Hard to deal with kids while the marriage is failing.

The thing is your children may choose one of the parents to spend time with but that parent is constantly tell them no. It’s the most hurtful thing to see kids get hurt from a selfish parent.

We separated a year ago. We've had up and downs co parenting. Sometimes it felt we were coming back together. Even the kids saw it and they were happy. Come to find out she's seeing someone else. She's not a bad person. She's just lost.

I got my daughter's their own phone so that they could communicate with their dad as often and freely as they want. I want my calls and threads with him to be about us and for the lines of communication to be clear. He also moved about 10 minutes away which is reassuring to them. We presented this separation to them in a positive light, focusing on Dad's need to take care of himself right now.

She doesn't know if she wants a divorce or to reconcile. But she wants to be single, and flirts with everyone at her job. I've been talking and seeing women too just to get my mind off the fact that she said she doesn't feel the same way anymore but still loves me. I trying to be a better father and person. I am going through separation, because my wife don't appreciate my efforts, don't spend time with me and the children. She use me and the children for her and her family personal gain, which is really traumatizing me and the kids. And I am very very really frustrated right now and very very angry. My wife is a vulnerable narcissist because of her mother who was also one. Our marriage has suffered due to those tendencies she had of constant affirmation needs and if she didn't get them, she tried to threaten me to get her way. She wonders why our marriage went south after pushing me away after constant threats. I tried to tell her what she needed to fix but everything was my fault not her's. Every discussion/argument was always a circular criticism session with the blame always coming back to me. Now she wants a divorce and my daughter is a huge Daddy's Girl and is not liking this one bit. I am trying but it seems impossible because my wife tends to listen to her morally compromised friend and divorced three times brother. Kind of like if you want to know how to rob a bank talk to a bank robber. If you want to save your marriage talk to a person that has been married for a very long time. My daughter is 10 and I pray she doesn't suffer long term due to this if the divorce goes all the way through.

it is so difficult being seperated and not getting any child support from your spouse, he has no time to see the child or pay any money for the child and going to court is also a mission cause they are unable to track him down or get him to appear in court for mediation/agreement on how much he needs to pay every month

Where do we find the science on how separation affects kids? I ask because the men of the family want to talk to my husband about his choice to be separated. I didn't ask them to. I can respect his desire for space. But they are praying about how to talk to him and if they feel they can get to him on the issue, they'd like to have information that will back up what they are saying. I just want to point them in direction. I don't think I've told my husband that separation can hurt the kids.

If you separate while married with children, you're a bad person. It's selfish, it's destructive, and just wrong. Be adults and work it out. Your kids won't be there for you when older, because you weren't there for them when they were younger. Work it out. Don't be a trash person.
