When you buy an more expencive fountain pen you can choose what nib you want. Also nibs come in different materials. From steel to gold to palladium. Pentips come in extra fine, fine, medium, broad and a brand from Germany named Lamy even have 3 different callagraphy nibs. There are some fountain pen inks that are waterproof(only black), tough be aware not to let the ink dry in the pen. Fountain pens can cost between a few dollars to thousands of dollars, depending on materials used and limited collection pens. Getting different line variations with one fountain pen is hard to do, when pressing down the pen the line will be broader but, depending on the material of the nib, the nib can bend, wich will break the pen. The callagraphy nib is the best for line variation, and there are some cheap callagraphy fountain pens on the market. (Used to sell luxurious (fountain) pens, hope you like the info! Xxx) Now if you dont mind, I need to go on with binge watching your videos.... :-D

Oh wow, that’s a lot of information and I totally appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Fountain pens seem like a deeeeeeeeeeep hole I could fling myself down if I’m not careful. Especially because I am not particularly well known for being careful around knowledge holes to fling myself down. =>.

Mmmmm metallic pens! It is sooo hard to resist coloring your world metallic when you first get one. I have to lock away my metallic sharpies for just that reason.

if you are interested in line variations with a fountain pen, you need to get a flex nib or a soft gold nib (which gets pricier) so it's not a standard feature but definitely achievable

Ah, that makes sense! Yeah, don’t think that’s likely to be found in a $1.50 disposable fountain pen, no. =>.

Pie? I love pie! My all time favorite is definitely blackberry pie. I used to pick ripe blackberries from my yard when I was a kid and my mom would turn them into the most amazing pie ever, with a solid crust on the bottom and the top, but with extra sugar liberally sprinkled on the top so it crystallized while it baked. ^^

Oh no! Fire testing?!?? That’s too scary for the Bubbas. Tomorrow, strangers are going to come to our house and look at our light bulbs. Many scary Bubba times ahead! That’s interesting about the timing of when you get your box-had no idea that’s how it worked, but it does make sense in a pacing sort of way. Kind of cool that you still get a surprise! Though I hope you still get an awesome notebook. Mmmmmm, piiiieeeeeeeee.

i got a pilot v pen a while ago, expecting it to be waterproof, but since i found out it wasnt i invented another use for it which is to be in my pocket alongside a blank a6 notebook that i do life drawing on the go in (mostly on public transport). its a good challenge for me because my tendency is to draw first and think later, meaning i need lots of sketch lines, but using an undeniable black ink like that is forcing me to slow down and use my eyes more wisely, if that makes sense. but thats just the use i invented not to feel like i wasted my money lmao!

Are you able to switch the ink in that pen? Because I’m fairly certain that the carbon platinum ink is both waterproof and safely usable for fountain pens!

Aw I’m sad the fountain pen didn’t do it for you. I use one for my sketching phase for my watercolors! You need a flex nib for line variation, and only certain inks are waterproof. 💜 I’m gonna have to get some of those mild liners- they layer oh so well and I’ve bravely resisted long enough! Thanks as always for the great content.

Hey, I never said the fountain pen didn’t do it for me! I likely won’t use it for sketching, since I use so many water mediums, but it’s definitely a nice writing pen! And one I wouldn’t be so mad about slightly destroying my throwing into my purse and letting it live there. =>..

I got a pretty neat cover too, different from yours and the one on their instagram! I got the same pens though, same colors (I think?). I'll be making a video on them too, so I'll check it out then! I love the notebook! The paper is soooo good!!?

Ooooh, what cover did you get? I was browsing their selection and they’re all so gorgeous! Honestly wish they made watercolor books because I’d be alllll over a sketchbook as pretty as those. And yes! Their paper is surprisingly great, especially for a bujo!

Nice! When you draw with a fountain pen, you can activate the ink with a waterbrush and make easy shadows etc. without using your watercolorset. (That's what I do sometimes)

Yeah! I’ve certainly done this before with other pens, though I’ve found that waterproof pens are, overall, more useful for me. Knowing whether or not something is waterproof is just a test I do on the regular given how often I use water mediums-just want to know how to expect things to perform!
