If the officer has sufficient training and experience to be able to detect the scent of MJ, then PC can be formulated and a Carroll Search can be conducted. So you are partially correct, both a trained officer or a dog can formulate PC. Since many departments don't have dogs so they often send officers to specialized drug recognition training to overcome legal defenses.

As a person that has been pulled over a barrage of times ... i can assure you that what will determine how far those morons go is your demeanor, when look wt them straight in the eye and you're respectful but firm, and you know your rights a traffic can last less than a minute... don't drink or get high and drive, don't carry illegal weapons, and you'll be fine, remember that the only one that can really help yourself is you... there's too many misleading videos in youtube i wouldn't even bother watching those ... research the stories yourself, perhaps you find out that is worse or that it isn't , but then you'll be well informed.

So i have a question... If they do bring in dogs does that count as a search, and If it doesn't count as a search but the dogs find something is that probable cause. These videos have answered alot of questions that i have had but i couldn't find the answer to this one.

Wow... so I work as a guard, and none of the cops care for my front plate of my car "Protected by Magnum security" Ive got security clearence to do whatever I want, but if I were perhaps somewhere else like a city and were stopped, would it be probable cause as well? pretty simple, always plea your rights and if the police need to ask you to do something, refuse it. you don't need to answer any questions they ask except to identify yourself in some states, better to just tell them who you are and be done with it and not have them wondering who you are and make them suspicious.

If the cop sees you with a brake lamp out, there is probable cause to believe a violation has occurred... since he saw it occur. He does not, however, have probable cause to believe there is contraban in the car. Now if the cop stopped you for the brake lamp being out, he can develop PC of other crimes. If he smells marijuana, he has PC to believe it is in the car & can search it. If he sees what, based on his training/experience, appears to be drugs, he can search the car.

Man that sounds good, but that doesnt work. Example: police pull you over for a tag light out. Run tags, registration and driver's lisence and ALL comes back clear. police issue a repair order, you sign and given a copy. Police now decide to ask, " Do you have any guns knives or drugs on you or in your car. You say no. Police then TELL YOU TO STEP OUT OF THE VEHICLE. You cannot say no can you? You comply and end up arrested REMEMBER FOLKS WHAT YOU SAY AND WHAT THEY WRITE IN THAT REPORT......
