Because none of us could look at her in the eye that day." This means the clones were depressed, embarrased and they probably regret order 66

Their loyalty is to the Republic, not the Jedi, they were soldiers made FOR THE REPUBLIC and were used because they were unquestionably loyal, although they had their own opinions and thoughts about it,they were trained to have the maximum obedience to the highest authority in the Republic, the Chancellor. The clones knew that this was going to happen, one way or the other. If the order was never issued the clones would have continued to serve the jedi.

Forgive me for not giving in to the oppression of the 'evil empire' and accepting some corporate mouse's decisions; his old backstory was canon for such long time, and is so much better than the neutered version it is now that I and many others just pick and choose what we deem 'canon' based on how it fits into the universe of Star Wars and how good it's written. Why should we accept a worse incarnation of a character we all came to know and love when we have a better version of him with a more developed backstory that doesn't have any problems fitting into the continuity of the series, especially since that used to be canon? We can make up our own minds.

You mean they should be made back canon again; Dave Filoni, the man behind the Clone Wars and Rebels, decided that Grievous should be a bland villain that people shouldn't sympathize with (even though we already have a pure evil character in the series; that being Palpatine). So, he destroyed Grievous' previously canon backstory and made it just, "He was a Kalee, he tried to become a Jedi and failed, and was so mad at being rejected that he did a 180 and became a cyborg willingly so he could kill all Jedi (even though he canonically hates being called a droid, so why would he want to become a cyborg if he hates his body?). That's it. That's all we have in terms of Grievous' "canon" backstory. I mean, come on.

This is great. Killing Jedi is one thing, he believes honestly that they betrayed him. They're military and he's switched sides in the war. But children aren't military officers OR soldiers. They're not even police trainees(Jedi Knights are police, but they can still choose to go into one of the other crops). One thing I would add to your amazing comment is: He thought of Padmé: they were soon to have a child of their own-the thought of killing a child and alienating her was too much. I add this in because every action up to this point was driven by his love for Padmé. The reason he killed the youngligns was to cement himself in the dark side so he could learn the Sith ability and save Padmé from death.

The Clone Trooper that was narrating the original Star Wars Battlefront 2 campaign was known as "Retired clone trooper". The Retired clone trooper told the story of the 501st Legion through Revenge of the Sith to The Empire Strikes Back. In Legends Appo died on Kashyyyk in 19 BBY (pacifically in the novel Dark Lord the rise of Darth Vader).

My only thing problem with this is, originally there were no inhibitor chips. The clones were trained to show absolute loyalty to the chancellor, they knew about order 66 the whole time. In the battlefront game play Appo explains this in great detail, it was a masterfully written dialogue piece and if you haven't heard it I would recommend looking it up. Now don't get me wrong in this I loved the clone wars series I wish it was never cancelled, but I never really got behind the idea of the inhibitor chips. I liked it more knowing that the thought of their inevitable betrayal of the Jedi order was something they had full awareness of. Look no further than the 501st interaction with Jedi master Aayla Secura. I felt it gave the clones more depth and gave weight to the ones who refused the order outright. Now with all that said, the net result was still the same it will always be the same and I'm okay with that. I still love the story either way.

Well......If I heard Correctly he said in one of his Videos that Palpertine/Sidious controlled both Forces (The Clone Army and the Seperatist Army) so it was pretty much the Playground of Palpertine....he could make happen whatever he wanted,so no....the Clone Wars wouldn't stop before Anakine turned to the Dark side because the Man who wanted him to come to the Dark side had absolut Control over the War.

No, the Clones did not think it was wrong. In Legends, maybe, but in Canon, no. They had no regrets. It was what they were cloned for in the first place and the mind control chips were designed to make them earn the trust of the evil Jedi. Rex and those other three clones from that Star Wars: Rebels episode were able to remove those chips so they could defy the order.

Leia, as Princess of Alderaan, is supposed to inherit some title of nobility. The thing is, nobody gives a shit about nobles anymore. It's purely symbolic and she doesn't care. This lady is second in line and Leia says in a dismissive way "yeah, you can have it, whatever." With that title comes access to certain inheritance. Part of this was Leia's box from Alderaan. Every kid has one, and it's really important, containing important things from their childhoods. It's sacred. It's also a crime to breach someone else's privacy according the the Nobility council. She uses part of this message, presented on the Senate floor to turn most of Leia's friends against her. This lady is the only one left who cares about the Noble titles and everything. It's her entire life, what defines her. Leia gets her kicked out, unable to ever hold any title again.

MARVEL GAMERZ Technically yeah. The only reason the order is bad in the movie is because the Jedi actually weren't trying to destroy the republic. Imagine if the Jedi were trying to overthrow the republic for their own means, is order 66 so evil then (apart from the killing little children but let's assume the children weren't killed but were instead detained and brought back to their parents).

Well, the kids would die too. Clones didn't just not shoot them-they saw a Jedi and they shot. They killed padawans too, and some of them are roughly elementary school age.

I dunno, I feel like the chips in their brains forcing them to kill the Jedi is a bit of lazy story telling. The Clones were already trained, and both genetically and mentally programmed from birth to follow orders of the Republic to their dying breath. Considering things that have happened in real history, the idea that the Clones were able to near mindlessly follow the Chancellor's order to kill the Jedi without a chip, can be a fairly believable. There was one episode where a Clone betrayed the Republic and was a Separatist spy, with the chip in place I doubt he would be able to do that. Of course, Palpatine could have orchestrated that as part of the battle. But the idea that the Clones knowingly carried out the order, and perhaps felt shame or regret in doing so would be a more interesting story. Maybe there were Clones who enjoyed it, seeing the Jedi as the idiot warrior commanders who sent their brothers to die on so many occasions.

Can you do what if the Jedi decided not to be generals and instead tried to work with both sides for peace? I think it would change a lot. It would remove the Jedi from the clone's line of fire, change public perception on both sides of the Jedi and possibly give them more options to survive if Palpatine and/or Dooku moved against them as more worlds would see them as working for peace and innocent victims. I could even see Dooku possibly seeing this as a sign that his old friends and colleagues were seeing the same corruption as he did and were finally doing something about it. Sorry for the wall of text. Thanks for the great job you do on all of your videos.

Enjoyed the video and was a good explanation. Only thing I might add was that you kinda combined legends and canon material. Personally I think the legends explanation is a little better because there was no chip that forced them to kill their Jedi generals. Too them it was just another order to be followed despite the close ties some of the clone made with the Jedi most of them carried it out regardless. The new canon explanation while it did make for a good episode arc and made Palpatine so much more devious overall its kinda of anti climatic in that it was just the chips that turned the clones against the Jedi. Anyways sorry for the spiel and looking forward towards your next video.

If I remember correctly, in battlefront 2 the narrator mentioned they he was glad they were wearing helmets, because none of the clones could look Aayla Secura in the eye. I believe he also mentioned that he hoped that her death was quick when it came.

From the original cannon (including the Battlefront 2 campaign) there was no inhibitor chip. The clones knew what they were doing the whole time, hence the "We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do" from commander Appo. It was only during the Clone Wars TV show that the concept of the inhibitor chip was introduced.
