Man i had gastritis last year and what a rollercoaster it was. Took so long to heal. Cabbage juice and eating healthy, no junk food, and exersizing plus many many months and I've been back to normal for over 2 months now. Even eating anything I want except in moderation on junk foods.

@kd2533 it's infuriating, isn't it? I was diagnosed with gastritis today and the doctor didn't even bother to tell me what foods I should avoid until I inquired at the last moment. It's almost as if they expect us to have visions in the night where we unconsciously assimilate all the knowledge on how to not make Gastritis worse. Most of them are just so used to seeing sick people that they look at us like chickens in a poultry farm; they just diagnose and prescribe medicines, and if it doesn't work, well then, too bad. There are millions of other chickens in the line.

I was just diagnosed with gastritis on 5/4/22 by endoscopy. My symptoms are the following, nausea, early satiety, constant burping, feeling full all the time, loss of appetite, pain in the upper belly and radiating through my back as well as weight loss. Since being diagnosed, I have been eating a very strict diet, walking an hour a day, meditating, and getting 7-8 hours of sleep. I am already seeing improvements in my symptoms. The nausea has almost completely left, I used to burp about 40 times an hour, now it is more like 10 times an hour and the burps are more gentler rather than the hard belching I had before. I am even getting a bit of appetite back. I still got long ways to go but I am so happy I am already seeing very good improvements. Never took the PPI's, flushed them down the toilet.

I had to come and say thank you so much to Dr. Berg. I got really sick about 15 days ago now. It was so bad - the stomach burning, I was in tears some nights. I ended up at the quick care and they diagnosed Gastritis. They prescribed Prilosec, but I hate taking meds and really wanted a natural way to help this. I already do intermittent fasting though not keto (and my stomach felt good as long as I was not eating) but once I ate. Oh boy! The pain! I'm on day two of introducing cabbage into my meals. And wow! All I can say is that this is such a lifesaver. A quarter cup of coleslaw with each meal, wow! Just wow! Some sauerkraut with dinner last night and wow! I have had two nights now of being able to sleep without that burning pain that brought me to tears. Thank you so much for this.

I quickly found out that intermittent fasting makes my stomach produce lots of acid, so it appears IF can exacerbate the issue for some people. I tried 16/8 fast: stop food at 4pm, break my fast at 10am. Well, I’d wake up in the morning and immediately get the gnawing acid feeling, and doesn’t stop no matter how much water I drink, it won’t stop. Only when I put food in my stomach it subsides. I also wake up in the night with it at 3-4am. I’d recommend cutting out dark chocolate, that did improve things for me somewhat. I’m going to try cabbage, but I already deal with so much bloating and gas from any kind of fibre, it makes me nervous. P.s. NEVER do ACV (apple cider vinegar) if you have this - pouring acid on your raw stomach lining is a BAD IDEA, like Dr Berg says. Unfortunately easy mistake to make as gastritis can resemble SIBO, for which ACV is recommended. Agony.

All I can say is that cabbage juice worked miracles for me. I went to a naturopath and did a breath test to rule out H-plori. It turns out I was negative. The diagnosis was simply Gastritis with low stomach acid. I was then put on Betaine Hydrochloride which fixed 80% of this issue with one single capsule twice a day. I have now been juicing cabbage for 3 weeks and I am 95% better (3 cups of cabbage juice a day). It's actually incredible how much a difference it has made. Took about 10 days of take cabbage juice for the benefits to kick and to start noticing the difference.

@@user-yv1pq1uq7s In my case, I could only handle one capsule of Betaine HCL per meal whereas most people need a lot more capsules. The Betaine HCL fixed majority of the problem (90% of all gassiness is gone). I started juicing cabbage and it's pretty much 100% better. I should also add that I'm also on Zinc Carnosine (another supplement Dr. Berg Recommends). Overall, I do think you're right. There is something odd about me only being able to tolerate 1 capsule. But somehow it has worked for me.

According to the late Jay Kordash, the Juiceman, the cabbage juice must be at room temperature because rapidly drinking cold juice will cause nausea and you have to drink it all in about a minute after juicing. He said the reason for that is sulforaphane degrades rapidly. Also, eating whole cabbage with gastritis would be torture. Your gut is in no condition to digest whole cabbage.

