Maybe weight vest could be better option? I think that vest is more comfortable to use. Weights are closer to your body and does not swing between legs.

I’ve never tried one. But I think the benefit of a belt, is that you can attach more weight.

@funwithcalisthenics somehow thru a dozen of your quality uploads antony i didnt even notice your smooth narration on the backtrack which is just as smooth your calestenics path being injury free and methodological as i can see in your other comments, and you have the same type of accent as HLM (cough her late majesty)

That made me smile. I was watching The Crown on Netflix last night, so then to revive this comment was kind of spooky. I wouldn’t personally put myself in the same bracket. Over the last few years, I’ve been working on the delivery and production style of my videos, and they way I deliver the or produce them currently seems to be well received and the viewing figures have gone through the palaces roof! So I think I’ll stick with it for now, thanks for watching so many of them.

You are an inspiration. I'm 47 and decided to finally have a go at pullups. Started with negatives and aim to do my first pullup by end of month. How often do you train/rest days a week? Fantastic what you do.
@funwithcalisthenics
@funwithcalisthenics 4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind words. Personally, I have numerous pull-up routines which I rotate, to keep it interesting. But… when I was starting out, like you are, I’d suggest 3 days a week, with rest days between to start with. Then build up the length of the training session, number of reps / negatives. You could also try doing half reps too. They all help. Just try to stay consistent and make sure you train 3 times a week, every week, and progress should follow.

Very true. In some short videos I do, but if it’s a training type video, I don’t add music. I do a voice over, and try and demonstrate the reps.

I do take 5g of creatine in a protein shake, most days after a work out. That’s it though. So not really enough content to make a video. I am planning on making a video on how I reduced my body fat percentage, which could include a small bit on supplements.

Is there a difference between using a weighted vest vs hanging the weight between your knees? Specifically for pull-ups.
@funwithcalisthenics
@funwithcalisthenics 4 ай бұрын
That’s a good question. And I’ve ready a fair bit about this. There are subtle differences, in vests and belts, also the length of chain in the belt. But honestly, unless we are talking elite levels of training, I’d just do what feels comfortable, and what you have access too.

Savage. Do you think small amounts of additional weight can be introduced (with care) at relatively low max reps, to bust plateaus?
@funwithcalisthenics
@funwithcalisthenics 5 ай бұрын
In the early days of my training I didn’t do any weighted work, but in hindsight, I wish I had. So yes, but… yes I would recommend it, but don’t rush it, and start with light weights, and rest for longer periods than you would usually.

Hello Antony do you prefer chin-up or classic pull-up? Are you stronger on chin-ups?

I prefer the classic pull up. I do do chin-ups, but not that much. No real reason, just my preference.

I've been doing quite a bit of bar work recently, both pullups and hanging. No weights yet though. I have a developed a slight bit of tendonitis on the elbow joint but with the help of physio it seems to be under control. Is this not something that you have suffered from?

I have been very fortunate that I haven’t experienced these problems. I have been building slowly so maybe that has helped. Wishing you a speedy recovery as I am sure you are desperate to get back on it. Take care friend.

Good afternoon, сan you write your daily routine, namely when you go to bed and when you get up? Do you have the same sleep schedule on weekends as on weekdays?
@funwithcalisthenics
@funwithcalisthenics 5 ай бұрын
That’s an interesting question. Generally, I awake around 6am, that’s not because an alarm goes off, as I don’t set one, I awake naturally. I go to bed between 10pm and 10.30pm usually. I used to have a rule, that I would always make sure I was in bed before the new day started, so always in bed before midnight at the very latest.
