Who was behind the Ghostface mask for every kill, attack, and phone call? How did they plan and organize their diabolical scheme? Did they really know that the legacy characters would return to Woodsboro? Was there a third killer involved? Would they have actually been successful in framing Sam and getting away with murder. ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED in this video, as we do an in depth break down of Amber and Richie's Ghostface killer plot, to get the best understanding of everything that we didn't see on screen in Scream 5.

To anyone coming to shut me down (7 months later) with the "killer wipes their knife" argument, I don't think you understand that blood is WAY TOO THICK to simply clean off like that. That's why you always see the bloody streaks on the knife afterwards when they do.

Forget the killer wiping the knife, the knife wiping scenes from every film make it clear that you're right about it. In this breakdown you missed one obvious possible way that Richie could be at the first attack even though you touched on it. Richie likes to tamper with things, as you said he could have tampered with the anti-psychotics. But you seem to have failed to consider that in tampering with the meds he could have switched them to sleeping pills. This would explain the uneasy look that Sam gives Richie while at Dewey's. She doesn't deny the alibi because she fell asleep while he was still there and when she woke up he would still be there having apparantly never left the house but she is uneasy about it because she fell asleep early enough and for long enough for it to be possible for him to have made the round trip.

@Gaven Tovar Gotcha. I've only recently gotten into these movies (though I have watched the first four once before) and 5 and 6 have really made me start falling in love with them. Even to the point that I have ideas for stories that could be told with this universe. Including a probably stupid idea for how to rework Stu back into the series in a way that doesn't feel redundant. Like I don't think it's a good idea, but I think it could be a fun idea. I'm still a bit confused on whether his death was explicitly confirmed by anyone.
@Gibbypastrami
@Gibbypastrami Жыл бұрын
Is it ever confirmed that Tara was left alive accidentally? Like, we’re they trying to create a twist where the Casey role instead is a killer like they try and spin at the end? Or was that a course correction? Could Richies initial plan to have been to frame Stu’s Nephew and Billy’s daughter? Then Tara lives and it changes into a sister killer duo, so Stu’s nephew gets cut from the latter half of the “script”? I never really thought about it from an angle like that, I think it’s more likely Tara lived accidentally, since Amber has been shown to be ineffective at killing Chad, although she did get Dewey right… I haven’t seen S6 yet, I hope in S7 Stu comes back, revealed to have been put in prison, not dead, do we know his parents profession? Maybe he got off easyish, served a couple decades, helps get Richie and Amber and other followers together in chat rooms, then in 7 comes out and does the killing himself I wish Dewey had lived, Gale had been killed by Amber, and Dewey gets killed by Stu I still really enjoyed S5 tho, can’t wait to see 6 and 7 eventually

After rewatching 5cream and coming here to rewatch this video, something else hit me about Richie's "I've never watched a Stab" cover: he's at the hospital watching Stab 1 "for the first time", and like you said, he hasn't gotten too far. Cue Sam's attack, then Sam's confession to Tara, then she and Richie decide to go see Dewey. And then 2 things happen: 1. They go inside his trailer and Richie comments "Gale Weathers. Didn't you two..." which is weird, as someone who's not a Stab fan, or doesn't know anything about the real life Woodsboro murders, would most likely not know about Gale and Dewey (Gale is not an A-list celebrity, and Dewey is just some dude). 2. Dewey kicks them out of his trailer and Richie says "He's more fun in the movies". Movies, plural. Which... he has supposedly never watched? He hasn't even finished watching the first one! If he only got as far as the Casey Becker scene, he' s never even seen movie Dewey. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I truly think these were very, very subtle clues.

The gun/knife timeline is a bit wacky towards the end, but that was definitely Dewey’s gun. The officers gun is never seen again though, and the gun Richie uses is Sidney’s. Gale’s gun also disappears, and so does ambers knife after she goes to search for Tara (which was originally Richie’s knife he used to stab Sam before handing it to her. I believe Amber's motive for wanting to kill Tara and everybody else is coming from a place of resentment. I know during the casting process Amber was referred to as Tara's girlfriend/ love interest. But seems during filming/editing/ or post they strayed away from this and could of possibly just made this more silently implied. Amber is in love with Tara on a psychotically obsessed level, and because she can't have her (and being psychotically insane) she decides that Tara will be the first victim.
@Probablyender
@Probablyender Жыл бұрын
adding on to that, amber obviously wanted to leave tara alive, if she didnt, she wouldnt have let her be hospitalized and would have rather gutted her or done something more fatal than a stab to the side. what if she wanted to leave tara alive so that when stab 9 released, Tara would have been a huge celebrity and would have gotten a ton of fame. @@victorrocha5755 I will not diss your opinion that's yours 100%, but I do disagree and let me explain: Yes there are parts of this film that are not put together well and yes this isn't the best sequel and will never ever top the original, nobody can top the genius of Craven and Williamson; but this film is still a great film. First off the characters while not fully developed are still interesting and have a sense of charm to them, a perfect example of being Chad Meeks, who could've been nothing but a dumb jock is actually one of the more likable characters in the film and I can't wait to see his character progress in scream 6. Second the kills are brutal and creative (even though they are only knife kills). Third, even though the killers came off as obvious, the motives were actually pretty good and actually fit today's toxic fandom, so if ppl didn't like the motives then that's ironic because they intentionally did that in the film, to show how toxic fandom can be when pushed to far. Then there's the legacy characters (Dewey, Gale, and Sidney) who were used appropriately in here; Dewey being a Central guide/helper being axed off facing off a ghostface; Gale reuniting with Dewey only to lose him right after; Sidney showing up to face off the killer and helping the new main protagonist and having a perfect send off to her story. Sure this film has problems but you can't deny that these new directors tried to revive this franchise in a new light and honor Wes Craven who would've loved this film, plus Kevin Williamson (The Original Writer) Loved this film. So as much as I respect your opinion, I have to Disagree big time.

