The sad part is that a dirty low life Criminal investment firm run by the lowlife pos Elliot Singer stole Carhartt and moved the company to China. He literally destroyed an Entire small American town economy. Every one was fired and left with nothing.

Aahh, the "poor parents shoes" some of us HAD to wear every day, regardless of the rock hard paper thin soles.... decades later: rheumatoid arthritis, lower back disc damage and worn out knees. I live in Australia, and I remember even 8 years ago, Champion shoes were $25 at Payless shoes. I was in my early teens and those were my favorite shoes. I then realised it wasn't cool to wear them, so I got way more expensive adidas shoes. A year later, all of a sudden Champion became the choice clothing of many 'eshays' (an Aussie term for teens with mullets, expensive clothes and Nike TN's). It was the weirdest thing

Another guy was wearing Carhartt khaki mustard brown capri's. 1990 was the start year when you had to have a Champion sweartshirt, especially with your fraternity or sorority letters on it. I'm not sure what year they went out, but I stopped wearing them around 1994.

Just like you had to go to only JC Penny to buy OPs when I was a kid(GENX) and my Mom refused to buy them because they cost to much and I bought my first pair of NEON green short and neon green surfer OP shirt when I was 14 with my first paycheck and it cost me a little over $80.00 and that was in 1986!!!! And high top Reebok were the things back then. Again high ends stores or the shoe stores you had to go for them. Not sure if the Reebok outlet had opened by me yet but I don't think that opened til the mid 90s sometime. This is when Reebok "classics" (as they are now called) were in style. The part that really blow my mind is that you can buy both brand AT WAL-MART NOW!!! WHAT A FALL FROM GRACE!!!!
