This new version of gary is interesting. Afraid of falling behind ash pushes him. I think machamps time with gary affected his relationship with ash. Great part overall.

I feel like we haven't seen the end of the effects of Garys training, nor is Ash truly ready just yet to beat him. Although, he's definitely got the right heart and mentality to do it. Ash just needs more focused training with his mons and maybe a better understanding of his rivals new mentality.

This was a very good episode!! Loved the P1 tournament and the fact Ash caught the Absol. I also like the new personality Gary developed under Agatha I can totally see him doing really well in Johto especially if he kept spamming rage fist 😉

Some have said he feels like Paul, and while there're slight similarities, the main inspiration is Blue in the Pokemon Adventures manga

@@ElectroPikachu a little similar but he’s not a carbon copy of Paul since Gary and Agatha loves their Pokémon and care for them so if you can show that in a small scene it would be enough to show how different they are. Also Paul released his Pokémon upon losing that not what Gary did here it was Damian who released that Poliwhere

Soooooo goooooodddddd I’ve loved following your work and listened to this particular story from start to finish everytime a new episode drops Possible idea I’ve been writing “WHAT IF ASH’s Kanto journey started in a different region” Possibly like going to Alola after being late to professor Oak and instead of getting pikachu maybe his mom offers the idea to go on a small vacation and he ends up getting a starter elsewhere. I’d love to see how you would layout something like that. I doubt I’d make the attempt to post it myself 😅

Oak Prepared is on break for a while, as I want to try and focus on other series I have (especially finishing the Journeys Rewrite). There is no exact date for GSA returning, but we are in talks about ideas for it

You're right. They aren't. However, Geodude was allowed in the P1 Grand Prix in canon. I looked it up beforehand, the tournament allowed anything that was Fighting type in the card game, which includes Rock and Ground type Pokemon

While you are making What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash Season 3, here is an idea: In the games, Silver stole Totodile from Professor Elm and stole a Sneasel from a trainer from Cinnabar Island. Here, in the HGSS saga of What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash, none of that happens. Instead, Silver acquired Totodile from Profesor Elm in a typical fashion instead of stealing it. Second, Silver got Sneasel from Looker after graduating from Detective School and has become his partner, like how Croagunk is to Looker. There is no stealing involved. Second, after the events of the Kanto League, A.J. will be sent to Juvienile Detention Center after committing Pokemon abuse on Sandslash and his Pokemon. Not only is A.J.'s pokemon will be confiscated, but, possibly his Pokemon Trainer's License will be revoked as well.

If Silver stole Totodile from Professor Elm's lab in GSA, did any of the characters in GSA had asked Silver on how did he acquire Totodile. I'm going to guess that if anyone asked how did Silver got Totodile, it will be Silver's dark secret.

Also, do you agree to have A.J. be sent to Juvienile Center for Pokemon abuse, like how Giovanni got sent to Juvienile Detension Center.

@@ElectroPikachu Here is another idea. As seen in GSA Season 3: Heart Gold and Soul Silver saga, Silver is going to have a Sneasel as his partner Pokemon when he is going to be a junior detective, how would he acquire Sneasel. Is Silver going to acquire Sneasel through Looker.

Um Electro Pikachu You do know that the P1GP only allows Fighting type Pokemon right so why is a Nidoking being entered? I mean I kind of get Rhydon since its a Rock Type considering Brock entered with Geodude in the OG Timeline, but not Nidoking. If you want a Poison type should've been Toxicroak since he's also part Fighting type.

The P1 Grand Prix allows any Pokemon that is fighting type in the card game. That includes both Rock and Ground Pokemon. You can find this on Bulbapedia if you don't believe me

His team has so much power even with a krabby i feel its weird that no one takes advantage of krabby evolving quickly in what ifs it clearly was already close to evolution in canon so why not use that here for most pokemon it might be a weird shift but its a kingler not much of a change hell even stat wise it doesnt up by much just its attack really

@@darkdragon7210 game mechanics don’t transfer to the anime evolution is purely random other than outside variables such as stones or environment. example of random evolution are metapod who beat not a single mon but after wanting to protect ash evolves same with pidgeotto and charmeleon evolving into charizard just being mad at aerodactyl. Charmander evolving into charmeleon was also absurdly delayed since after “ beating” the heard of excegutor it wasnt an instant evolution it was after everything was settling down

Anything I can find on Krabby states that it was due to the intensity of that specific battle, which made Krabby evolve so quickly. It would not just be any battle in which Krabby would evolve into Kingler.

This version of Gary reminds me of Sasuke from Naruto when he obsesses with power when Naruto one-ups him, did you base Gary on Sasuke or something?? Because I keep seeing Gary as Sasuke, the next thing we know is that Ash uses talk-no-jutsu on Gary 😅
