Finally we leave England and start our journey back to Positano!
Thank you for sticking with us along the way, I know this is not what you signed up for but everyone is entitled to a break and after the last couple of years everyone should take any chance to visit family abroad whenever possible. This was my chance and this was my break. A month with my family in England. So thank you for your patience and regular broadcasting from Italy will resume next week!
In this video we drive to Dijon where it is too cold and foggy to do much at all except sleep and drive away.
So we headed off in search of better weather and found it in Avignon where we didn't dance on the bridge but we did find wine for Luca.
We drove to Provence and stay with our friends Darren and Darla. If, by the way you have any computer problems Darren can help: www.zerolimits.com
We visited Apt, Gourdes, Rousillon and Lacoste while there.
In the next video we arrive back in Italy!

It's nice Skye is staying behind to keep Grandpa company, even for maybe a few more days...leaving one's parents behind is always hard, esp for people like me who move literally halfway across the world. Lovely video.

I agree leaving a parent is very sad. I used to live 10 hours away and it was too far to respond to minor hiccups. Thankfully we now live only 2 hours away so we are able to fix things like broken toilets and water heaters. I'm very appreciative of now being so close.

Carlo enjoy the warmth of Dijon. Here in the Ottawa, Canada area we have endured almost 2 weeks of -20 to -30 Celsius without the wind chill being added in. I've had to boost my ex's car every day, luckily I have a new battery since last spring. The river near my place is frozen and people skate out there, the brave even drive cars on it. My apartment windows were completely frosted for days - today the sun is out and it's a balmy -12 Celsius the sun is shining and that has melted the frost so I can see outside. Would you like to adopt me :-).

Oh my! now frantically searching for property in Gourdes and trying to work out how to leave England! What a stunning place. Thank you for taking time out of your holiday to show us your adventures, I know it's not easy. Years ago my children took part in a Flat Stanley project, which is where you draw a character, laminate it, make a diary for it and post it around the world to other children. When you receive someone else's Flat Stanley you take it with you for a month and record it's travels in the diary with words, photos, entrance tickets etc and then send it on to the next person on the list. Then at the end of the year the Flat Stanleys return to their makers with the diary's of their journeys. Doing that for a year was nothing compared to what you do, but even so it was still an effort to remember to take Stanley out with us so we could photograph him in various places and then print out the photos etc. My children were quite young and not great at writing and so needed to be supported in creating the diaries, it's a great idea though.

Oh this was so much fun...you took the exact trip we did while in Provence including Gordes, LaCoste and Roussillon and of course the fields. Your day was nice and clear which really made for some beautiful scenery even in winter. We did brave the "heaving crowds" that Dana mentioned and went during full bloom lavender and I would encourage you to make that trip in very late June or early July. It was magical!! This brought back so many memories. The movie "A Good Year" was filmed in Gordes and surrounding areas and you would enjoy it now that you have experienced the area. Thanks and safe journey back to Italy.

One does not expect an Italian to know ANY foreign languages, but your French pronunciation leaves much to be desired. Avignon was the Papal seat for over 200 years; that was the Papal residence! @@kristinahawkins6694 I reported the @Anna Tamparow comment. Not only was it rude, but passive aggressive racism towards Italians (many are multi-lingual), English and anyone who's native accents comes though when speaking another language. How is anyone meant to practice a language if they don't use it? Most kind people appreciate if someone attempts the language of the country that they are in, rather than the visitor assuming that they can/should speak theirs. By the time you got down south to Apt streets are more like Italy. Even some of the homes remind me of Italy. Wish you had more time to explore there. Some very different things. Darren and Darla were so nice to ask you to visit and host you and your small doggy. I would love you to go back and explore more with them. Such nice people and live in a beautiful area. I laughed at your depiction of the Motorway of the English "as the most boring road in France," because it reminded me so much of driving in much of the American Midwest of my childhood.

I'm just so loving these travel vlogs and feeling so nostalgic but inspired for when the time comes! Your filming is so beautiful as are the towns you visited. Tell Carlo that he was right about Canadian temps, as I sat watching this video in southern Ontario Canada, it is - 17° C with a wind chill of -22° !!

I find myself smiling through the entire last few vlogs. I appreciate how you seem to know no strangers. Thanks for sharing your journey. P.S. I live near Detroit, Michigan, USA. The tunnel (and separately, a bridge) connecting us to Windsor, Ontario, Canada is a paved driving tunnel...basically a paved road you drive on to the other side. So yes, I did imagine the euro tunnel differently. Really interesting!

Love this trip. It always amazes me on the beauty of all of Europe. The way the landscape and the architecture all seamlessly fits together and is unique to each region by comparison to most of N America which is so much younger. Generally speaking building and land use here seems more geometric and less organic. Oh, by the way Carlo keep the beard, it is very becoming.

I’m so enjoying all your adventures. As a Canadian, I loved Carlo’s honourable mention of our winter ❄️ weather. It’s currently anywhere between -20C and -30C most of the time so -2C sounds quite balmy!! Its ice fishing season! It’s character-building and while our winters are long, it makes us all that much more appreciative when spring raises it’s pretty head. Thanks again for all you do for us here who continue to experience lockdowns (we’re coming out of our 4th one on Monday). Couch potato traveling with you has been wonderful. Ciao!

Lol…Carlo speaking about how cold he is and how he cannot believe how cold it can be in Canada! Lol Carlo, where I live, the past month has been minus 45 degrees! And overnight with the wind it was minus 55 degrees! When it is that cold, it isn’t cold so much as it just hurts to be outside!! Carlo, You are absolutely right! How do we live here? WHY for the love of god do I live somewhere where the air hurts my face?!? Lol I live near the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, 🏔 🇨🇦 it is absolutely beautiful here in our short summers… waiting for summer gives us something to look forward to when it is minus 50 with snow everywhere lol Watching your videos of your beautiful life in 🇮🇹 helps me escape for a little while from my winter wonderland reality 🥶 ❄️ Thank you for your videos 💕❤️ They help me to pass the time until summer is here once again ☀️ ⛅️ 🏝

what a beautiful family you have Nikki. It's nice that Holly is also included in your wonderful trips. I was wondering, does Holly ever use a doggie coat with the different climates?
@NickiPositano
@NickiPositano 2 жыл бұрын
No, we don't use anything like that, but we think we know cold isn't a problem for Holly, how do we know? Because we went to places where there was snow, and Holly was rolling in it all the time, so we deduced she wasn't cold, then we can always have misinterpreted.😘

Hello Nicki and Carlo and Holly. Dijon is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for showing us all the towns. Umm, those were not two pine trees at that first house. Lol. I lived in Orleans France for a couple years. Jean d’arc was famous there. The champagne bucket filled with treats was delightful. Hello to Darren and Darla. Thanks Darren for fixing Nicki’s computer in the past.
