Radical acceptance doesn't stop the hurt, but it frees you from being stuck in limbo. I think it's important to mention that radical acceptance isn't immediate or a choice. Its a process. At least for myself, it took long time of despair, hoping, and sadness until i grieved, which also took a long time.

RA helped me tremendously. It gave me strenght to truly fight my issues. My whole family and my adult kids have ended contact with me ( my mother is a covert narcissist, she's destroyed the whole family forever ), it made me feel so ashamed, degraded and suicidal. Accepting that I'll never be able to repair the destruction done and the way my siblings think about me, has helped me start healing. Also, I've realised that even my kids are quite toxic, I always felt bad in their presence, always had to defend myself, they told me I'm sick and crazy and totally disrespected me. They know where I live, but the last message I sent my adult daughter said that I don't take their treatment of me, any longer. I'm not a doormat and I've never done to them what they did to me.

Yes! Thank you for giving me a term that I can tell people to Google instead of trying to explain why I’ll be chill in a situation they know should send me through the roof. I also default to picking a small win or a consolation prize to truck my brain into letting it go. And practicing letting little things within my control be imperfect so that I have an emotional ladder with which to climb out of that spiral. And a bit of healthy compartmentalizing; I don’t need to address that thing (that I can’t actually do anything about or is not a good use of my energy) because it’s in the concluded pile!
