These are different meals I had within a week. I didn't follow an entire day, which I will do another time. I have lost both weight and inflammation and feel great because of intermittent fasting. See the pictures in the video for my intermittent fasting results.

Thank you for this video! I started intermittent fasting 3 years ago, I was 165lbs, now I'm 127. I have to say I started rough, going straight to 16/8 and some days I would not eat anything. A little piece of my mind for people who have behavior problems concerning food: be careful. It's easy to get super motivated by the weight loss and stop eating. But remember: food is your fuel. You NEED it to live. Absolutely listen to your body during your fasting journey, don't think you've failed because you couldn't last those 16 hours. It's ok. Try again next time. Life is different everyday and sometimes we just can't last the whole fasting window. And sometimes you'll feel great and have a longer fasting window. Dont make it a burden on yourself. It's about you and the love you give yourself. The results for me are good weight-wise, however I have learnt several things along the way. I have chronic vertigo and migraines because I slimmed down too fast (the euphoria of losing the weight got the better of me). I was also not eating healthy at first. Just fasting. This works for a bit, but very quicly you will naturally turn to healthy food, why? Because you'll be starving. Junk food doesn't feed you, it fills you up with trash. And when you fast, you eliminate the trash in your body. Get it? It won't be pleasant haha. Anyway it's a long journey and it will help you better know yourself too. Very well worth it.

Make sure to cut out sugars and white flour. You can use Monkfruit instead and almond flour, tons of vegetables. Stay away from soy, corn which is highly inflammatory. Blessings to you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

However, fasting in the Bible was with absolutely nothing. No water, nothing. Just a bit of trivia there.

I have enjoyed these videos. I have been trying to do the fasting as well with no significant weight loss. Christmas cookies were my downfall. They are gone now. Did you cut out all sugar? I am thinking that is the key for me. Do you only eat 2 meals a day and no snacks?
@sandysteinbrook
@sandysteinbrook Жыл бұрын
@@debbieb6054, I realize this video is not following a whole day of eating, which may be confusing. I think cutting out sugar, mostly in the beginning is a very good idea! I don't fully cut it out. I like something sweet, but not daily. And whatever sweet I am eating, it is small. Like a small piece of dark chocolate or a cookie. One. Not 4. Many days my first meal of the day is big, and I am too full to eat again until dinner. But other times I eat something smaller as a first meal, like a bowl of greek yogurt, and then I eat again late afternoon, and then dinner. But, they aren't huge meals. But, I always feel satiated and don't feel the need to snack any in between. I make sure I eat until I am comfortably full and have learned to stop eating once I feel that in my stomach. I had to start eating slower so I could read those hunger cues.
@sandysteinbrook

You can do it, Penny. Intermittent fasting is definitely a process. For some the weight falls off very quickly. For others it comes off slower on the scale BUT, you start to feel your clothes fitting better, even if the number on the scale hasn't moved much. Just realize it is a process and don't get frustrated and give up too quickly.

Me too, I’ve been doing it for a week, I’ve lost 5 pounds and my face and my neck are slimming doing. I’m so excited because out of all the things that I’ve tried that’s the only thing that’s working, and the only thing that I’m consistent with to be fair. It’s easy for me to be consistent with fasting because it’s not that hard.

This is amazing information. My wife and I have been doing this for a couple of weeks now. As healthcare workers, do you understand how we tend to take care of others and not ourselves. Our kids one is finally in college and one is a senior in high school and we’re finally finding the time in our 50s to take care of our self we are doing the 16/8 and after a couple weeks it’s getting much easier as you said. I really appreciate how you present things and your videos as I have watched other people and they don’t simplify things like you have. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos and the share your knowledge I especially appreciate the Biblical point of view.

I love that bread! It's so good and hearty. Will be having it with my tuna salad when I break my fast today...along with my dill pickle. I fast at least 16 hours, but sometimes 18, sometimes 20...just depends on when I actually feel hungry. I've been doing this for 6 weeks now. I've lost 8 lbs which may not feel like much to some, but the biggest difference to me is the edema is gone, and my clothes are feeling better. I had a choice, either I could buy new clothes and continue feeling bad, or I could again wear the clothes in my closet that were just waiting on me to do better. For me, I need my health back. Thank you for explaining this so easily. I've prayed about my weight and health, I truly believe God led me to Fasting. I'm feeling so much better, and am So Thankful for my answer to prayer. Thanks Sandy.

Its really easy and not too impressive, but I really like it and make it often. It is the sourdough starter poured into a hot skillet with a little bit of oil. I mix in garlic sat with parsley. It cooks like a pancake. When it starts to bubble I flip it over. The seasonings give it good taste, along with the sourdough taste.

I'm in my 2nd week now. I will start trying to make 1/2 my plate veg/fruit, but I won't be eating like you. Yours made me feel like a diet, you also mentioned portion control. Please don't be offended, you're the reason I finally decided to give this a try. The only bread I eat is home made sour dough. Sometimes a store bought tortilla and Hamburger Buns. I really appreciate all of the meal ideas! They all look delicious. I have been doing the 16:8. My mornings used to be slow, and I would take my time to graze through breakfast. Now I find my mornings to be incredibly productive, because I have to keep myself busy to keep myself from thinking about food. I do suffer from horrific bloating. By the end of the day, often times I look 6 months pregnant, not joking. I don't eat fermented foods or take probiotics. After watching this, this is something I am going to have to start doing because the bloating is what bothers me the most.

