As an INFP who has worked past the fear of conflict, I can tell you there is a certain level of enjoyment when I get to unleash the ultimate INFP move of “breaking a person down to the core of who they are and serving it back to them on a silver platter.”

In my experience, the INFP I interacted with tend to think she was an “empath” when she was really just projecting and think that her values and opinions are the “right” one. She thought she was trying to “break” me down but was really just projecting her issues onto me (while also being grossly wrong about me). Being a Ti dom, my Fe is the lowest so having an INFP who thinks they’re right is more frustrating, not “breaking” me down accurately or even close to actually understanding my situations/feelings right, so I just try to end it and let the INFP think they won. That experience just made me not open up to that INFP anymore. And I recognize that she was an unhealthy INFP. But it goes to show that blowing up on someone can still be done tactfully and thinking you’re “destroying” someone without them actually changing is sorta… fruitless. And at the end, these actions involving other’s feelings still have to come from a place of humility. And this is coming from someone whose lowest function is Fe ;)

@@Laura-Yu That sounds like a personal problem of that person. Normally an INFP won't go out of their way to actively try to go on mental warfare. It happens suddenly out of blue when a limit is cross. And about slapping their views on others, INFPs are usually very open to what others think. They might not agree and change their own thought process but they'll still accept your views mostly. I think the person you met might be odd one out. Personally it's too exhausting to do all that. And as an INFP I would rather avoid any chances of clash if I can and rather make them look like they won instead. Good thing you cut that person off your life though.

As a INTP I think the thing people find the most intimidating about me is that I don't visibly react to sad or shocking news. They're expecting a immediate response and expressing emotions but I'm just quietly collecting the data and processing it on the inside. It does come off like I don't care, but really I just don't know what to do.

The intimidating qualities of the sixteen personalities: ESFP: Self motivated, Ability to get back up when knocked down ENFP: Deeply conscious of important questions, Can quickly detect that you aren’t taking them seriously. Masks seriousness under humour. ESTP: One of the most cunning personalities, seeks info and knowledge, quickly sorts out outcomes ENTP: Wit and intelligence is very intimidating, likes to delve into what if questions, very curious about the truth. ESFJ: Always in pursuit of the latest fashion and trends. ESFJ knows exactly how to lure you into doing something. You can’t find a way to say no to them. ENFJ: One of the most subtly intimidating types. Has a huge social circle. High charisma, which makes anyone say all their inner secrets without any effort. ESTJ: Naturally intimidating. Will be all over you if you ‘forget the lamb sauce’. Their gift is considering every detail standing between them and success. ENTJ: Synonymous with ambition. Likes studying other people. Normally the problem solver. Always looking for the fastest and quickest way to achieve stuff. ISFP: Might be the most introverted types, but they still have an intimidating side. If their values are being disrespected, they will not tolerate it. ISFPs will bring full force of their emotions to you or the disrespecter. ISTP: Some might think the ISTP is more daredevilish than intimidating, but they are deep thinkers seeking new challenges. Masters of chilling imovability. Will never back down on what they believe. Very cool and mysterious. INFP: Most people believe the INFP is the most emotionally intense type. Is chill on the outside, but when someone crosses the boundaries, INFP will reveal its intimidating qualities and bring them down to the depths. INTP: Sharp analytical thinkers in their elements. Has a very intricate world view. When someone questions their morals and principles, they will try very hard to prove them wrong. ISTJ: Has a deep level of focus. They will go to deep lengths to prevent issues from rising. ISTJ’s commitment to success and excellence is intimidating to others. INTJ: Through medidation and deep analysis, the INTJ will try to understand the world. They will be super focused on something when they believe that it will help others. They are intimidating because all their attention is on the idea and they are unmovable. ISFJ: Their affection is almost impossible to resist, they have a calm and compassionate vibe. You will unconsciously do their way of doing things. INFJ: They study people and how they behave, they know how people tick. They are hyper aware of what others desire and why. Sometimes you won’t realize what the INFJ is doing.

