Very very nice mate , and also very interesting , do some flooring myself , had a situation though , the last floor we tiled just popped up after 4 or 5 years , it was on the first floor of a new garage extension , seems like the beam and the concrete under it have settled after time and tensioned the tiles up .. I got footage of it when they pop up lol it’s crazy

Chears mate 👍👍👍Nice would like to see that. I had a job about 3 years ago with under floor heating that had popped it bloody nightmare when it they do. This was a wood floor👍👍👍

Thanks for the video. Gonna attempt this myself. How do you cut the tile in the cutter when its diagonal. Will it be too big to fit in?
@markhep3 жыл бұрын
Yere 2 fit in and 2 dident. I just cut them with my small 4 inch grinder. Good look I am sure you will do a grate job. The key is to spend time on it. I took a full day just setting out and getting cuts right 👍👍👍

Did you do the diagonal cuts with the tile cutter or with a grinder? Nice work!
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate I did them with tile cutter but you can use grinder. Bug it a bit harder to keep them straight 👍👍👍
@Padders822 жыл бұрын
Looks good.. one thing I was wondering is that when you cut the tile in the tray aren’t the edges razor sharp? I worry catching your feet on that would be painful… or do you file the edges down ? I haven’t seen anyone explain that part
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate yes if they are Sharp a rub with sand paper usually works. I always try and have the grout flush with the top too👍👍👍

Hey up Mark..... are the walls just skimmed up down to the tanking tape? Or did you tank the walls before tiling them? Great job.
@markhep Жыл бұрын
Hi mate it was plastered first we did the tanking after 👍👍👍

Very nice... I'm doing this with a smaller tiles and working in a tiny space was a pain in the ass! How did you create the bowl then... did you put more adhesive around the edges and press harder around the drain? Or is it just cutting the tiles like that creates the bowl effect? Cheers Che
@markhep10 ай бұрын
Nice on .yes you can do it like that .just slope the tile .we used a tray that was under the floor that had a slope in the tray
@pwhitaker5692 жыл бұрын
Do you bed the tiles around the drain slightly lower in the middle to aid gravity and drainage
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi there. Yes it had a tray in underneath that was slanted to the drain 👍👍👍

Awesome, as a beginner I was looking for a video like this. As my floor is donstairs concrete slab. Anyone know if you put anything like plastic under the tiles if on a concrete slab. Currently it is a vinyl type of wet room I want to pull up.
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate I think they do. Do something for it that goes on and up the wall. I usley going into a tilling shop and ask. They now all the best stuff to use 👍👍👍

What floor grout / sealant do you use in-between all tiles on the floor. Is it a particular type?
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate if you go in to a tilling shop is the best bet. Just ask them they will give you the best stuff for it thats what I do 👍👍👍

I have an outdated wet room that I'd like to revamp on a budget. It currently has vinyl flooring installed. Can tiles be fitted on top of the hard floor?
@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. If its concrete then yes. If its chip board I would put some backer boards down. Then you know the tiles won't move. 👍
@Msxoxo12 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply! It's vinyl flooring that has been installed, would tiles be OK to fit on top of that please?

Did you cut the tile on the left of the drain? So you've got 2 600mm tiles either side of a cut ? If so it's done wrong sorry to be a killjoy like but the floor tiles don't match on the rest of the floor 🤦

I'm working on a bathroom with a wet room and I'm putting a plywood floor down to get the level of the tray and floor support. Do you use a thin set or anything when you tile onto a plywood floor? TIA
