I've always learned to install the pallet fork & bridge last so you can see the train wheels turn freely while installing the train bridge. It makes it a lot easier & safer.

Yes you are correct, it is the better way to do it. However, I formed some bad habits over the years and this is the way I do it. Not right, just used to it.

Maybe synthetic oils? 21st century! They last without gumming up. I'd vote for far less on those cap jewels. Beautiful movement for sure.

Thank you very much, I do agree it is a beautiful movement! I absolutely love the fishscale and cross hatched movements. Even with the advancement of oils, we still have to compete with the fact they are not dust proof and that can quickly add to "gumming" up on these....

It is impossible to tell you what the watch is worth without knowing anything about it 16s 18s etc, condition, dial, what movement it is ie model, case and if it works or not.
