, because yes I did binge watch for a few months. It was great to see the world through each of your eyes.

yes and feeding the steering wheel through the hands and never crossing your hands over, in UK it's fail.. also try the matchbox on the dash to test hill stats, put the mirror at an angle so the tester sees you moving your head showing mirror use...

My condolences to you and the Rice family for your loss. I lost my stepson ,whom I raised ,in a tragic car accident and you never fill the void or stop hurting. You only learn to live on. I know Jack must be really hurting. I know he could use a hug from his parents. I’m glad Kate is there to help. I hope the Zatara survived the hurricane. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Hey Finn, you be careful out there. Don’t be too trusting. There are those who would take advantage. Get a dog. It will warn and protect you. Go with god. We’ll be watching your channel.

I’ve lived in Hawaii for 50 years and I know three people that have died from Shallowater blackouts and two of them weren’t alone they had their close friends with them. The other one was using an aqua scooter, trying to go through a cave so he was by himself. So sorry to hear of your loss

As a catastrophe insurance adjuster since 2002, now retired, I am very concerned for Zatara. I hope somehow she came through this storm without any major damage. I worked many hurricane claims in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Texas and I know firsthand how devastating these winds and storm surges can be.

I am so sorry for the loss of your longtime family friend. I pray for the comfort and peace needed to heal that wound in your hearts, but like you said Renee, one really never recovers completely when it comes to the loss of a child. I pray for the family in Tonga and your children there dealing with the grief firsthand. That's great Jack is helping them out with those repairs. Thank you for this week's video, Renee, as always you do an excellent job of putting things together and linking everything going on your end along with what is happening behind the scenes. A lot is packed into one video. All the best Finn on passing your driving test, you will do fine. I won't be driving much in the next few weeks just knowing you might be out there though....LOL.

Seeing how hot it was when you all were there truly explains how Beryl rapidly strengthened as fast as it did. Happy that marina was safe and the eye went south of the boats location. Hope the people of the islands recover quickly, and come back stronger. The news about JJ is hard as well 😞.

Yup, sails off when on the hard. The boat next to mine had an issue with their headsail and the boat was taken off of its jack stands in a storm resulting in a broken mast, trashed ridding, broken bullkheads and more

Condolences to your family who knew JJ and to his family. Indeed it is a loss that you never fully get over - the lovely memories you have of him will help you relieve the emptiness. Hope you didn't suffer too much damage from the hurricane. When I heard Beryl was heading to Grenada I thought of you particularly with your delays in getting there where supposedly you were in a safe zone. Indeed Mother Nature can change the norms when you aren't expecting it.

Terribly sorry to hear about JJ! I'm heartbroken. I remember all those times he appeared in Zatara videos. So full of adventure and life. 💔 The Cruising Kiwi nearly had the same happen to their eldest, Finn, not long ago during a free-dive. Thankfully the others were able to find Finn quick enough. After some medical attention, spanning several days, he was able to make a full recovery. I'll keep his family, and all you guys, in my prayers 🙏

There are no words of comfort for all the emotions felt in what you're all experiencing, everyone grieves differently, and that's okay to not be okay sometimes. This has been compacted by other senses of loss in missing your kids being away plus the death of a dear family friend. My heart goes out to the Rice family too. It's almost too much to bare seeing how close you all are, you feel it that so much more. Hope you find solace in one another staying in contact often and looking forward to reuniting soon again. Many wonderful memories created to cherish, thank you for sharing your journey, we have been blessed to see how far you've come, grown and prospered from when y'all started. Great video! Wonderful job driving Finn,!! So incredibly sorry for your loss you all suffered. 😢 I have lost many friends & family. It doesn't get easier but we learn how to go on in life!!
