Today we’re going to talk about gastritis. Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach.
Symptoms of gastritis:
• Indigestion
• Vomiting (especially yellow or green fluid)
• Nausea
• Low appetite
• Abdominal pain (especially in the upper part)
• Burning (especially at night and in between meals)
Typically, if someone has acidity, acid reflux, or heartburn, I would suggest either betaine hydrochloride or apple cider vinegar. But, I wouldn’t suggest this if you have gastritis. With gastritis, there is inflammation in the stomach, so if you add more acid, you could make it worse.
An easy way to tell if you may have gastritis is to take apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride and see if you feel worse. If you get worse, you may either have gastritis or an ulcer. If you feel better, it may have been a lack of acid causing the problem in the first place.
Potential causes of gastritis:
• Alcohol
• Aspirin
• NSAIDS
• H. pylori
• Cortisol
• Bile
Cortisol is activated by stress and can increase gastric acids even when there is no food in the stomach. This cortisol can then cause gastric erosion leading to inflammation and even an ulcer.
High levels of cortisol may make cortisol less effective. Now, instead of cortisol acting as an anti-inflammatory, it can cause more inflammation.
If there is bile regurgitating up into the stomach, you could experience inflammation and burning in the stomach. This can come from an obstruction in the bile ducts. A simple remedy is a bile salt called TUDCA.
What you can do for gastritis (check with your doctor before applying):
• Decrease stress
• Increase sleep
• Take vitamin D and zinc carnosine
• Support the adrenals
• Do Healthy Keto and fasting
• Use mastic gum

I got a nasty H Pylori infection untreated for 2 months because Dr referred me to Gastro and it took two months to see her. Prescribed 10 days of antibiotics and antiacids. It took 5 months to finally do an endoscopy and be diagnosed with gastritis. I am better because I took the following juice: Blend one small potato and 5-6 cabbage leaves with a glass of water. Drain and use that juice to add aloe vera juice and papaya. I drank it twice per day for 14 days. It makes miracles! You also have to cut out gluten, lactose, dairy, and all processed sugar. I lost 35 lbs in those 5 months. Cabbage/papaya help with digestive system; potato is a natural antiacid; aloe vera is antibacterial, antiinflammatory, and it helps rebuild your stomach protective layer. Cheers.

@@liliadiaz3123 Depends Lilia, if your stomach has been eroded by H Pylori then if you add acid the bacteria will dig in the stomach lining for protection. So you will feel worse and you might develop an ulcer. If you don’t have gastritis probably more acid can be good for you, because your Esophageal sphincter will close and you might have less reflux. But really depends on your particular case. I’m just coming from the hospital because have acute gastritis so I learned a lot about this in a bad way.

Hi Dr. Berg, I have really found your videos to be a treasure chest of practical information that I can use to help myself. I've just started but I've determined by trying the ACV and HCl that I probably have gastritis, h-pylori or an ulcer. I'll have to look for another video and I'm confident that you'll have one. One other way you have helped me is by suggesting the intermittent fasting. I've cut out breakfast and found my whole digestive system was feeling better with longer times in between eating. Also, it's somehow simplified my understanding of my symptoms. It really stands out now that my upper stomach is really uncomfortable between meals. I may be making it worse by not eating between meals. But I have a path to follow and I'm happy to understand my situation and what to try. I'll continue to add to my description of improvements as I go. Thanks, Dr. Berg!

Hi Dr Berg, I've been following you for the better part of a year from videos about how bad sugar is for your body to clean Keto recipes. I recently had an issue with a burning pain in one of my breasts and doctors couldn't explain why it was happening. They then chalked it up to a cyst that had already existed in my breast as being the reason. I wasn't willing to accept that as an excuse and after a lot of youtubing, I came across one of your videos on what to do if you develop cysts. You mentioned the inverse relationship between Iodine and estrogen and possibly being deficient in iodine. I got on a daily Sea Kelp regimen and the pain has disappeared completely after a couple of weeks. I'm very grateful for all the information you make readily available for people. Especially, those who are desperate for answers/help and have to be their own advocates for REAL-health solutions. THANK YOU!