Being an INFP is kind of like being a nuclear power with the means to absolutely obliterate another person if I wanted to - but I would never want to. And boy have there been temptations, as I had to deal with abusive and toxic people for much of my life. So many times I’ve been insulted or shamed and thought, man, you think you have something on me? I could tell you things about yourself that could shatter your ego and cripple you completely. But I know these people are already very damaged inside, and doing major further damage not only feels too cruel but also wouldn’t get them any closer to actually resolving the issues that are making them the way that they are, which would require healing. As an adult armed with a lot of psychological knowledge, I’ve tried to impart more objectivity on these people and relationships. The last time we had a major clash, I wrote them long letters and compiled a bunch of psychological resources to try and make them understand their interpersonal issues and where they were coming from. It helped. But they were, at that point, in a fit enough state to be receptive to that kind of thing. Some people never are. In that case, it’s best to distance yourself as much as possible.

When they realized my purpose there was to discuss something, they looked at me as if they were like, "sorry.Oh btw, what was the topic?" You're right about INFPs holding back for as long as possible. I don't want people to think badly of me. This stance has weakened in the last 10 years though thanks to my evil ENTP sister who used to intentionally provoke me into arguments for her own amusement. It always ended with me in tears because she never fought fair. The first time I ever won was when she put her faith in a bad source about something I was very knowledgeable in. I still remember the shock and fear in her eyes when I raised my voice while I think I was glaring daggers at her. She punished me later for having the audacity to beat her at anything but from then on our dynamic shifted and I wasn't willing to put up with nearly as much crap from her as I was before. We don't talk anymore. I'm a much happier person without her. Also I accept the muscular Santa you compared us to. That makes me happy ^-^

As an INFP, I have accidentally obliterated people with my insight and felt quite terrible. I didn't do it to be mean but I did it because it was what I honestly felt and I trust my intuition. Some people tend to avoid going to deep with me in conversations because they went to deep with me before and did not like it too much...lol but I've learned to take a step back and give them space if my emotionally intense conversations are too much for them...but some really appreciate my insight and have told me I should be a therapist to which I reply, "I'd be the therapist that needs a therapist."

ROFLMAO "accidentally obliterated" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh my gosh this is so relatable. Cannot count the times I spoke and then instantly felt "OMG, that was a landmine" and then next moment "My goodness, if THAT was a landmine, then what the heck am I to do with all the deep and serious talk we still have to go through? Um.... is this really already too much emotional challenge? But we've barely breathed onto the surface. What now? Must not talk with them again. They'll crumble like a cookie." And I'm already censoring myself to 95% and 50% with ppl that are close. 😅 Took some time and "accidental obliterations" to figure out that I'm a giant trying to tiptoe through a miniature world. But I look so smol, floofy n harmless externally, that people kind of..... throw themselves under my feet, not realising that internally we're VERY different and shouldn't interact without tons of safety measures installed.

Same, if pushed enough we will ruthlessly cut off and destroy a relationship like no other personality type and they never see it coming. No-one expects it from us, but if I’m mistreated enough how could they expect any other result but a nuclear explosion where their face is seared off and they are left an emotional shell of themselves. Like it takes A LOT of pushing to get me as an INFP to that point, most people cut contact or put up with a lot less, so if it gets to that point I feel it’s definitely deserved. INFP’s have stupid amounts of patience and always try to work things out with people even bullies first.

Yes, the bully is the INFP's arch-foe. While he's boorishly flaunting his extroverted capacity to steamroll over people, the INFP is quietly watching, imaginatively putting together what makes the bully tick, what his behaviors indicate about his fears, frustrations, secret dark demons, and...finally, when the bully simply cannot be allowed to get away with it anymore, the INFP launches the nuclear missile, stripping the bully naked in front of everybody. And, strangely enough, feels horrible about it afterwards.

I remember my tactic on the schoolyard with assholes and bullies was basically just peeling back every layer of their facade, explaining how pathetic they are for essentially compensating for their insecurities and dissatisfaction with their life by dominating other people. It's because of how much i know and see that will make it bad, because what i would say wouldnt be irrational stupid things made up in the heat of the moment, but things that even the person themselves might not have realized or noticed. thats a line the i personally dont think should ever be crossed, enemies or not. its not my place to say if u dont ask, cuz sometimes i feel like its not my place to know either. and other times, though this is arrogant and selfish of me, i want to tell u so badly how to fix/errors/give advice/help/show u what went wrong and where, but if u wont listen to me i dont want it to come out as cruel criticism during a crucial moment, cuz then neither of us is ever going to recover from what happens. does this even make sense?

