What's wrong with this Illinois Bunn Special pocket watch? Fault-finding in a mechanical watch

Here I show, step-by-step, how I find faults while disassembling a watch movement. The subject of the video is a beautiful Illinois railroad-grade pocket watch. In particular I focus on the interaction between the pallet fork and balance wheel, and look for potential faults in the geartrain.

I have inherited a Illinois Bunn Special that has 23 Jewels, it was a retirement gift for my great great Uncle…. It is a beautiful pocket watch

Excellent narration! Really appreciate your detailed commentary (e.g. lifting the hands straight up from ceramic dials - never heard this before but it makes sense). Also, explaining certain terms (e.g. end shake and side shake - hear it a lot but no clue what it meant)!! So THANK YOU!!

Thanks! My favourite thing about American watches is that they were both mass-produced (with interchangeable parts) AND high quality.👌
