What would happen if you were to take the F-Zero's high-speed racing and combine it with the aerial combat of Star Fox? Well, Whatnot Games have sought to answer that question in their recent indie title: Star Racer! This retro-styled racer is a blast from the past which puts its own spin on the classic F-Zero formula by introducing flight sections into its track design. But does it stick the landing? Star Racer looks like a hoot and a holler. I had the same reservations about the game-breaking flying option when this video began, but seeing it balanced with the boost bar definitely alleviates those concerns. Very good! 🥳

The flight makes races feel really dynamic and thankfully isn't game-breaking! Very excited to see how it's incorporated into future track designs!

Might have to check this out tbh. Never got into either star fox or f zero just due to the fact I never had them but maybe l I’ll find some love for them through this. Good video fobb!
