In Czechia we have such jokes mostly with Czech, Russian and American. It's always something like American and Russian jump from window for their country and Czech just go for beer. :-D Czech, Russian and American argue who can make the best thing from glass. American is saying: "We can make such good and strong lens that we can see far galaxies, we call it a telescope." Russian is saying: "We can make such long glass pipe that we can see to the deepest parts of ocean, we call it oceanoscope." Czech is saying: "We can make such thing that we can see thru wall with that." Russian and American are saying: "That's not possible, how do you call that?" Czech: "Window."

Hello there..unfortunately, if you are not a Russian language speaker you will not be able to really understand most Russian jokes and specific Russian sense of humor in general even if they were translated by the best interpreter in the world..( by Russian language speaker I mean a native speaker who grew up there at least up to their 20's..lol)) I know what I'm talking about, because I'm a native speaker of both English and Russian. Russians have a very specific, unique way of describing reality and their own perception of it..Like the two handsome Russian ladies in the video correctly pointed out, a lot of things they say, are only understood by those of the same mentality.. To a certain extent this can be applied to almost any culture..but some of the humor seems to be more or less "translatable"and some - not at all.. Cheers..:-))

@@joang.6664 Some things may be hard to translate and be able to fully convey it's original meaning, but it is not impossible. Saying you would need the "best interpreter in the world" is hyperbole. My Russian husband was able to tell me some jokes, and I was hoping this video would tell me more.

the most common translation of the word "расшифровка" into English is "decryption" ,"decoding"," to decifer smth".. The word"transcript " translated into Russian as "расшифровка" is a Google translate version, from what I can see..

Расшифровка is the specific term in Russian which means a written version of any audio. Расшифровка интервью, расшифровка выступления :) we could have translated it as транскрипт, but it’s not a real Russian word yet

The one who tells the joke is expected to laugh their ass off frantically after every word, as if they're telling the funniest thing ever, like, it's even hard to breathe - let alone proper speaking, but they try the hardest and then astonish the listener with a "punchline", after which there is a call to a mental institution, because the ward has already been reserved for the storyteller.
