It really truly hurts to love a Narcissist and not understand what is wrong and find out 10 yrs later what narc abuse is. I Cant explain how crushed, devastated and destroyed by the revelation that they truly cannot love you, have no empathy for anyone, not capable of being real or genuine, won't stop lying and faking etc. This is Literal Hell on earth to realize and deal with the truth of Narc Abuse and all that comes after no contact and the grief is painful, very painful. not to mention the loss, loss of friends, family, resources, the blame game smear campaign, flying monkeys who believe the covert victim Narc.

Yah, my friends don’t like me. They told her things that were negative about me. So narcissistic so wrong. After 8mo I have gone no contact. She hovered me by honking her horn while pulling up behind me. I showed no interest even when she passed me, I looked straight ahead. No flipping her off. Zero reaction! Exactly what my sister said in our first-last session of therapy "Maybe I don't know how to love." I never thought that I would view her as a LOSER. However, I do. Her behavior cost her one of the best allies she could have ever had. Her loss.

It seems like my toxic family thinks that I think I’m better then them (😂). And they want me to think I’m crazy and weird, no one likes me etc to see if they can convince me. But I have supportive people, a therapist and this community plus info on this. I walked away. I’m free!!!!

Everything they say is manipulative to get you feel or behave in a certain mannor. Once you see you can't unsee and all that was ever said by them makes sense now.

Brother, you must have been that FLY ON THE WALL in my marriage with a Malicious and Very Narcissistic woman, who I was so blinded of. Oh My God! Now 2 years after her divorce she remains as a Monster who never shows any remorse, and sympathy or regrets on how she did me. Yeah, I heard all of the advice that I had to find a way to forgive her. Now we are total enemies. Healing has been slowed due to my mother’s passing from dementia. It’s been so hard. Yeah, I learned that God was there all of the time and that He saw everything done. And I’ve tried to give all of the abuses that I suffered to God. Thank you for being here Sir.

How can one ever thank the education, the brave ones who came forward to teach it, to share what they have learned and been through too, to listen to all the voices and read all messages of those who struggle to make it through, we say thank you, 🙏

Feel sorry for all those who goes through different stages of narcs, but it is a needed skill to learn, especially for us emoaths and “people pleasers”.

I was with my ex for almost 20 years who eventually had me 350 miles away from my family and friends, he had hold of all the finances and I was a lonely housewife/ mum in the middle of nowhere unable to get out of the village as I had no transport of my own. It's insideous how the relationship went from ( what I thought) equal levels...to him controlling everything. As they say a frog on a slow boil never sees what is happening!! I'm away now, living MY LIFE and learned so much from my experiences but at that time never knew what narcissism truly was.

Whenever confronted, the Narc would say: "I didn't do anything wrong!" That was exclaimed so many times, I gave up. It stumped me and I was always speechless. Needless to say, it ended any attempts at communicating. Many youtubevideos later, over and over, when the cops arrested a perp, they'd say the same thing:"I didn't do anything!!" Then, it always reminds me of the ex-Narc "perp." To be honest, I can grin about it now. 😏There's a mental stonewall blocking them from facing the world of responsibility.

They work really hard at being ingenuine.

The mirroring is insane. I remember clearly him coming out with "I really want to get to know you better", faking empathy, at a really awkward moment and the penny dropped - he was copying exactly what I'd said to him a few weeks before! It was like he remembered my words, thought they might come in handy and used them like a script. It's ready creepy once you realise how empty and robotic they are. Their mask is a mishmash of other people's character traits. What they really are, is very sinister indeed.

And now it's used to be in my life is done it's time for me to run for the hills it's time to walk away I just don't want to deal with no more drama or toxic in my life ever hear it I run and I walk away thank you Andrew

Today was day 17 of separation from the narc I was (still for now married to until the divorce). Nearly 27 years of abuse before I could break free. This post of yours, Andrew, is spot on target. They are so fake and abusive. Thank God I am nearly free.

He asked me what I’d do if either of my parents died I was “what?” Then when the discard came I said “let’s be fair here - you’d like it if my parents passed away… he then said I’d gone too far… far out. Really? Crazy mentalist is what I thought. They twist the living daylights out of everything just to blame you. Stay away from these twisted people!

We were married with 4 young children and he wanted to move us 1/2 across the country. Thankful that didnt happen!

My narc never told me he loved me - ever. When the trauma bond was being formed, one morning I was cuddling him and a giddy 25 yo. He pushed me away and said “you’re not falling in love with me, are you?” Dagger to the heart. But I continued! At 25 yrs of marriage (what was wrong with me??!!)) he told me that to say those words during sex was “trite”. I didn’t know anything about narcissism but I told him I’m not your girlfriend, I’m not a one night stand and I’m not your mother

It's not the "I love you" it's their "I love you very very much!" Vomitous overkill, in my case anyway. That was just a friendship, I should have told her I wasn't desperate but it played out with my delete and block which was satisfying for peace of mind. If the person doesn't acknowledge your friendship in a realistic respectful way don't feed me overemphasised words.