INFP here and I'm really a calm person, a bit passive aggressive, but I handle things with calm approach even when I'm not happy with them, so people don't see me in a bad light but they do highlight my "intimidating aura". A few days ago I was late for class and my friends couldn't save me a seat so I had to go to the opposite side by myself and at some point during class I was bored looking everywhere and I made eye contact with them and they panicked a little. I was so ??? their reaction come out of nowhere for me. When we finished they came up to me and asked me if I was upset with them, that they were sorry they couldn't save me a seat, I told them that it was fine, that I really didn't care that much but they told me that I looked upset and that it seemed that I wanted to absorb them the soul with the look. it was hilarious. my mind was just blank when we locked eyes and i was just deeply bored [The translator helped me here so..sorry for any mistakes or awkward wording]

I posted this above, and mentioned you: I think one reason INFPs can be intimidating is, our imaginations are constantly scanning all the possibilities at once: "If I were offended I would probably look like...this, if I were lying, I would probably look like...this, if I were jealous, I would probably look like...this, if I were secretly mocking, I would probably look like...this, if I were manipulating I would probably look like...this..." and I think people read these things on our faces and think we're really in those states. I have to be very careful when telling the truth about something (as indeed I try always to do!) not to suspect I'm suspected of lying because the person I'm talking to will read that on my face and...think I'm lying! Compare what I'm saying here to Dariana Joya's comment below. I understand exactly what happened there, and why her friends thought she was angry/upset even though she wasn't at all (and probably preferred sitting alone, as I certainly would have). I bet a lot of INFPs here can relate (can you?) to the frustration of other people being over-solicitous toward you, apologizing when there's no need, asking for the umpteenth time if you're okay, getting nervous and self-conscious as if you're mentally critiquing them, going ridiculously overboard to explain what's going on to you, at some event, when it's already ridiculously obvious what's going on.... And all the while the ONLY thing you want in the whole WORLD is to be...ignored and left alone! (By the way, bad news: as you get older and more seemingly "helpless" the over-soliticousness only ramps up exponentially.)

Chilling immovability is absolutely accurate for ISTP. If someone does something REALLY BAD, or REALLY pissed me tf off, it is incredibly easy for me to detach myself from them. I call it "going cold." And it doesn't matter if the person is a stranger or someone close. Yes, it is disturbing, but it is sometimes very necessary to have such a skill. Sometimes you have to just cut your losses and walk away. You can't always simply "forgive and forget", because that will enable bad things to continue happening.

Hey, I relate to this too much 😂 I always term it as “going with the flow” as in, you can put me in different situations and if I have the energy to, I’ll camouflage with everybody in the room. I know what they want me to become, I know how they want me to interact with them, and I know how to go along with whatever vibe they want. this is so accurate, sometimes I feel a little guilty because i honestly don't really care at all about other people and their feelings, but I know that if I act like I care and ask certain questions and play nice they'll leave me be, so I just pretend all the time especially with strangers or colleagues because I'm afraid of creating conflict or making people hate me. @@HaydenHero it's not like we can't bear people's judgment (at least once we mature emotionally, many of us grow up with a feeling that there is something wrong with us). The problem is that explaining doesn't help in most cases to achieve our goals and moreover often actually makes things worse. If people find me rude it can be harder to meet my goals in a long run (for example at work). Also I don't want people to spit in my coffee while I'm in the bathroom. She was looking at him really serious cause he was playing with her iPad without asking, I was so proud of her 😭. As an ENFJ, this is exactly the reason I am a therapist. I am frequently told by patients, "How do you know these things about me? How can you see so clearly what I am thinking and feeling when no one else does? How do you just 'get me'?" Curiousity, like Frank said. I never get bored or uninterested in hearing different individuals narratives, be it professional or personally. Yes, I am always viewing and analyzing every nuance of what I observe in verbal and non-verbal communication...like using a microscope (or telescope in some cases!)

