@@heroicxidiot Idk, the latter half had Connor catch up by straight up describing Oshi no Ko wrong. The show literally explained how Aqua found Akane. He's also complaining how the author is lazy with the details showing the realities of social media while also complaining how the author shoudn't have used a real case of online harassment as a point of reference. So does he want the author to do reasearch or not? It felt like gatekeeping just because he's an influencer. I'm with him that the MC is dramatic as fuck but the show never exagerrated him being a genius. Like, how is brute forcing to unlock a phone for 3 years "genius"? He is more of a manipulator which is pretty realistic. There's tons of manipulative people irl tbf.

It's more funny that he complains Garnt didn't enjoy JW4 cuz he missed the subtleties from not watching JW3... then proceeds to complain about Oshi no Ko and displays that he clearly did not understand the plot (just like with 86) and proceed to say it was weird and bad lol... For those interested, he states that the MC stalks the girl and saves her and that was weird, it was specifically stated that that only happened because there was a storm and one of their friends told their group that she had left her house and didn't hasn't gone home. Girl hasn't left her house in weeks, the MC couldn't give two shits about her normally, let alone stalk her. As for the "editing makes her not depressed" take, in this case it was editing that made her depressed in the first place, that's why it could fix it. The reason she was getting flak from the internet was because the director of the show only decided to edit in the flame-baiting parts of the characters' relationship, so the group comes up with the counter method of editing and showing how the cast is like outside of the screen to show that the narrative was actually not at all how the directors/producers portrayed it. With 86, Connor's monke brain took the show to be "racism bad, I get it," whereas the entire point was about a girl who knew "racism bad," "tried" to fight it, and got called out for her half-assed sympathy. The point of 86 was never about racism, it was a story about a post apocalyptic world where racism was only a very small part of one section of the story, and as realistic as it is, that specific issue was never magically resolved with anime magic logic like it did in One Piece. Man, this, along with the recent Connor canvas mod nuke shenanigans, outside of the Mouse stuff, he's been making L takes and L moves all around lately.

I know it's been out for a month, but I just wanted to share Raul Julia's story as to why he took on the role of M bison and why he gave 110%. At the time, Julia knew he was dying of cancer. He had maybe one or two film roles left before sickness would take him, so he wanted to take on a role that a) his kids could see and b) his family could stay with him during filming. Street Fighter was a game his kids loved, so he knew his kids and their friends would see it, and it was filmed in Australia so he and his family got to do some snorkling and see sydney together as some of their last vacation memories. Plus, and this is from Raul himself, the script called for him to beat up Jean Claude Van Damme and he enjoyed that as it was a moment where he got to feel powerful again. A brief reprieve, to be sure, but one he enjoyed as he knew his time on this earth drew to a close. He proceeded to chew on every piece of scenery when the cameras were rolling and made sure to deliver each line as if he was on stage in front of her majesty the Queen, so that each and every line would be memorable. I think that energy caught on and so everyone else had to bring some energy to match. And to this day, people don't look at Tuesday, or 5 british pounds, the same way....RIP Raul Julia....You made it a point to send it and by God did you ever.

As a long time MMA fan, just wanted to address a few things the boys got wrong. While their are certainly risks involved in MMA fights that don't in boxing, such as hyperextensions from joint locks, or fractures from kicks, the long term health of the athletes is actually much better than boxing. It looks a lot more brutal because the smaller gloves are more likely to localize damage, making more cuts, breaking bones, etc. However, the gloves weigh SIGNIFICANTLY less than boxing gloves. This means that the hits are actually less powerful, and transfer less energy into the brain, which is what causes long term brain damage in fighters. Which brings me to the next big thing they got wrong- fight stoppage is way faster, and way more common in MMA than boxing. If you get knocked down in MMA, that's usually a fight ender, whereas in boxing you get a ten count. That ultimately means better long term health implications for fighters. Lastly, the inhaler bit. While life saving medicine shouldn't ever be prevented for a fight, a medicated inhaler *absolutely* provides an advantage in sports, not just fighting sports. It opens up your bronchioles and improves oxygen uptake, which is the whole point of the medicine. As you might imagine, that would be a pretty decent advantage for any athlete to have.
@eren-tv2et
@eren-tv2et 10 ай бұрын
It is a difficult situation though, like if a fighter needs it should they still be denied their inhaler? There needs to be some kind of quick process in place to determine this when a fighter is on the stool. Also Greg Hardy is a piece of shit so there’s that.

