HF use to carry one like that. Great little sucker, but loud. Had ro buy a metal trash 30gal trash can for my dust separator, as the plastic can folded up the first time I used it. Best thing to do is get a big 1 micron bag for the outfeed dust collection, or a pleated unit. Enjoy.

Man, love your videos. I was on the fence about this dust collector and read and watched a bunch of reviews, but your video put me over. However, compared to my Ridgid 16 gallon Shop Vac, the Wen is a HUGE disappointment. I initially thought I received a defective item, but the replacement was the same. Without an anemometer, I can only guess, but my guess is the Wen's suction is about 1/2 of the Ridgid utilizing the same hose. The WEN was the WEN DC3474 7.4-Amp. The Ridgid is almost 1/2 the price. Anyway, thought I would share my experience.

Thanks for the video and also the fact we get to actually briefly hear the noise level, which other reviewers have complained about. I've got a fairly large 2hp floor-standing Grizzly in my garage shop, but wanted a cheap and smaller unit for better portability with tools occasionally used outside and elsewhere. I was going to purchase this WEN but decided on the Harbor Freight version which is rated at 1 hp and 5.1 amps, although the CFM is rated the same at about 660.; the WEN uses what seems to be a small hp universal motor, similar to what gives the high-pitched whine you get from a shop vac, and what I find very annoying even using ear protection; plus, I would be concerned about keeping the WEN on for longer periods of time since universal motors really aren't designed for that from what I've heard. Also, you quoted a price of $100 for the WEN but the best price I could find now was $135. The Harbor Freight was $144 (w/coupon), so not much difference and you get a regular heavy duty motor with the HF. As they say, time will tell regarding the durability of both these brands.

@@christopherdekonstrukt444 do you have any spare slots to add a breaker and one more outlet? If you don’t have any electrical savvy friends I wouldn’t think it would cost that much to add one single outlet dedicated for the Vac. Maybe something to look into rather than a full electrical upgrade

Nice review on the WEN dust collector, install an Oneida Dusty Deputy DIY, before that unit, in-line, which will capture all the chips into a bucket and your filter bag on the WEN will be an air filter for the extreme fines, essentially creating a 2 stage dust collection system, all on the cheap.

I would turn it on and measure how long the bag inflates too. Mount it just night enough where the bag barely rests on the ground so that it can support the weight id the chips inside the bag. Mine (where it is now) had a trash bin under it so I can just unzip it and empty in the can. It rests ever so slightly on the Lid of the can!

You have it backward.. It sucks in on the side where the screen is and THEN goes through the impeller. All centrifugal pumps and fans work the same way.. The impeller flings the fluid be it water or air outward from it's center toward the perimeter and in the direction of the outlet. The biggest problem with those filter bags is the micron size of the holes in the bag, Most are between 3 and 6 microns generating a dust that is not healthy to breath.. It's an expensive upgrade but most go to a hepa filter which filters with 0.5 - 1 micron particles passing through.

Dude yes!! I love it!!! I Used it just a couple hours ago. I have my planer hooked to it and have a reducer and hook it to my orbital sander too!!! It’s mounted on a wall in my workshop and it’s perfect!
