for those wondering, the 82 game season wasnt officially adopted until 67/68. in the 60's they still played 80+ but before that they were mostly 72 game seasons with some being fewer in the earliest days of the nba the only real outlier among mvps is walton. every other mvp up until recently played 70+ games or its equivalent in the case of shortened seasons, which makes sense. how can you be the most valuable player in the league if you dont freakin play