I kept trying to make it work for years after I figured out she was HPD. Wasted so much time interpreting her words, always a puzzle with hidden bits o f truth. After 4 years of no contact i let a call slip through, now I’m back here eating the vids and reading the articles all over ver again. Do not break NC, trust me on that Btw Andrews vids are top notch, Thanks

lol you’ll be stuck in our house wondering where I am…yep! Years of my life spent that way. We had young children - or I did anyway lol - so I had zero freedom, while he had it all. Absolutely, they will string you along, promising you everything they know you want and need from them, and each and every time they will take what you have to give and give you absolutely nothing in return - nothing they promised. You will feel so foolish for constantly falling for the okidoke. They do not have your best interest at heart. They only take. They isolate you. Then they mistreat you and take more. They lie lie lie. It takes a long time to heal from all this.

If you get into a narcissistic relationship, you end up in hell on earth. And the narcissist is the devil you are dancing with.

She would brag that she had a lot of friends, so I said" no you don't,i never hear you talking to anyone and nobody ever comes by to see you". I guess that makes me a narcissist. But she would always be bragging and lying about everything, I could only take so much before I called her out and said that. It is what it is I guess.

I was discarded on my birthday after I started pushing back and calling out egregiously bad behavior. I can never forget being in the lake, practicing my swimming as an adult learning to swim. I was getting tired and wanted to go back to the dock. He kept pulling me back out to deeper water and I started to panic. He leaned in and told me no one had ever loved me before or would ever love me again.

That is the month (2022 ) that I left my narcissist ex boyfriend… He had me sleeping upstairs for about a month as some kind of punishment!! All the while he was chatting with three different women downstairs online!💯I stood by his side after his wife passed from cancer.😢The last night we got into an argument. He cussed me like a dog. I went upstairs to clean & read my book. I came back down & cussed me out a second time. I stated, “I am not a perfect person but I won’t be talked to like that, I am leaving. “ He told me to leave my keys, which I did and he left to go drink downtown.💯I moved out that night. Now, he is with one of the three ladies he was chatting up.

I was an exploding door mat. I’m the problem never doing anything right. I’m done trying to please the never satisfied, evil soul sucking, ex g/f narc.

Super triggering…just curious, are these actions pre meditated? My ex seemed very self-aware ie going to therapy and realizing she had issues she needed to work on. This is what keeps me stuck in having empathy for her. I’ve seen her cry many times saying she wants to change (not specific to narcissism) and I seem to fall for it. Does she really want to or this also manipulation strategies?

Mine used to tell me when he was walking out the door slamming it behind him during multiple(100's) discards over 5 years. He would say that's why yo momma won't even fuck with you. That hurt. I had told him about being emancipated at 16 and about the rough relationship my mother and i had my entire life. I'm 50 now. He always tried to hurry me with truths i had told him about. Well, God said no homeboy! Let me show you something. So i was diagnosed with 2 ulcers, then stomach cancer in the spring. I am much better after getting some chemo but i was hospitalized twice this summer due to not getting chemo yet, my mother came to the hospital to help me and even started to go to my house and clean up with my 2 boys for 4 and 5 hours. They would eat or she would bring them meals and never in my life had my mother been in my actual personal life or home or any of my children's life. I'm 50. I have a33 yr old, a 15 and and 8 year old boys. God touched my mother to the point where she would beat him to the emergency room at the cancer center when i was rushed there. He would come to the hospital to find my mother already there bringing me a packed bag with everything i would need for a woman's hospitall stay. He actually left me meaning discarded me one night he brought my boys to visit me. At midnight! He got mad at nothing, threw my truck keys at me and got a ride home. He left the kids on me! I got them home at 2 in the morning, thank God and he was at our house just chilling in our bedroom like nothing wrong. My boys walked in and he was so surprised he grabbed a bag and ran out the door. When i got discharged and drove myself home, i packed him up and out! I used this discard as my O U T!! Now that was a month ago. I'm struggling discussion of course because he drained me this year and when i needed him the most he bailed. Thank you God. I'm getting my treatments, feeling much better these days. Had to rush myself back to work 2 days ago but you know what? I feel so much better. My children are at peace again in our home. I decided whoever i owe will just have to wait or cut it off, i will be able to pay all my bills come August and we will be just fine. He wanted my truck. He did all that over my truck. That night at the hospital i had a feeling he was drunk driving, so i told him bring my boys up to see me. I didn't need to see my children. I needed my truck back. He was too happy i was laid up in the hospital and he was driving my truck doing whatever he wanted. Acting like he was home and work taking care of"the boys". That fool was doing the bar minimum with my kids. I'm not stupid. He won't even go get his license. He's 50. So u said all that to say. I love you Andrew. I love you new friends. God is good. Put him first. You can trust God. Then focus on self love. Focus on your children. Your family. Keep going. I know it's hard but you will get through. I'm on my journey and with all of your help, you have saved a wonderful little family! Im to silly and carefree of a person to be with such a mean person. I'm ready to live laugh and love again. Enjoy my life again. And i still have more love in my heart to give! That's the best part. God let's you keep the love. And that's the good stuff.
