I worked at target for a while, and I can say from my experience that it's a fairly safe bet to buy food from there, because they are scared SHITLESS about getting sued. You will get in trouble for not taking your lunch on time because they're afraid of legal trouble.

I worked for Target for almost a year, I worked on the front end and would be told by one of the team leads that I couldn't have my water on the floor even though it was tucked away out of sigh from guests. My other manager? Completely fine with it. I was once gotten in trouble for not taking my lunch on time because the same TL forgot to give me my lunch and I was treated like the problem she even fussed at another team member who was at guest services at the time for 'letting me go into compliance' even though it wasn't her responsibility to keep up with breaks. People in other departments were shocked I went into meal compliance and when I explained what happened were they just as confused but also disgusted. She also constantly forgot to give me my other breaks on time so much so it became a running joke with the front end people.

At an organisation I once worked for, I helped with that year's graduate program. Five different work sites in the organisation each listed the sort of work a graduate would do in their workplace; they also told us how many graduates they were willing to accept. Applicants would submit their CV and nominate one of the work sites. However, three of the work sites told us they wanted zero graduates that year. Therefore, every graduate who applied for one of those three work sites had their application thrown out with no further consideration. We missed out on employing some highly qualified graduates. No one from those work sites ever explained why they went to the effort of listing the work a graduate would do in their workplace if they had no intention of accepting any graduates.

The aerospace firm was Heizer aerospace in imperial Missouri. I'm a machinist in the area and I worked with guys that told the exact same story. It gets worse though. They were building components for warplanes and the owner was blabbing about what he was making. Not in general terms, he was sharing classified names, talking about how the design of different parts fit together and what performance profile that provided. Military secrets that may not seem consequential but all the info taken together could have negated any advantage the new airframes had in combat and resulted in the death of US and allied airmen. The DOD fined his ass $500,000, forced him to sell the company, audited said company and the man himself. IRS followed up and fined him again. Ended up seizing his fleet. He's no longer allowed to receive defense contracts, of course. But it's the publicity of it that really ruined him. Machining is a small and relatively tight knit profession. People talk. He can't find anyone to sell him a shop or just hire him as a supervisor. Local banks won't give him loans anyway because nobody wants to do business with a man that categorically cannot be trusted, not with money, secrets or lives. They all know that man doesn't care what he signs he won't hold to that deal. There's a lot of things the Midwest forgives but fucking over the troops by spilling military secrets to impress your buddies at the bar isn't one of them.

One of my former roommates worked IT for a 'not for profit' company that does standardized testing for schools out of Portland. He took that job specially because he wanted to help kids. But the company was not only corrupt but shocking corrupt. If anyone has seen the recent video 'a day in life of a linked in employ' he said it was like that but worse. He even saw internal communications that showed direct corruption and pay offs for no bid contracts. Including pay offs to government regulators that are supposed to check up on them. He quit that job after a few months because he got so disgusted by it.

I work for a very well known petrol station company(hint: it has a shape and a letter in the name). A few years ago my company started to sell car wash vouchers card around Father’s Day. I was curious to see if they were any good so I did the maths on them. For 30 or 40 car wash’s voucher the deal was pretty decent, you made some good savings on it. It was they I noticed in the small writing on the card that it had an expiry date that activated when you buy the voucher. I then did the Maths and found out that you would have to wash your car, 1 1/2 times a day to fully utilise the voucher before it expired. Seriously, if you use up the whole card by the end, you would have no paint left on your car. I started after this point to encourage customers not to buy the card.

I worked at a large chain seafood restaurant in Vancouver, right on kitsilano Beach that offered "fresh" seafood, I don't think I saw a single seafood item that wasn't frozen for weeks before it was used. Our greens from Okanogan greens were "grown in California" The chowder was bought in, and we steamed the bags to heat them. Our crab ravioli was dried pasta with maybe crab inside, who knows... I didn't really want to find out.

2:20 - Unacceptable?! Fuck nah. That's worthy of commendation, applause, endorsement even. Based on that situation and how directly responsible that boss was for the harm he caused? Especially when it wasn't even for a good reason just greed.. he's lucky she didn't do a lot worse. There's a line at some point in the "a lot worse" where it would *become* unacceptable. Even at that unless it was particularly vile I'd still understand. We used to do a lot worse to our bosses when they did harm to us employees. I'm proud of this lady. Good old Swingline swing

Back in the 80s I worked for a burger King restaurant and we won second place for the best restaurant for the Western region so CA, AZ, OR, WA, NV,, and maybe some other states. So a really big area. What floors me was that we did not do anything like a white glove treatment or anything just want was nessasery to clean up. And we got second place in about a quarter of the entire US. This was back when I was making $3.25 an hour and the prise I got was a $100 bonus. I never wanted to think about the stores that got the lowest scores.