Ok, you totally need to start probiotic foods and even taking probiotics. I know IF was part of getting the bloat away too. One of my friends said she looked like she was pregnant and the intermittent fasting is what keeps the bloat away for her now.

Thank you, I thought I was doing IF and couldn’t figure out why not an ounce dropped and now I know, I was adding flavours to water and cram to my coffee, I thought once no food was going in outside my fast window, I was doing it right…..and you just appeared this morning when I was scrolling and now I have had such an aha moment…..I’m ready now in my 56th year and properly ready with a whole new energy to do IF properly now thanks to you…. You have reenergised me with this correct information. ❤

I really have to say thank you. I have struggled all my life with weight first with throwing up but I was the perfect size but not healthy, to eat everything in sight. To exercise 4 plus hours a day. To every diet under the sun. Then babies 80 lbs needing to lose, it's been 21 yrs this weight has been on. Discouragement set in. Thyroid problems and stress. But now you where you spoke about the Bible. I thought this was going to be so hard but as someone who has a hate love relationship with food. It's easy not to eat. My problem is knowing what and when to eat. This video was so extremely helpful. Thank you so very much.. please consider a recipe in a link so we can copy and make. Also thank you for being an encouragement. I am 52 on Tuesday and I finally feel I am doing what God wants for my health.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us . This was my first day of 16 hour fast and I ate 10-to 6pm . The only thing that was harder for me was giving up the whipped oat milk in my morning coffee. I had it black and I know I will get used to it . I know I can enjoy it that way once I break my fast but I like early morning coffee. I am doing this to take some wt of like you did . I cannot wait to see the results in a month or two .🎉🎉

Oh good! Thanks for letting me know that. I cooked mine in the instant pot but you can also use a slow cooker. 3 chicken breasts, 1/2 jar of chunky salsa, 1 heaping TBSP taco seasoning (I make my own and have a video on that) and 1/2 cup of water. Cook on manual for 15 minutes. Shred the chicken after it is cooked. Super easy!

Hello! Thank you for watching! I have read that after a while it is important to switch the fasting times up to keep our bodies from getting used to the same thing. The chicken is literally just 3 chicken breast, 1/2 jar salsa, 1 heaping TBSP of taco seasoning (I make my own and did a video on YT for that). Put it in the instant pot with 1/2 cup water and manual pressure for 15 minutes. Shred when done. The sourdough flat bread is actually just sourdough started that I make like a pancake. A little oil in the pan and mix garlic salt and some parsley on the sourdough starter and cook like a pancake. I make it thin enough that it is pliable like flatbread.

Of course I will share! :) I am 5' 3". I started in August at 148 pounds. I have now dropped down to 134 pounds as of yesterday. I know many people have much faster results, but as I read Gin Stephens book, "Fast. Feast. Repeat", she said to trust the process and the weight will come off. Although the scale wasn't moving quickly, I was feeling so much better! More energy and my clothes were starting to fit better. Inflammation was leaving my face. That is where I could really see it in pictures.

Just found your channel and you give great advice. Recent diabetic here and I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for almost a year because I’ve learned that every time I eat, insulin is released and for me, insulin is a fat storing hormone! I didn’t need 3 meals and 2 snacks every day. The only thing I don’t eat are starches and I have cut my carbs way down. Starches and carbs are not essential nutrients…having said that, I do enjoy a slice of cake on my birthday and chic-fil-a on occasions with my grand babies! Btw I went from 181 to 137 and I am not on any diabetic medication. I wish doctors would advise newly diagnosed type 2 diabetics to change their way of eating before throwing medication at them! Looking forward to your videos!

I'm so glad I clicked on your videos about IF. You explained it so well, and I loved the perfect plates. My question... what does a person eat if they are a pickier eater? I don't think I'm super picky, but I don't like avocado, berries, and yogurt. Those seem to be very trendy, healthy foods lately. I don't think I'd enjoy my coffee without cream and sweetener. So I will cut it out completely until my eating window. I just turned 50 in Dec and have gained too much weight over the last 5 years. I have started walking daily since the new year. I need to lose weight, but I'm just focusing on forming a walking habit right now. I will add in the IF 18/6 now, too. Looking forward to more of your videos.

I just could not eat again by 6:00 because I was still full so I didn’t eat again until this morning at 10:00, 18 hours later. I am working on figuring out how to eat heathy with my schedule being odd right now. Bacon and eggs for breakfast then soup and sandwich for lunch is probably not that healthy. I so agree that the Bible told us about fasting and when the Bible tells us something it is for a specific “healthy” reason. We are learning more about autophagy, but it has been around forever. Dr. Jason Fung and Gin Stevens both talk about it. I eat what I want, mainly good but if I want a treat and am in my eating window…I eat it. 80/20 good eating. I fast 18/6 but sometimes I extend it and change my hours around all the time my main thing is that I fast 18 hours until I eat again. It is a lifestyle not a fad. Also maybe talk more about the “ clean fast” . I think some who it is not working for do not follow the clean fast. Great job to you for getting the good information out there on IF!