Doctors can’t be with you to really know what you are eating etc. always look at your stool as well. Stool samples can be taken to doctor to work out if body breaking down foods. Just started taking zinc carnosine with a scoop of bone broth and wheatgrass juice in a water bottle with me to work for the past couple days. I drink it after breakfast and before lunch because you’re supposed to take the zinc on an empty stomach. I’m already noticing a big improvement in symptoms. That and reducing stress. After I realized my symptoms were directly proportional to my stress levels, I started changing my focus. I don’t allow my mind to dwell on worries now. If something comes up, I figure out a game plan to address it, make a note on my phone so I don’t have to remember it, and stop thinking about it. I change my focus to something I enjoy. This is helping my recovery. The autonomic nervous system is very susceptible to stress and it controls your digestion, among other things. Being constantly stressed literally kills us over time. Mental health is physical health.

More insomnia and more indigestion due to higher fat consumption. Intermittent fasting seems to help. But I have also had times when fasting made it worse. I tried the adding acid test using a supplement recommended to me by a health care professional in an attempt to be rid of GERD. For anyone trying out the adding acid test, wowee wow wow, you'll know very quickly. My symptoms fit those exactly as described in the video. Also, when I try to taper off the PPI that I take, I don't get too far and now it makes sense why little progress is made. I will use the steps described for healing my stomach especially taking the epsom salts added to a bath. This is great advice. I had been taking Vitamin D for awhile , but I added trying to stick to keto and doing intermittent fasting. I also raised the head of my bed several inches (that took a few nights to get used to! But it did help; I really couldn’t sleep flat and the wedge pillow wasn’t real great for my back.) However, adding mastic gum as recommended every morning was amazing in helping heal my gastritis. Also, from another of Dr. Berg’s videos, I use chlorophyll throughout the day and it also calms my stomach. My symptoms have greatly improved and I was able to wean myself off the PPIs and H2s. I still have to be careful with what I eat but I no longer have nausea and pain. Thank you, Dr. Berg for your practical , concise videos. You help more in 10 minutes than others do in an hour!

Did you stay away from ACV and Betaine HCL during the healing process? I'm currently trying to wean off the PPIs now
@kristenhernandez6243
@kristenhernandez6243 Жыл бұрын
@@TheRealNickChang Yes, Nicholas, great question. I did have to avoid the ACV and Betaine HCL during the healing process because they will irritate your stomach if you have gastritis, and that’s the last thing you need.I followed a low-acid diet (Acid Watchers diet) for a month which helped the healing a lot. I’ve been working on healing for several months now and have just started reintroducing ACV and Betaine HCL (one each) at one meal a day, and my stomach seems to be tolerating it okay. Everyone is different, but I was able to get off the PPIs after a few weeks, but I had not been on them before, I just took them for a short while after I was diagnosed. Also,I know Tums isn’t great for you either, but I had to take it occasionally when I had a flare-up (still do sometimes), but I figure it’s the lesser of two evils. Hope this helps, I wish you the best!

Thank you Kristen! Sounds like we are about on the same timeline. I did take ACV and betaine hcl yesterday but took it two meals a day and it hurt quite a bit so I'm going to wait a month and give it another go. I'm taking omeprazole every other day now and wanted to stop cold turkey so took the ACV yesterday. Can't tell if I'm getting a rebound from staying off meds or if the extra acidity is hurting me

I experienced this with my mom vomiting and my dad took her to the doctor and gave her some kind of medication because the doctor said that she had food poisoning, but the medication didn’t help instead she was bloated and wasn’t able to poop like almost 3 weeks and she got so weak because she wasn’t eating. Then I gave her blended moringa leaves juice and not even an hour she was able to poop. The next day, she called her doctor and told him that his medication almost killed her.

I just wanted to add smoking as another cause. Heavy smoking on an empty stomach plus not eating on time gave me gastritis twice. I lost about 30lbs the first time and the burn and anxiety was excruciating. Taking DGL healed it quite fast and solution was to cut down and eventually quit smoking.

Needless to say, my stomach has been completely destroyed. I'm going to see someone this week, to make sure I haven't given my self an ulcer. It has been a terrible couple of weeks, I haven't been sleeping and my stress is high. Now I'm stuck in a cycle of constant pain , stress and tiredness 😩

I currently have gastritis symptoms I believe is related to my liver (swelling trailing down from gallbladder, making too little or too much bile, possibly bile reflux) I would encourage those who also have gastritis related to their liver to supplement with tocotrienols (vit E at 300mg specifically derived from annatto plant) especially as well as other fat soluble vitamins. Dr. Berg did a video on this form of vit E working well to heal the liver for a couple weeks I supplemented with A, D3, K2 and K1 with meals and it wasn't until I started taking tocotrienols I had the most relief. the first day I took it I had very mild symptoms between my 2 meals compared to the day before it was absolute hell. today, no symptoms at all of nausea and stomach burning. that stuff really works
