- CrockPot Salisbury Steak - Taco Ring - Pork Roast with Plum Sauce

Taco Ring:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine half pound cooked ground beef, 1 packet taco seasoning, 1 cup shredded cheese and 2 tablespoons water. Arrange crescent triangles in a circle on pizza pan with bases overlapping in center and points to the outside, leaving a circle in the middle. Spoon meat mixture over crescents, fold points of triangles over filling and tuck under base at center. Filling will not be completely covered. Bake 15-25 minutes (until golden brown)
CrockPot Salisbury Steak:

Pork Roast with Plum Sauce:
Mix 2 cloves garlic, 1 tsp sage, ½ tsp black pepper together and rub all over 2-3 lb pork loin roast (long one). Bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours uncovered
Sauce - Mix 1 cup red plum jam, 3 tbsp red wine vinegar, 4 tbsp soy sauce, 3 tsp dry mustard and ¼ tbsp allspice together in saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce and simmer 2 minutes.
Tip from Debbie: I put this roast on at about 9:15 am before church and bake between 275 and 300 degrees. We usually get home about 1pm and it’s awesome. If you have time, I suggest this temperature. I fixed this Sunday and it would melt in your mouth.

Its soooo weird!! The way you cook reminds me of my grandmother. Very simple, to the point, use can goods, but its soooo good and so homie🏡 . Even the way you pronounce "potatoes", reminds me of her. ❤ Its weird, bc we're black. 😂 but grandma use to cook like this. It shows good food, is good food! Everyone loves some good food.

Oh my goodness! Salisbury steak! I haven’t had them in such a long time. My granny raised me and she made the absolute best Salisbury steak. I haven’t had the heart to make them since she passed, she always made them on a cold winter day with some mashed potatoes, homemade buttermilk biscuits and green peas. It was my absolute favorite meal she made. I cannot wait to try yours! They looked amazing! It’s so funny how good can bring so many memories back and so much emotion. Thank you for reminding me of my precious granny. I miss her deeply, she was truly my best friend. Much love to you and your family!

That's so precious, and I agree that food really triggers memories 🥰 We call my momma Granny too, she's only 67 years old and was in her early 40s when we she became Granny. I actually just picked up my phone to look up the pin for this recipe 🤣 I'm putting in my grocery order and wanted to make sure I have everything for them. I have a pound of ground beef to use up and thought I would make them tomorrow, they're my husband's favorite. So yes, I believe you will love them, too. Have a blessed night.🥰

@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel I am so glad your momma is still with you. Cherish that time with her because it’s never enough time. My granny was amazing in every way. Her and my granddaddy really stepped up when my daddy died. I was 9 when he passed away and was heading to foster care but my grandparents would have none of that. My grandparents weren’t well off, my grandfather farmed and preached at the local Church of Christ and my granny had a small diner that probably never turned a nickel in profit because she was feeding those in need. Half the time her diner was a soup kitchen but she didn’t care, nobody went hungry on her watch. They gave up their retirement to raise me. They worked their tails off to make sure I had gymnastics lessons and private school even though they couldn’t afford it to make sure I had every advantage to get a good education. My daddy was supposed to play football for Bama but my senior year he had to give up his scholarship to marry my momma who left when I was 4 months old because I was on the way. He joined the Army instead playing football at Bama. I guess that’s why I worked so hard to get there. I got my degree there not just for me but for my daddy too. He was such a good man and losing him was one the hardest things I have ever dealt with. Losing my granny was the next hardest thing I had to face. I lost my daddy, my granddaddy and my granny by 16. I pushed myself to graduate a year early from high school with a 4.2 GPA and took that scholarship to Bama with pride. I’m glad they saw the potential in a poor farm girl like me. I’m currently working on my second degree from Bama. I’m getting my MBA doing Bama by distance and graduate again in May 2022.

Kristy, What a testimony! What an amazing life story and what selfless love your grandparents showed, for you and sounds like others too. I am so sorry for all of the loss that you experienced at a young age. But I am so glad that you took it in stride and really lived out the example from your grandparents raising. I am so in awe of how hard you have worked and what all you have accomplished. I can't wait for you to get your next degree and see where life takes you. You have much to be proud of. I know your family would be so proud of you, what all you have done and the person you have grown into. There is nothing that can ever take the place of our loving families. I'm so glad your grandparents were there for you when your father passed.