I noticed the Vinland saga anime adds some stuff like Einar's backstory. Apparently there was meant to be an episode dedicated to Snake's past too but they had to scrap it last minute. I wish I could have seen that because he is so mysterious. They did specify that he is a warrior of Mikalgard which wasn't specified (only hinted at) in the manga. The show also just expose a lot of information like most anime does. Sometimes treating audience like idiots.

I don't want to be rude to trash taste as I can tell that they are obviously misinformed on the UFC so hope I can clarify some of the comments. For one, the whole fact that MMA is more gruesome then boxing and less technical is actually the opposite. The level of technique that fighters have to learn in various different martial arts is much more skillful than boxing, as well as being able to mix it all up, and expose weaknesses. Secondly, when Connor says that he doesn't like to see when somebody is knocked out cold, FC and major organisations stop the fight as soon as a fighter has tapped or it is clear to see they have been knocked out, whereas in boxing, even if a fighter has been knocked down, they only get a ten second count until they are back into the fight, and as a result, there are around 14 deaths in boxing a year, whereas in MMA it's much less. Finally, about the inhaler situation, this is not an MMA thing. Inhalers are considered to be something that can boost performance in all sports, and the fighter that did it was an American Football player before that. As well as this, he did not use the inhaler in prior fights, as fighters are expected to know what they are consuming or putting into their body is approved by the governing body, which the fighter (his name is Greg Hardy) must know about, which is why Dana White wasn't happy with him. Overall, I like your guys' content but please do not make takes on stuff that has come from clips, and try and educate yourself on a topic before you bring it up. Thanks for the podcast, looking forward to next week's one

I didn't feel like I was looking at a drawing of a mountain view, or even a picture - it felt like I had actually climbed it with the main character, and was seeing what he was seeing. I totally get what Garnt meant about feeling a connection to the creator when reading a manga, personally I felt that when reading Chainsaw Man. When reading about Asa's loneliness and struggle to connect with people in part 2 I could relate so much, to the point it made me wonder if Tatsuki Fujimoto struggles with loneliness in that way too. The way her character and Denji's longing for intimacy was written felt so on point and relatable to me that I thought he must have felt something similar to them to write something that emotionally resonates so much.

It took a lot of balls from Connor to make that analogy about dressing up nicely if you're leaving the house bruh

The romance reality show drama in oshi no ko was not rushed in the anime The anime did a perfect adaptation of 3 chapters per episode and that episode, episode 6 where akane gets cancelled was one of the best episodes in the show Also aqua literally said mem told him that akane had went out during the typhoon so he went looking for her, and so did the other members of the cast after that. Connor needs to pay attention to dialog

I mean isn't it painfully obvious to search for someone when they are not responding to msgs and are at the most vulnerable stage of their life ?

I’d love to see you make an episode with Takashii from Japan. I’d be very interested in hearing your conversations with them.

I am so glad Garnt read and talked about The Climber. It's so underpopular and really desetves more love. Even better is that the chapters have newspaper articles of actual events regarding rock climbing irl. The only other manga I can think of that does something similar is "Holyland".

This man has used the word “vibe” every chance he has gotten since it started being trendy, his opinion is IRRELEVANT

@@HUMANSALAd666The man was a monk for a while, he only uses the word vibe so people understand what he's talking about. The energy of the room does indeed shift when everyone all of a sudden focuses on a comedy simulator.
