I’ve never had harina, but I’ve had lots of frijoles y huevo frito from my mom. XD My maternal grandmother would make sopa de fideos... I used to hate it... but she’s been gone for so long, that I miss so much, that I would gladly eat her sopa de fideos everyday if I could have her back..

I'm an interpreter. I lived in Mexico for 8 years and my husband is Mexican; therefore, this is the dialect I am used to hearing and speaking. I love your videos (apart from them being hilarious) because I get to learn new Cuban phrases, words, words that are used in different ways, and cultural elements such as food and beliefs. As an interpreter this really comes in handy due to my limited familiarity of Cuban and Caribbean culture. But I also see a lot of similarities between Cubans and Mexicans, like not walking on the floor descalzo and using itty, bitty bits of soap until it literally disappears - I feel ya Laritza!

Although Im a filipino, I realised that there are pretty starking similarity between the Spanish and us. Spanish people are indifferent to filipinos. They have influenced our religion, values, culture and languages, and we've adopted Spanish surnames too, like mine- Padilla. Great video! It reminds me of my abuela Yolanda :(

They're latinos though (Latin Americans), but they're as much as influenced by the Spanish as Filipinos and Filipinos have been influenced by Latin America during the colonial years (being part of the Viceroyalty of New Spain, aka Mexico, and the Manila-Acapulco Galleon), although not many realize this
