You nailed it Rosa I left my first job and went to cvs and got some more experience and renewed my license this year and I just got hired in a hospital as a tech for more than I was making at Cvs while I’m working on my healthcare administration degree!

Hey Rosa, I love your videos! I just got hired as a Pharmacy Tech in retail and I have the same goal path as you. I want to be MLS as well. How hard was it being a Pharmacy tech, studying for the PTCB as well as going to school for MLS?

Hi thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoy my videos! Honestly it wasn’t that bad for me because I already had two years of experience working at the pharmacy before I took the PTCB exam. I took the class as well through Walgreens and I felt like I learned a lot. I did work three jobs, clinicals, and was a part of 2 clubs all while studying but I’m crazy and love being busy so it wasn’t difficult for me but everyone is different.

i can be on my feet all day but have trouble looking down all the time (neck trouble) like reading from a cell phone. Does this work require to be looking down for a long period of time?

Yes, when you are filling prescriptions and looking at prescriptions that patients bring in.

Hello! I am interested in becoming a pharmacy tech and I've already applied to a few retail pharmacies in my area. My question is do I have to be registered as pharmacy tech first or do I have to wait until I am hired?

It depends on your state and the employer. Check their requirements. Some may want you to be and others can help you with that process once you are working on the job.

Hi Rosa, what’s the recommended, shorter way to earn the pharmacy technician license, is it necessary to take classes or would just studying through the books would be good enough to help on passing the exam?. And thanks for the video and the information

I had the same question! I have been having a hard time find an accredited online school to take the course in order to become a pharmacy tech so if u have recommendations let me know and i think it’s a new rule for ptcb that u need to take a class or work a minimum 500 hours but not 100 percent sure. I’m from Cali so any advice helps please :)

Do you already work as a pharmacy technician? I’m not sure what state you’re in but I would look up the state requirements if you’re able to get on the job training I would do that first and then take the exam from learning in the book.

I’m in Florida, currently not working as a pharmacy technician, I’m willing to. I have applied a while ago to retail store pharmacy as a non licensed pharmacy technician perhaps trainee, it didn’t seem there were any effectiveness, therefore right now I’m trying to get the license