In some of his videos on fasting, Dr Berg explains that fasting increases stomach acid. But if one has gastritis, one's stomach is not in a condition to have more stomach acid. So he said in another video to use wheatgrass juice powder and green vegetables powders to rebuild the stomach lining. I also think Omega3 would help a lot too. Thank you for the video. Endoscopy discovered gastritis, chronic which I think is due to stress and possibly coffee. After seeing your video, I now understand it will take a long time to heal so I plan to give up coffee. I have been gradually progressing into intermittent fasting because my blood sugar was up to 107 and wanted to reduce risk of diabetes. I have lost 15 lbs or so, mostly around my stomach. I raise a kitchen garden so have access to vegetables year round. I plan to eat a fresh cabbage leaf or two each morning in the garden to help with this gastritis. I made the mistake of drinking basil tea with lemon and sure enough had horrible stomach pain, so now I recognize what has been going on while working in a high stress job (nursing). Fortunately I have retired and the garden is my joy. I plan to follow you and try my very best to get healthier. Thanks so much for the work you do in helping others.

I had a gastroscopy today and found out that I have chronic gastritis - for 6 months in fact. Prior to this, I'd been trying to cure the 'mystery' illness with Apple cider vinegar and sauerkraut lol. I'm advised to avoid high fat foods and fried foods, but this is what I live on now - with Keto. So I'll have to work around how I cook food - maybe use the oven more than the frying pan! Intermittent fasting isn't a problem because I've been doing 19 hours per day for 5 months - and I've lost 72 pounds of body-weight. If anybody has any tips about how I can stay on Keto - without inflaming my gastritis, I'm all ears.

Thank you so much, Dr. Berg. You create excellent content. 🙌 Bravo! All of the symptoms have plagued me for several months. Today, I felt slightly discombobulated while on my way to the Market for Sardines. Once a week, I drink three Suja Probiotic Shots, and occasionally eat Bananas, which soothes the burning. Lately, I haven’t had much of an appetite. I have been consuming three cups of Water per day, and one Can of Sardines topped with Garlic (bad mistake, because it causes burning) and Oregano to clear the mucus. That works well. One meal makes me feel like I ate a 20-pound Turkey, and I get excessive gas. I never got around to juicing the Cabbage. Tomorrow morning, I'll be juicing.

As per some sources, cabbage juice would work for people with LOW stomach acid. I tried it anyway and juice definitely made things worse. Also, it seems like fiber (even from very healthy sources) can irritate the stomach lining, so cabbage, for example, might not be your friend.

@@haidarrosyid2029 Definitely keep going and keep trying! It's taken my husband more than two years of trying different foods and drinks and constantly adjusting according to his reactions. He is very much better than he was. He couldn't hardly eat anything for months cause he'd vomit it right back up, but he is now able to keep food in his stomach, he's gained much of his weight back, and he is in a lot less pain from doing what Dr Berg suggested. My husband has eaten many more vegetables, apple cider vinegar, he's been exercising, eating whenever his stomach is hungry, and going to bed at a regular time. I quickly found out that intermittent fasting makes my stomach produce lots of acid, so I agree with you, it appears IF can exacerbate the issue. I tried 16/8 fast, stop food at 4pm, break my fast at 10am. Well, I’d wake up in the morning and immediately the gnawing acid feeling starts, and doesn’t stop no matter how much water I drink. Only when I put food in my stomach it subsides. It also wakes me up in the night and 3-4am. I’d recommend cutting out dark chocolate if you haven’t already. That did improve things for me somewhat.

I’m a dietitian and just to make sure we’re on the same page, do you mean the pockets in the stomach or the pockets in the colon because those are different conditions and treated differently. For colon diverticulum (aka the small pockets that form in the lining of the colon), the manifestations of diverticulitis are caused by genetic and environmental factors, especially due to a low fiber diet. Diverticulosis is the chronic condition that leads to the pockets (usually asymptomatic and painless) and diverticulitis is a complication of diverticulosis where those small pockets become inflamed or infected. Doctors are definitely not trained in nutrition but I would expect GI doctors to at least know that a high fiber diet is contraindicated during a flare up episode of diverticulitis (due to the roughage in fiber exacerbating the inflammatory state that your body is in during the flare up) but high fiber diet is absolutely recommended for diverticulosis, when there are no flare ups. But again, during a flare up episode aka diverticulitis, you are supposed to be on a low fiber diet. ....does this information make sense? I hope it was not confusing especially with diverticulitis vs diverticulosis. Please follow up if you want me to clarify.

Will this do anything at all for my autoimmune atrophic gastritis? No h pylori and also have pernicious anemia so it is believed it was inherited in my case. Have tried numerous remedies over the years, got SIBO-c on top of everything else from the low stomach acid. Impossible to get rid of it. Have tried almost everything. Any suggestions doctor berg or anyone else? Thanks!

Wish we knew more on how Covid has been causing this. Once I was positive, this started immediately and now every time I have another infection, it flares back up 🤦🏼‍♀️my diet is consistent, no h pylori (unless tests are wrong), and no major irritant. Long covid on the gut is wild

@@Maria-zr7ph try zinc carnosine, your long covid might have caused zinc deficiency and drink cabbage juice to reduce inflammation. I am doing the same.
