Played it on the PC a million years ago after hearing that it was the scariest shit on earth. Wound up just giving up once I got to the second building mostly because it was so freaking annoying dealing with the Janitor. I never found a foolproof way to dodge him that wasn't just getting lucky. The guy wasn't really scary, just obnoxious because you just endlessly had to repeat huge portions of the game.

It appears that I will keep to the Fatal Frame series and Siren for horror. Played the FPS version of Crimson Butterfly about 16 years ago, and it remains a favorite overall.

Basically thought the same thing. I love the atmosphere lore etc but saw how frustrating it was and skipped a buy preferring a watch

I'm watching the review as the games in sale on PSN for only £9, as a big fan of horror I'm in the mood for a good scare, but wanted to see if its worth the money before buying?👍

I don't know if you guys have experienced this but sometimes when you go into a certain area it is late on loading up so you were see this black void before going back to normal it's only in hell mod I have no idea why

Wait a min, Why do you have the pal copy?

First blind playthrough on Normal took me roughly 8 hours. First Hard playthrough with collecting ALL ghost stories and ghost encounters took about 6 hours. Subsequent playthroughs on Hard take me roughly 2 1/2 hours. The only parts of the game I needed to look up were the infamous chalkboard puzzle in Main Building 2 and the Morse code puzzle for one of the ghost stories.

I'm also a fan of horror and I've been keeping my eyes on White Day for a while but if there's one thing that pushes me away is an excessive amount of frustration. By the way, I know the game let you down in some aspects but did you at least enjoy the story?

I admit, you make the android version sound much better. In it you can save on normal without the pens. Idk if it's a glitch but I'm glad. But I haven't finished it cause I'm stuck on a puzzle. I'm loving the ghost stories and want to find more of them along with the story but yeah I'm so confused. I was thinking of getting the ps4 version as I thought it was the definitive one but damn, you don't even get to see Janitor detection eye in this one? Hmm...

Well whatever but, I don't play horror games coz I can't sleep properly then, and I didn't even play the old version of white day, but this new version, this game made me so curious that even if I was freaked the hell out, still I loved to play and I finished in all difficulties, and seriously, I fell in love with the game, but that's because I never played the original one, may be I will not like this one if I play the original, but I can say it's not a bad one for new players, it's totally awesome

The jumpscares arent random they are an invisible enemy that looks kinda like a shadow in light, when you hear the scratching noises look for her and avoid her (at least thats how she worked in the original)

It's worth it for sure , I fricken love this game. There's something about the gameplay that feels so satisfying to play. Every little action feels amazing.

I have gone this play through for every ending. Its alot. But i dont agree with the janitors. The first one is easy, but the second one is annoying and has some other wordly nose to smell you from anywhere almost. But w playing many times teached me that janitors are way more stypid than you think. Literally crouching behind a chair is enough as long as they dont see you doing it and you stay on the other side of it w them. When you understand how to hide affectively. Im not great at horror survival. Im a hacknslash gamer and i get easily frustrated. But white day is not that hard as soon as you understand how to play it. It took me forever on first run, second almost same, but then it got easier w the janitors

you can beat this game in 47 minute

uh dear race is such an irrelevant theme for us in Europe that honestly I did not think about "white day" in that sense at all... it's disorientating how different EU and the USA are sometimes... but yep I get it, in the US you declare your race on your ID after all.

Sorry Tarks. As much as I enjoy your channel and your reviews, I absolutely loathe horror games. Horror movies don't do anything for me, as in they don't scare me - Now, horror games... give me the creeps. I tend to get too focused when playing video games, so every stupid sound and jump scare gets me. I played about 45 minutes of Outlast and in the process I must have aged 20 years. It also didn't help my receding hairline. The last jump scare I suffered in Outlast had my controller flying across the living room and was accompanied by a series of unrepeatable epithets. In other words, FUCK horror games.
