I did enjoy that they could team up with this thing Especially when it mentioned others from fallen worlds taking refuge while plotting to destroy the enemy I wonder how many other alien refugees on the resistance planet there is and if they come in many shapes and sizes

That sphere is literally the Gravital race in All Tommorrows novel, exactly the same, removed their biological bodies and transfered it to a spherical machine that can float and manipulate things.

I've fan-named the sphere Spherea. I still wish after 5 years of this movie that there will b a 3rd, to show the refugee planet and all the Harvester's victims. To explore more of Independence Dayverse. They say it won't happen but i wish for it.

Knowing us humans we would learn the weapons and technology then become the new species invading planets. The sphere thing did say it wanted to put us in charge of everything and lead the other aliens from across the universe

There’s something wrong about that scene. Number one, judging the fact the Harvesters extract molten cores to refuel their ships and grow their technology, how does iron and nickel fuel their machinery? Why not use hydrogen from Gas Giants or stars to fuel their ships much easier than harvesting anything else? And why not mine asteroids or comets to gather resources for their species instead of destroying inhabitable worlds? Number two, so the Sphere’s species is wiped out from extinction by a hostile race with less primitive technology than her’s, and yet there’s a refugee planet where alien civilizations from fallen worlds could build the same exact weapons she struggled to destroy the Harvester fleet.

This was probably the only thing I liked about the sequel and probably the only reason why I’d want a third movie.

This would potentially open up a universal alliance with other species to fight a common enemy like in other sci-fi movies or shows plus games; if a sequel is made or when it will be released...

When she said that thing about 🌍🌎🌏 attacking her. I kinda wish someone said "sorry we thought u were them"

This was a seriously clever plot device. It was just too bad the absence of non-returning characters, the meh performance of new characters, and poor taste in writing everything else is what hurt this sequel.

I love World-Building. I love it in every Sci-Fi that has rich Lore. Jurassic Park, Godzilla, & Star Wars. And I can't deny that I like this World's new Lore. The first Film had its Alien Invasion and only showed us one Alien Spieces that visited Earth, and now we have new Alien Species in the Franchise. It's a shame we're never gonna see that now, since Disney owns 20th Century Fox. Lol

I want to know who would be the first person to speak to aliens would be if said aliens learned English or had Universal Translators. The president? Priests? Soldiers? A random guy that discovered them years ago but nobody believed him?

wtf they ripped off Destiny for this one. As a player, I did feel an odd sense of protection towards this giant space-ball, but its so weird to see it in this movie.

The Sphere and it's people lost their war with the Harvesters. The Sphere had alien robot tech writen all over it.

This is cool because out all other species they attacked, humans stood a chance and pulled a dub.

I thought the actor that played data in Star Trek the Next Generation I thought his character died in Independence Day part 1 at the End

In the first movie they already established that the entire alien civilization existed on their mothership, which was destroyed. So this whole movie makes no sense.

Independence Day could have been a TV series similar to Stargate. Shame they went this route, wasted.

So I'm pretty sure they defeated that queen but I think harvesters will still comeback like the orb said it had many queens . And they fought them for thousand of years I'm pretty sure they fought more than 2 harverster maybe 40 to 50.

Honestly, if I was the queen, I wouldn't of sent one solitary ship to the planet, especially seeing how they defeated the other mother ship. I would of honestly sent an entire fleet of ships far greater than the last, while positioning the main queen ship on the moon, and using that as a base, while the fleet are positioned in key points around the planet.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the title of this video? It's completely ridiculous to match the ridiculousness of this movie lol.

Commander Shepard be like "DID SOMEONE SAY HARVEST? DON'T WORRY, I GOT THIS."

The giant pokeball if made by apple was pretty cool. As was the "aliens" having true fear for essentially the most advanced thing in the world, knowing it threatened to stop them as long as one could literally do anything. And the whole refugee planet thing was a great way to keep things going. Also we saw both a queen and ground battles in this film, which was set up (the ground battles/actually fighting outside ships) and was pretty cool. The idea they are just harvesting and taking and that they get to be truly monstrous without any sympathy bs was also a better direction given what most modern stuff likes to do. The "disaster film" part also really was not a huge focus of the film. Yes that part occured. However in the original it is purposely ongoing, done in longer length and drives the plot too. In this movie it's shown, it's fun, and the film pretty much moves on. The ship leaves in the end, Whitmore does the hard job to save the world 20 years later. The hate for this movie is just beyond belief. Even David Levinson's father had a fun side role, and Jeff Goldblum's "DLevinson" character's intelligence is on full display and if anything, makes more sense in this film than the original (including being pointed out how he wouldn't take the drawing situation seriously as a flaw, but saying not to shoot at the alien giant ball ship without taking a moment too, even if anyone can get why that'd be a gray area).

I wonder if one of those civilizations that are on the refugee planet are the last known species of Krypton period that might actually make an interesting sequel to Justice League for all the countless civilizations that Darkseid has destroyed are on a hidden Refugee planet where their other beings are teaching the refugees to design weapons thanks to their Ally the high father as well as Orion and they're teaching these civilizations to build weapons that are capable of killing parademons and one major weapon that could easily destroy Darkseid before he makes his final move on Earth

I ah, wow, the way they are delivering their lines....

A sequel that never needed to be made, and it's clear when watching it why. Independence Day did not need lore.

I'm sure this scene was inspired by the 1950's movie where a moon mission discovers a buried sphere that turns out to be a tiny craft with jellyfish-like alien scientists escaping persecution. They start to share their knowledge with humans before a larger craft comes and the sphere commits suicide rather than be captured. Does anyone remember the title?

Right, every time I need some molten nickel and iron to power my spaceship I don't bother rounding up asteroids and heating them. No, I go to a planet with a high tech civilization who will fight me for thousands of years and try to steal the core. I'd hate to be around when one of these alien queens decides she wants to do something the hard way.