I work at a logistics maintenance hub. The customers are the various logistics companies that bring their fleets in for service and repair. It can be from hydraulic equipment to lorries and loaders. What the customers do not know is that to repair one lorry or hydraulic lift, the maintenance hub may scavange a part from another customer's piece of equipment to get one out. Then we order one new part for the one we scavanged the part from and scavange another part from someone else. The boss keeps leaving messages to do this. It has been working for years. But, I think it is a rather questionable practice. But it does get things done.

Coup Denmark 2-3 balls of vanilla ice, some whipped cream, chocolate and a cookie for around 5,50 or 6€. The difference? The coup Denmark came with hot chocolate. Thinking about it now, it makes sense. Subway employee. The Subway Series is basically a scam to get people to pay for the old sandwiches but with extra stuff (double cheese, avocado, bacon, etc.) while hiding the old sandwiches on the menu. The hotshot italiano is literally the exact same thing as a spicy italian but with double cheese. The outlaw and the philly are the exact same sandwich, steak and cheese with double cheese. The tuna itself is actually deep red/pinkish in color but the reason why it's so light in color when served is because it's almost entirely mayo. Cold cut combos are drenched in slimey stuff and are disgusting. Managers easily get away with stealing tip money. At the one I worked at, and I imagine many others, what you put in the tio jar is actually mostly going to the owner or manager. What a lot of people don't know is that we get practically nothing from the tip jar (and the amount you get is VERY biased, they pick and choose who they want to have tips) but if you hand an employee the tip and say "this is for you." Then the employee can keep it. Do not put money in the tip jar if you want the employees to get a fair portion of it. Many people have put money in the tip jar thanking me and thinking that I'm going to be getting a decent share of it when in reality I might get 5 cents out of their $3 tip if I'm lucky. My manager got angry with me and a coworker when she found out someone handed us both a $20 bill as a tip and told us that it was for us. Our manager was angry that we didn't put it in the tip jar.

The whole deal with macies is the same with dollar general. My grandson was killed and every local business let is put up a donation jar to help pay for the funeral. The local dollar general refused saying that they weren't allowed to. A couple of weeks later, every time you spent money there, the cashier would ask, "would you like to round your purchase up to the next dollar, donate a dollar, etc. to help kids with whatever?" The reason they couldn't let is put up something for my grandson, is because the company couldn't use it as a tax write off.

I probably would’ve at least broken the legs of the manager that made it so my child couldn’t get medical care from an accident that I had been paying for medical insurance from my paycheck. I probably would’ve first gone into the office calmly to discuss it to see if it’s an error or the insurers part before attacking him and after figuring out it was his negligence I would’ve left. Waited for him to leave work and catch up to him somewhere more private to inflict the street justice on his ass so that he has to deal with the same bullshit issues of not having insurance when he needs it himself. Followed up by going to the best negligence lawyer in the state to go after him personally and the business for not actually verifying stuff that should be handled by a legal/insurance department that actually knows the laws the company has to follow. That shit is just horrible that someone would do that crap because their top 1% job doesn’t “give them enough” already due to the persons horrible money management abilities.

I’ve always used reputable breeders to get my pure breed dogs but always investigate how often (many breeding cycles because it shouldn’t be more than 2-3 tops if they started at 2 year mark giving birth & should the female dog should have at least one normal heat cycle before being allowed to even think about having more puppies) the breeder will have puppies with their dogs, how young dog is when they begin to breed her (if they start under 2 years I don’t want a dog from that type of a mill breeder), and we usually go for people who have championed lines of dogs because most of the time they love their k9 companions that transfers into excellent care for the dogs. We don’t fix any of our dogs but we make sure to rotate between the male/female being isolated from the pack but in visual closeness and still being able to move around freely to keep them from getting pregnant when we aren’t ready or don’t want puppies yet. When removing the dogs ability to breed you are actually removing a large portion of their endocrine system that deals with their hormones that regulate most body functions. Also when we have puppies we don’t sell them but will gift them to family/friends that we know take proper care of the animals otherwise we will just expand our pack of dogs and take good care of them.