@@erasumi9752 congratulations! ENFJ's and INFJ's are the most common types to become therapists. I taught part of the MBTI section in my career counseling courses. I put everyone's typology in a spread sheet. The entire class was NF's 17/18 except for one lone SF. Being a clinical mental health counselor is an amazing career! Especially, since we already are doing it naturally, right? It talkes 2.5-3.0 years after undergrad to get a masters to become a therapist (depending on what specific degree you want). It is a lot of education, but it is totally worth it! Each class I took I just ate up as much information as I could. Stay curious and keep doing what you naturally do and you will get there! ❤️

INFP here: Since birth I've been told I'm too deep and that my depth hurts people. It's made me keep my true self and strengths in the closet for too long and it really has worn on me. Now I've realized that if people can't handle me just being who I am because of the depth it's because they're too afraid to look at something that they really need to know, and I'm grateful to have unintentionally pointed that out to them. If they're too emotionally weak to accept me because they can't handle it they're not worth my time, so many wasted years on shallow people.

An old INFP knows, the way a young INFP doesn't, what "power" (a "power" the INFP would TRULY rather not have but discovers to his shock that he's stuck with) he possesses to intimidate. Indeed, it rather sneaks up on an INFP after nearly a lifetime of feeling like a nebbish, effete outsider, that, SUDDENLY, his whole circle is looking at him like something akin to a volcano...fascinating to view from a distance but you never EVER want to fall in. Once the INFP realizes that, he can manage it to his advantage in two ways: 1) master the "volcano" so that you are consciously and genuinely patient, accessible, extra-generous toward others and reserve the "volcano" quite consciously for only the most incontrovertible, inexcusable injustices, and never let it blow up on its own momentum (with those things you see in the offender and will name that nobody else has ever openly named), and, 2) he can, with a new unapologetic, assertive freedom, carve out the space he vitally needs for solitude, distance from EVERYBODY, knowing that it's good not only for him but for everybody else he's going to be far kinder and more productive with as a result. I've known pretty clearly since I got into all this in early 2021 that I was an INFP, even though many MANY times the things you say about INFJs make me go, "I dunno, that sounds an a-a-awwful lot like me!" But this video, out of all the videos of yours I've watched, confirms in spades that I'm an INFP.

This was really nice to read. Right now I'm in that phase where I'm realizing how intimidating I can be, and also trying to forcibly make some space between me and others. The two felt unrelated to me, but maybe being pushed to give myself space led to me realizing how intimidating I could be while I was enforcing my boundaries? I'll have to think about it for sure, but thank you again for writing this. It gives me affirmation and hope that I can be in a comfortable place socially. Much love, an INFP

As an INFP I honestly always thought how easy would it be to break a relationship with people whom you are friends, though I’ve never really tried doing any of that since I love them so much; there was only once when I actually did some major damage on a person, and everything just happened so suddenly I very much said the first thing that came to mind, though I don’t really know if I am even capable of doing this much damage again, I just never thought myself of someone who would destroy someone mentally, I always keep calm and try to give support to everyone afterall

As an INFP-A, or just me in general, I tend to always play out differently scenarios in my head. When I’m frustrated and angry, I hold back what I really want to say in-person but rehearse what I would say in my mind. Arguments scare me because I don’t know if I’ll win. Like multiple choice, I go through different responses I would’ve given and play out how the person I want to argue with respond. It usually ends to me “losing” because I wasted all that time thinking. I’m also very clumsy. In situations where I think something could go terribly wrong if I’m not careful, the worst case scenarios pop up in my head so I scare myself into being really careful that it doesn’t happen.