@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel I have to thank my granddaddy for instilling such faith in the Lord. Truly, I could not be where I am without trusting that God will provide. My faith is my rock. My granny raised me to be strong. Joshua 1:9 tells us have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed for the Lord your God is with you wherever you shall go. It carried me through the hard times, kept me focused and kept me disciplined. I know they have to be proud. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices to get where I am and be the person I am today. I trust in God that He would never give me a cross to heavy to bear alone. I have a wonderful husband, a healthy and happy son, a beautiful home and a spoiled English bulldog that I rescued down in Chattanooga. I have a good life and I believe that the hardships made me humble myself down to the Lord even more because my life could have turned out so differently had I not surrendered to His plan for me.

I made taco soup today in the Crock-Pot with my 4-year-old grandson. It came out absolutely delicious and I always put crushed yellow corn tortilla chips in the bottom of the bowl and sour cream and cheese on top. A little lime juice if I feel like it. They are all waiting to try it tomorrow because it took too long to cook for them to wait. :-)

@@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel do it! I love it and I crumble up tortilla chips on the bottom and put cheese and sour cream on the top with a little lime. It gives me food for most of a week. :-) I also have some slow cooker Taco casseroles that are Uber delicious! :-)

🥰 thanks so much. I always make it in the crock pot now. I am so bad to overcook meat like that on top of the stove, and this solves that problem for me 🤣. And at the pampered chef parties they would always take a green bell peppers and hollow them out and put lettuce, tomato, etc in them then put them inside the ring to serve. It was real pretty. When I was 8 years old my mother bought one of the first crock pots ever made and the liner the crock was not removable. At that age I made the first recipe in the Crock-Pot at home and it was a garlic stuffed pork roast. At least once a month my family wanted me to make it again. Now they are all gone I'm The last One alive and I am just middle-aged but I have my memories and my garlic stuffed pork roast! :-)

I'm praying that you have lots of great friends in your life to keep you busy and support you with all your family being passed. I remember something my husband's grandmother told me about getting older. She said the hardest part was that all of your family and friends were gone and she missed them. 😢 But she kept on going had lots of hobbies enjoyed quilting, gardening and we kept her busy as we could. 1 of My hubby's sister's made this taco ring it was so good. We topped ours with tomato, lettuce , sour cream what ever we wanted I thought it was a neat sub for tacos it was really good. Hmmm I'm gonna have to try those crock pot salisbury steaks we've never had them home made before only store bought.

I never heard of red plum jam before, but that meal looks and sound absolutely delicious! I am absolutely making that next week! (I already looked to see if my walmart carries that jam, no. Hopefully one of my other two grocery stores do!) Great video all of the meals look amazing!

She was always proud of her family, she had 9 children and I've lost count of grandkids. She was a special and hard working little woman for sure.❤ And I'm so sorry about your momma. That is a hard loss, they just seem to be the glue of the family. I'm praying for you 🙏

My mama was my best friend in the world, but she struggled with depression and addiction for so long.. she was in so much pain, and she finally decided she wanted to leave this world. It’s been a rough rough road. My relationship with God has suffered a ton. But I’m trying to get my life put back together ♥️ I’m sorry if that was too much info. Don’t wanna be a party pooper over here lol ♥️

You always have an ear here. Depression is real and such a hard problem to help someone with. I completely understand that best friend relationship with your momma and that makes the loss so much harder. Be sure to stay close to your brother and help each other cope. And talk to the Lord, it does matter how long it's been, He still cares about you and will comfort you and help you thru the hardest days. I will definitely keep you in my prayers and i am always willing to listen, cry and pray.

You family doesn’t like mushrooms. Mine refuses to eat onion. Cooking almost ANYTHING w out onions is downright sinful. Yet, they even claim to “sense” onion in seasoning packets & give me the side eye. 😑 Pleasing the family is difficult. Please give me a tip so one day I may cook something I enjoy to eat as well. 😊Thank you for the lovely recipes. You have a new sub.

Thanks Becky, I got them from Belk. They are made by Baum Brothers. I bought these a couple years on clearance. I've got the oval one and two sizes of rectangle ones. I'm pretty thrifty but I am a sucker for pretty kitchen stuff ❤ Belk still carries this brand but not this design. I also got two more porcelain baking dishes from Belk made by Cook Tools ( I believe that's the name, it's kinda their store brand) they are solid burgandy but have pretty scalloped edges. I haven't looked online for them again, so I'm not sure of their availability. But I have been very pleased with the performance of both brands and easy clean up.

Oh JoAnn that would have been helpful 🤣 400 for anywhere from 25 - 35 minutes. Mine didn't take quite as long because I stuck them in while the pork was finishing off. Thanks so much for watching, I appreciate you ❤

I do not ever keep Italian seasoning in my house! It is too strong it is a lot of stems and it doesn't belong in most recipes in my humble opinion. :-)