Nursing homes might have been better with previous generations that actually had a work ethic, didn’t have such a level of entitlement, and before social media has aided at the decay of society faster than nearly any other invention. I don’t even like going to most hospitals/dentists because it has become a common practice for everyone to try to push their jobs on to other people, even when they aren’t licensed to do the job or have any qualifications for the job at hand. My wife used to be a dental assistant and by the time she finished her dental hygienist school in 2019 (only 2 years of not being an assistant that helped the doctors, hygienists, and the rest of the staff because their job title is Dental Assistant [which means they assist the dental office]) but refuse to even help the doctors most of the time unless they’re backed into a corner and have no other choice. Currently they try to get my wife help out the assistants, assist the doctors, assist the front desk staff/insurance staff (specialized training is needed for those 2 jobs), and even do a large amount of the office managers actual management work. People wonder why AI will take their jobs it is because they’ve become way to lazy & entitled for a paycheck without actually helping the company earn any money. The same workers complain that my wife isn’t doing enough when she is doing her actual patient notes, treatments, setting up for her treatments (the job of the dental assistants), having to chart all of the periodontal depths/dental codes (she has to remove one of her gloves to do this and then reapply a fresh glove. When you have 30 plus teeth with 4 sides to each tooth that ends up taking significantly longer than an assistant who gets paid less than half of the hygienists to sit there to input the information to increase the offices production). These workers literally just have to make sure the office is running properly & everyone is doing their position to get a $800 bonus a month and the vast majority of them refuse to do anything but complain about not making enough money while they go out to eat everyday, go out drinking/partying at night, and always buying the newest “cool in thing” that society is raving over. Schools truly need to go back to teaching common sense, critical thinking skills, and developing a strong work ethic because this touchy feely crap is what has consistently aided to the downfall of western culture and society.

@@jeremyk.6456 We should also teach kids to think for themselves & give them real skills like mechanic work or sewing, & let them cuss out weird creepy guys. I've learned those lessons too late. I've straight up stop showing up to a job without putting in a 2 weeks notice & found a better one pretty quick. I teach my young cousins the same mentality & they don't act rotten to elders, & aren't afraid to mow lawns for cash. Idk why people think doing what you want or cussing out bosses is bad, what are they gonna do, shoot me?

So the guy who shat on Walmart well that is a guy who works at a different store. Turns out Walmart actually has quality control and large amounts of it. Walmart got into trouble a few decades ago and learned from their mistakes. Walmart is the only store that has quality control. Walmart is the only store that double seals their milk because their was a stupid fad of people spitting inside of milk and Walmart was the only store that thought about hmm maybe lets not let this bullshit happen at our store so lets add a quick protective seal to prevent this stupid shit and any other stupid shit from happening. Walmart has an agreement with the venders that basically allows Walmart to get its money back if the food goes bad or looks like it might go bad. As someone who use to work at Frys which was a competitor there was a lot of brain washing to hate all other stores going on and I started questioning the stupidity of these allegations and turns out Frys was doing the shit they claimed Walmart was doing. Albertsons and Safeway were even worse. Albertsons and Safeway are the biggest scumbag companies ever and they are trying to merging with Kroger because all 3 companies are failing badly because employees are quitting and the stores get very little customers mainly because of how over bullshit priced their shit is. You can get a 24 pack of hot dogs from Walmart for $4 while that same item sold at Albertsons, Safeway, or any Kroger store with what ever bullshit name they claim to call themselves will charge $10 to $18 for that exact same item. For 12 pack of Ramen Walmart is $3.24 while Safeway, Albertsons, and Kroger are charging over $5 to over $8 for that same bullshit. Also Safeway tries to get people to go into the store and I have found out they are literally lying about everything in the adds. Hell it pissed me the fuck off when I went into the store to get soda and the sale in the add was completely fake as shit and turns out the real price was 5 fucking times what the sale said and the sale turns out was for 13 pack sodas which do not exist. They literally made sales for items that do not exist and Walmart is the only grocery store not performing that fucking stupid ass bullshit scumbag scam. Walmart is the only store that is not being absolute scumbags. Walmart actually is not morons and they see their 3 biggest competitors being absolute scumbags and are actually being good to their employees and customers to get more sales because the more people see the others being scumbags the more money Walmart makes and the more its competitors are forced to close stores. Albertsons and Safeway have literally had to close over 700 stores in the last 4 years. Kroger has closed nearly 3000 stores in the last 5 years. Walmart has built nearly 1800 more stores in the last 5 years. Walmart is growing while the others are dying off. Hell I stopped going to Safeway and Albertsons because of bullshit practices of not having the actual item and never carrying the item to literally taking the item off the shelf and storing it into the back before the sale starts and then bringing the fucking item back off the shelves after the sale ends so they do not have to give people discounts. Kroger, Albertsons, and Safeway are trying to merge to save their dying companies but that would violate federal laws and so they are being rejected massively. Walmart is growing in power because the other 3 are too stupid.

That last one was highly suspect... They were supposedly in the dairy dept at wal mart...then they said flour would be kept in the cooler... Ummm... Flour isn't considered dairy. And even as bad as wal mart is, if the employees are putting flour in the dairy cooler, then you shouldn't be posting their word on here as gospel. Been in retail grocery for most of my adult life (nearly 20 years as a meat cutter, but pulled stretches as produce and dairy manager, at times, more than once, for different companies). OP, you really should get these vetted better before you post them as gospel. Hope y'all can appreciate the irony in my comment...

Nursing Homes are just barely better than concentration camps.
