Do you need a 3 fletch, 4 fletch, 6 fletch, Offset, Helical, 1°, 3° ,6°? What do your arrows come with now? Hopefully I can answer these questions and more in this episode of "Building Better Arrows". I knew these ideas and variations existed but I gotta say this video clarifies everything. I shoot modern longbows and I use 5” shield cut feather fletches. This video clarifies enough to help me understand better and to experiment in the future. Lastly, I have to disagree with you when you said that feather fletchings are less durable than plastic, feathers have a specific flexibility that helps with arrow flight as well as compressing into a tight space such as a wound cavity or target. All in all, I say shoot what you like and great video 👍🏻🏹

Thanks, glad it helped! Yea there are many types of fletches and it can get confusing! As far as the feathers I knew that would be a contentious of the subject, I only shot feathers for a short time but found that if I was shooting field tips I had no issue, but when I was shooting with a Broadhead that forced rotation in the target the feathers could not hold up to that rotation as much and would break off or become permanently disfigured on the other side of the target. That doesn't mean they're not durable at all but they are probably less durable than a lot of the vanes out there.

My only issue is having to order 24 of them and looks like all the same color. I would really love to order say 12 3 fletch and 12 4 fletch or 2 different colors. I am not planning to redo my whole arrow lot immediately just want to try a few. I am really tired of fletching/refletching so I may give these a try. I emailed and asked if I could break the 24 up into 2 colors and 3 and 4 fletch.

Brendan one of the owners is a nice guy I'm sure he may be willing to accommodate. The good news is they are pretty cheap with the discount for that many vanes. They are lighter and so so much better than fletching. Good luck!

I can't seem to find the 65mm x 7.5mm on there website? Smallest for the 65mm is 10mm. Can you help steer me in the right direction?