I told them to give me my space to explore, I’ve been your slave and choose wrong paths all my life, let me live or I’ll rather die than to become someone I’m not and land up in another wrong job and even if it’s correct career path, my depressed mind will be full of chaos and lack of passion, so nothing will work. I was raised by controlling, neglectful and a pure narcissistic mother whereas my father told me to suppress my emotions so I got scared of speaking up because whenever I did there were intense arguments and even I burst out violently making the situation worse. I was so afraid of being judged and all that. But I realised at 19 that I need to quit and make my own path. They interfered a lot but I overcame the challenges and did well until I turned 23, but again they started to shame me indirectly, make me feel clueless, SLOW or guilty for no reason. Like I owe them my life. I subconsciously succumbed because deep down I thought I’ve worked so hard for 4 years so I’ll please my parents asap. As a result I got anxious and made a huge wrong decision. It took me 4 months to get out of that huge mess and parents kept pushing me, rushing me and when I confronted how they hurt me, they only heard to reply me back with their arguments. I requested them to please give me some time and they pressured when when when (we are extremely wealthy people, they ain’t working anymore and enjoying their life so I felt it was VERY unfair to make me feel like we’re some beggars in desperate need of money). They never even acknowledged the fact I graduated and worked a job. I got so pissed with each passing time that I told them I’ll NOT BECOME ANYTHING NOW, kill me and get rid of me. Fuck career, I don’t care anymore. I lost my natural ambition, curiosity, charm, passion and energy to explore things.

Hi, enfp here. I really loved your video. I can imagine that there must have been like crazy amount of work and study behind it and I really admire that. Also, I loved your presentation, how you included humor, fluently added the following type, and the cat in the background... so thanks for good and quality content, it is really helpful for learning more about mbti types :) also your initials tunning with your type is the coolest thing ever ♥

Another good one for the infj. Our self-control (and others): the ability to not just control your own emotional responses for example when dealing with someone who is screaming at you. But also the ability to...uhhh lets call it steer that persons emotional responses as well. Simply by understanding their emotions and the cause of them. Its simply cause and effect. Situation A: * colleagues are scared of the screaming customer. I go to help them and without raising my voice by only saying 1 sentence the guy is quiet and actually very friendly. Shocking my coworkers. He wasn't aggressive but desperate for help and felt unheard so he screamed. Its logical people, who wouldn't.🙄 He is a big teddybear really. Just calmly proof to him you are listening and going to help him....bahm quiet and thankful. Problem solved. Situation B: The stoic Witcher looking dude. I'll have them talking about their mommy issues within a week without saying a word. Simply cause I am not fooled by the mask but see the boy that created the mask to begin with. When they realise you aren't intimidated by them nor judge them and the mask is pretty useless cause ya see past it anyways....off comes the mask. But all others are seeing is....stoic dude all if a sudden talking about his feelings. And they wonder what I did to make him do that. Nothing, he did it himself. Both situations freaked my co-workers out and they wondered how I did that. That can be quite intimidating. Especially cause the infj looks like a big old softy. Hihi people judge others based on superficial clues but can't see underneath. Which is why they can't spot the infj....that and we do camouflage.

I relate to the situation A too. Once we had to handle a patient me and my friends together (we're still students and some of them are older than me) and my friends with the doctor in charge of the case all hated that patient because to them she's so difficult. I don't really know how this happened but i think she just felt that i know how she feels and why she's frustrated, so she started laughing with me and even invited me to visit her at her home and looked at me for affirmation whenever the other doctors said something. My colleagues were shocked and kept asking me how this happened and how i do it. My simple answer was showing empathy (it doesn't have to be that obvious or dramatic but the other person just knows). I actually realise that we are capable of faking that empathy sometimes. -INFJ

INFP is very true. Thing is so far noone pushed me enough to actually make me say some of the things I observed. That ISFJ Analysis is scary accurate…As an ISFJ, group presentations are especially scary because of how unpredictable other’s work can be. Making a “system” (allocating work, suggesting how to structure the work) and people naturally following has been my recent ISFJ experience…but maybe ISFJs can be controlling in that way, to make things fit a predictable “system”

As an ENTP, I have two kinds of thoughts: #1: Because no one has yet been recorded time-traveling, paradoxes might not exist. With that in mind, in the absence of a paradox, it would be impossible to travel back in time because of the butterfly effect spreading out over time and altering your own future, therefore erasing the version of yourself that time traveled in the first place. The exception would be time loops, but we as the general public (in our present) do not know of any. #2: Balloons are such a weird tradition- like, "Happy birthday, here's a rubber sack of my breath!"

Aren't we all kind of time-traveling tho? The future becomes the present whilst the present becomes the past in every second of our lives.