I've noticed that I've never seen anyone else notice this, but after Dewey shoots Amber three times and attempts to help Richie get up, look at richies face, he has an obvious look of concern and almost blatant worry thinking that the person in the costume really might have just been killed, it's actually so obvious that you almost physically see him have to shake the look off of his face, and then when Richie looks behind him as him and Dewey are walking away you see it again. He's totally upset thinking that Amber may have just been killed

Vince's kill is one of my all time favourite kills. I absolutely love when a movie cuts its music only to pick it back up when the action kicks in. The audio/sound design and cinematography of this movie was amazing but it peaked in that scene. Overall I love the look and feel of these new Scream movies I really wish we got some anthology films though maybe with subtitles instead of numbersm where they're all different Ghostface killers and all different groups of friends. All completely unrelated to each other and the legacy story line. I just want a random copy cat killer.

How I knew Richie was one of the killers: In the car ride from the hospital when Tara realises her inhaler is missing, she says she has a spare one at Amber's. Richie says no he doesn't wanna go there to which Tara replies she'll "be in and out." Richie only gives in when Sam chastises him saying "she needs it." Richie gives in and says okay "give me the goddamn address," and they go. When they turn up, they see the party happening and all three of them decide to go in. Richie is like "if you think im staying in the car by myself to get murdered, you're crazy." They go in the party and Richie kicks everybody out. Richie didn't want to go to Amber's in the first place. Tara said she would be in and out, so you would assume Richie would be like "get the inhaler and then let's get out of here!" But... he starts wandering around asking Mindy where the beer is!? Why would he want to be drinking beer? He wasn't planning on staying and partying/drinking! They were supposed to be "in and out" and now Richie wants some beer? Was he planning on taking the beer with him to drink in the car!? Now, I get that Mindy didn't know any of this but we, as in the audience sure did. So he was clearly luring her into the basement to kill her. But when he "returns" from the basement with the beer and drops a bunch of it when he sees Mindy has been stabbed why weren't Sam and Tara like "What are you getting beer for!? The party is over and we're supposed to be getting out of here!?" That's when I knew Richie was one of the killers. Also, accusing Tara of being a killer? She spent the majority of the film in the hospital with major stab wounds! How the hell would she be the killer? What kind of killer gets themself stabbed and sidelined for the entire film? Lol. Seriously, Richie's actions at the end of the film are beyond stupid.

Him not helping Dewey in the hospital and just watching gave it away for me. But yeah him just switching to party mode when they arrived at the house was odd, weird that Sam doesn't commented on it either and just goes along with it. They could have had a quick dialogue like: Sam: I thought you wanted us to leave straight away? Ritchie: There's so many people here, maybe we're safer in numbers and my nerves could do with a drink Something along those lines...

I always have said that the extreme aggression and height difference of Ghostface to those who it actually is, comes down to how fear magnetizes things. I personally have been on board for all the killers male or female. And I almost would rather see Scream 6 have either two female killers, or something that's never been done before have one of the killers get away with it and maybe in Scream 7 their identity revealed.

Like Zack said these 2 killers have different kill strategies which is how he predicted who killed who. Amber seems to be a bit clumsy and gives attention to herself from her voice and she prefers multiple stabs into someone before they die. While Richie prefers to be more stealthy and patient since he lures his victims by using ominous noises to get there attention and then appears behind them and kills them by going for the throat in one quick swoosh. It's interesting how the killers like to kill differently cuz like I said amber likes to do collateral damage especially since she killed Judy by luring her to her house in an open neighborhood where people could have easily seen the crime take place but Richie likes to work in the dark or be patient and hide since he killed Vince at night outside the bar and he killed the officer and then asked amber to turn off the lights to avoid being seen this is very interesting ☺️👍

the only thing about Richie killing the officer out of costume is that I would assume he wouldn't take the risk of doing that in case there were cameras around??? Unless he has his costume on, took it off somewhere, and then went to Tara (which would still make him look super suspicious if someone were to ever look at potential footage). Also I just found out that Jack Quaid's mom is Meg Ryan who's referenced in the first movie. Super cool!!

I think the idea of surveillance cameras is one of those areas where we just need to suspend disbelief. Don't get me wrong, I'm not crazy about the fact either, and I would certainly be more mindful of these details if it were my script. But there are way more egregious things in the writing of this movie, like how one of the killers reveals their identity to two people before running off. Like we're just going to pretend that Sidney and Gale aren't going to call the police the second Amber shoots at them?

Also, your hypothesis about Richie messing with Sam's medications got me thinking a lot. Not on the "Sam forgetting she was with Riche" thing, because that's magical-voice-changer-from-Scream-3 suspension of reality, but it would really add another layer on Richie's manipulation of Sam, and also contribute more to their plan of framing her, since she could have another breakdown, "justifying" a murder spree. It's a great detail if you think about it.

I imagine Amber was so frenzied in her killing not only because of her rage but also to impress Richie who clearly idolises the previous ghostface killers

About the whole thing of Amber not being able to physically overpower Dewey, we do realize that Amber is the one that stomped on a leg hard enough to fucking break it, right? Like, one stomp straight to the leg, and she broke it. That's not super easy to do lol. She's definitely stronger than she looks.
