Driving a stick shift in a place like SF would suck. Some of those hills are so steep you can roll back in an auto. Plus I would not like having to constantly shift in heavy traffic.
@jgreen83396 жыл бұрын
Niya Blake agreed, very steep hills. There's a tourist attraction where this narrow road zig zags up, think it's to a hotel. Very vague description I know. Manuals suck in traffic which would be hell in Los Angeles as that's all people seem to do.
@niyablake6 жыл бұрын
It's Lombard st and it's houses. They had to close the road to all but local because of tourist acting bad . In fisherman's wharf there is one street I hate. Going up it's º45 incline. As you get to the op their isa stop sign. When you get there you can not see oncoming traffic. I rolled back in an automatic.. it's so bad even in a automatic you need to keep your foot lightly on the gas and not the brake .other wise when you come off the brake you will spin your tire

That's the one! Thanks. Do you live in San Francisco? I've visited all major cities in California and sf has always been my favourite. Wow, that's the most complex explanation of parallel parking I've ever heard! It's basically signal, pull up "about" even, turn the wheel in, back in, then swing the wheel back around. Done. But I also drive a tiny car. I think the "start off a meter away from the car" is both impractical and a bit tougher. About half that will do. For a real challenge, back up a trailer. ^.~ The tricky part is getting back out when the cars are packed in like sardines. My bad parallel habit is getting so close to the curb that my passenger cannot open the extremely low set car doors. This is due to starting out too close to the car I'm parking behind.

Phillip K It was a guy just running across the street at night. So he wouldn't even be able to catch up to me 😂. But it's true that road rage is a big problem. I have experienced some really absurd cases of road rage, one example is when a taxi cut me off while turning, I honked (lightly), then later on he cut me off again, I honked again lightly (I honestly didn't think he was pissed or anything, although I had all the right to be I wasn't) , the guy came beside me and rolled down his window, he started yelling and I was just in awe. He sort of continued to harass me so I just smiled at him and hit the gas. He couldn't keep up. But it makes me wonder, how, how do you make a mistake and then get pissed at the victim of your mistake? I guess he just didn't know how driving works. But that taught me that you gotta watch out, even if you drive perfectly fine, you are not free from road rage 😂.

This episode, I was actually surprised how well Ashley did throughout. She did fairly well on the teeter-totter (I wish they'd go back to using manuals, though), and was the best at the parallel parking challenge. I admit she didn't do too well on the swerve and avoid challenge, but in my view, she wasn't the worst. Travis barely swerved at all (I still think he's a lock for the final 2), while Adam and Melanie (who I'm starting to think is looking more like a finalist) both swerved towards the cat. Granted, in previous seasons, the eventual worst have had good episodes (Kevin season 9 and Chanie season 10). But if she keeps it up, she might not have the title. At this point, I'm extremely curious to find out who splintered the Camaro like in the preview. I'm going to take a guess right now that it is Travis, considering he hits both pedals simultaneously, and ALL of the barriers were shredded. Looking forward to the future, if Shayne continues to do well, he might not make the finals. So for now, my final three is altered a bit: Ashley, Travis and Melanie.

Good for Breanna! Even though Shayne did the best in the challenges this episode I think Breanna got everything she came to Rehab for and more. She deserved to graduate! At this point, it would appear Shayne is a lock to graduate before the finale. I’m glad to see what a difference Rehab is making not just in his driving, but his life. Adam I think will end up either being the second-to-last or last Graduate. He’s clearly not the worst in terms of skill - once his confidence is up, he’ll go home. That leaves Ashley, Travis, and Melanie. Two episodes ago I would have said Ashley’s easily the worst. I think she is legitimately improving. Even though she failed the swerve and avoid, it was the first high-speed challenge where she didn’t cry at all. I think she’s the most likely bet for Final Graduate. On a side note - so glad to see how much Rehab changed Jillian!! Travis has stopped making excuses, but he might be the closest the show has come to having a duplicate of season 1’s Chris. He just has no skills, no experience at all. But the fact that he’s starting to take it in will probably help him avoid being the Worst. Melanie is my bet for worst right now - she’s easily the most nervous of everyone, and also one of the least-skilled. It seems to me she has made the least progress of everyone so far, and I think her emotions will hold her back more than either Ashley or Travis’s problems will for them.

I'm thinking the same final 3. But in my book, I'm thinking the worst might go to Travis. I'm still perplexed by his performance in the eye of the needle from last episode. Hitting the left side of the arch with the driver's side is one thing. Hitting the right side with the driver's side is another. But then again, maybe he has horrible depth perception (he was always about 6 feet away from the car in the parallel parking challenge).
@nhagelin10266 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree that Travis is definitely a contender for the title. I see him almost as a cross between the very first “Worst Driver” Chris and “Worst Ever” Kevin - The green-ness and timidness of Chris, the depth perception of Kevin, and the complete lack of skill of both drivers (although we all know that Chris has become a great driver since he “lost” season 1). The reason Melanie gets my vote is although she’s probably slightly better than Travis, I think she could end up like a Lance or a Jillian and completely break down on the final drive. If she doesn’t finish it, she’ll get the title just like everyone else who’s never finished the final drive.

Maybe you're right about Melanie, but I can't help but feel bad for her. Single mother of four, with two special needs students (I've had to go through lots of speech therapy myself as I'm autistic). I just want to see her improve, and I would think that wanting to be a good role model for her kids would give her the motivation to do so.

Or is there a possibility that season 13 might feature no one as the worst driver? I literally want everyone to be a good driver hmmm.... Season 12 I actually lost all hope for Tyler but he actually came around and did a perfect (or 99% perfect) mega challenge. If this is the first season ever to feature no one as the worst then we made history (even tho the chances are like 0.0000000000000001%)
@nhagelin10266 жыл бұрын
Tyler Marchand I definitely hope I’m wrong about Melanie and that she does pull herself out of it and avoid being the worst. And if for some reason she does end up being the Worst I hope she can do what Jillian did and use the lessons she learned to overcome her fears even after Rehab. Definitely rooting for her to be the driver she wants and needs to be. If she does it in Rehab then I think Travis will easily end up the worst.

If you're talking about the teeter totter challenge they have done it in past seasons. They probably stopped because in one season the contestants burned through the clutch on two or three different cars and that's pretty expensive on their car budget.

fun fact. i actually got hit by a car when i was riding my bike to the driving test to get my lisence... but i was lucky that it wasn't a high speed collition and i only got some bruises and a single cut from my bike when i was hit. i pretty much just landed on the hood of the car that hit me.

Do cars not have ABS in Canada? It's been legally required on all cars since 2004 in the EU
@samin906 жыл бұрын
They do. But tire squealing sound effects added in post sound better than the noise the ABS system makes which people often confuse for something broken on their car
@AMBLloyd6 жыл бұрын
samin90 I was referring to the swerve & avoid challenge - where they were told not to brake because it would stop them from being able to steer

@altiramoongara99686 жыл бұрын
ABS will not save you from skidding on ice or hydro-planing (I know this from experience) so knowing how to do a swerve and avoid without using the breaks is important.