Time travel can be easily answered by multiple realities theory, which not only kills paradoxes, but frankly trivializes time travel. Because if time is not linear, than it's just glorified dimension hopping.

how MBTI types in my life are intimidating ISTJ dad - has to make sure everything is organized in its place without anyone throwing it off ESFJ mom - gets really scary when stressed out but is also kinda scary when talking about how to get people to like you ESTP little sister - always going with the flow, always making fun of me, the occasional logic bomb which cuts into my heart and makes me bleed inside metaphorically ESTJ aunt - can act like a drill sergeant and has high expectations. i've been ultra scared of her until i got a job and she became super affectionate all of a sudden INTP friend - i say something that i think is logical and sounds smart and she tears it all down to shreds with her logic tangents ISTP friend - same as the INTP friend but they aren't tangents, she can sum it up in one cold sentence ENTP friend - she's good at everything and questions everything and can turn anything into a good joke ENFP friend - blunt with his morals. to be fair i am too but it can be scary coming from him. also he's so fun wacky and there's nothing he's afraid of exploring or talking about ISFJ and INFJ friend - occasional coldness that makes me do a double-take and then i linger on it for an hour wondering what i could have done to prevent that. dont make them give you an Fe OR Ti reality check edit: i'm doing some self-reflection and _sometimes_ people find me intimidating when i bluntly express my morals. which is a good thing because that might be what it takes to get people to change their approach. but i'm pretty sure 90% of the time people see me as meek or cute or quiet or childlike which is the opposite of intimidating. i'm an INFP if you can't tell

My dude has the whole MBTI in their life lmao, you out here collecting them like Pokemons. As an ISTJ myself, I can say I have actually been criticised for being physically "disorganised" weirdly, but foil one of our plans/systems, spring surprises on us or stand between us and perfection and yeah we can get mad as FJ says. Seriously, I got so mad I almost didnt go to a meetup with my friends when they told me on the day of the meetup there are actually like 5 more people coming than I expected. Also we have values and can be pretty blunt too

@@edi0157 yeah that sounds my dad. i wouldn't call him physically disorganized but he sure gets angry when things go wrong. i've gotten used to it so it's not even that intimidating anymore. i really like ISTJs despite this their Te focused productivity is so admirable and their Fi tangents are adorable

@@CamzCritiques by that I meant stuff like my mom scolding me for sometimes leaving my notebooks and textbooks on the desk instead of neatly filing them, having things in the "wrong place" so I can see them and not forget about them, not cleaning my room, stuff like that (19 year old here). Productivity I have kind of been struggling with lately as I am in a really self-doubting phase, also I am a bit lazy so I am always looking for the most efficient path. I bet listening to people passionately speaking about what matters to them is really cool. Thanks for liking us

As an INTP, I’d say the most intimidating thing is INTPs ability to analyze and pick apart things. It’s fine between fellow intps since we like to debate but most people end up freaked out, highly concerned or breaking down if you do this to them.

As an INFJ this was on point. :_) I "know" people and I act and follow on logical behaviour patterns. The "fun" part is when I have to call out certain professionals when I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist myself, or even a social worker or a teacher (yes, I have to be in contact with those professions for... reasons, and it's utterly disappointing how they cannot read people and see intentions T-T).

INFJ here... I've always wondered why humans are the way they are. Human behaviour is an interesting thing to study cuz this world has a lot of variety and in turn comes a, lot of personalities. I may have a pessimistic view of humanity as a whole but I know many different types of people throughout these past 18 years of my life... Its pretty interesting once you get to know a person, how they think and all that. This is why I love psychology and want to be a therapist. I just want to understand people better I know pretty well how people close yo me think lol and I'm proud that I can discern the things I know about them. Patience is key to understanding the human mind.

@4 Hour Sounds There is a discussion in the internet whether FJ is really an INFJ. His friends/family members and FJ himself believe he is an INFJ. Many people see him as ISTJ or INFP. But it is difficult to type someone on the internet because we do not know him personally. I am an INFJ as well and I know about own tendency to not let people see our real "self". Some of my acquaintances still believe that I am an extravert. So I assume he is an INFJ.
